Nagpur: After the perennial congestion, primarily caused by hawker encroachments, was removed from the busy Sitabuldi market, the automated multi-level parking, which was lying vacant for months even after completion, has finally been opened for the public.
The parking facility was set up by Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Ltd (
NSSCDCL
) at a cost of around Rs5 crore in response to long standing complaints about congestion and lack of parking space in the market area.
The automated system can accommodate up to 240 two-wheelers and 22 four-wheelers. A trained operator was appointed to manage the advanced parking system.
Sources in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) said due to heavy encroachments on the road, people were not able to reach the multi-level parking.
"Since the hawkers have been removed, the parking could be made available to the citizens. We will now further promote the parking facility," said the official.
Municipal commissioner and administrator Abhijeet Chaudhari along with DCP (traffic) Archit Chandak and other officials visited the area after the hawkers were removed and two-side parking was introduced on the main road. During the visit, Chaudhari and others also inspected the

Chaudhari issued strict instructions to the enforcement department to keep the area and adjoining road free of encroachments.
"Encroachment must not be allowed to return in front of the parking site or surrounding areas," he said. He also directed officials to install clear signages to help guide citizens to the facility and encouraged visitors to the market to make full use of the parking infrastructure.
Currently, the service is being offered free of charge. Chaudhari instructed NSSCDCL officials to ensure the facility operates at full capacity and provides maximum convenience to the public. He also emphasised continued vigilance by anti-encroachment department to prevent resurgence of illegal occupation in the area.

India's EV policy: Can it deliver?

To encourage global brands to invest under the Scheme, they will be allowed to import Completely Built-in Units (CBUs) of e-4W with a minimum Cost, Insurance and Freight (CIF) value of $35,000 at reduced customs duty of 15% for five years from the application approval date. To avail this important benefit of the scheme, manufacturers would be required to make minimum investment of Rs4,150 crore. The maximum number of electric four-wheelers allowed to be imported at the reduced duty rate is capped at 8,000 units per year. The carryover of unutilised annual import limits would be permitted. The maximum benefits from this duty reduction are topped at Rs6,484 crore or the actual investment amount, whichever is lower. Manufacturers are also required to meet certain criteria including the need to achieve an annual turnover of at least Rs2,500 crore by the second year, Rs5,000 crore by the fourth year, and Rs7,500 crore by the fifth year. Additionally, they must reach local value-addition targets of 25% by the third year and 50% by the fifth year. They are also required to be of a certain size. The Global Group's Revenue (from automotive manufacturing) has to be at least Rs10,000 crore and if the applicant is an investment company, the revenue should not be less than Rs3,000 crore. Horti dept offers 50% subsidy on solar pumps for Mysuru, Chamarajanagar farmers

Mysuru: The horticulture department has introduced a 50% subsidy on solar-powered irrigation pumps for growers in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar. Under the scheme, Rs 1 lakh will be provided for a 3 HP solar pump and Rs 3 lakh for a 5 HP pump. The initiative not only reduces operational costs, but also promotes sustainable irrigation over diesel or grid-powered systems. Farmers cultivating horticulture crops in their fields can apply for the scheme without the condition of having drip irrigation and sprinkler systems installed to avail themselves of the benefit. The department has given preference to small and marginal farmers in the first phase and plans to extend the scheme to others later. To obtain this benefit for the installation of solar pumps from the horticulture department, farmers must submit a written affidavit certified by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited, stating that they did not benefit from KREDL and did not avail themselves of the benefit from the PM KUSUM scheme. Both Chamarajanagar and Mysuru districts have set a target of distribution for 213 farmers in the twin districts after identifying the beneficiaries taluk-wise in the 2025-26 financial year. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo To avail themselves of the subsidy benefit from the horticulture department for the installation of solar pumps, farmers must obtain prior work order permission from the office of the deputy director of horticulture after submitting an application with their taluk assistant director of horticulture, Chamarajanagar deputy director of horticulture Shivarprasad told TOI. Farmers must install solar pumps after purchasing them from a certified company from the state energy department at their own cost, then claim the subsidy amount after full installation from the department, he said. He mentioned that apart from providing a 50% subsidy for the installation of solar pumps, his department has also provided a 75% subsidy to encourage honeybee farming for general category farmers and a 90% subsidy for SC/ST farmers. Speaking to TOI, deputy director of horticulture of Mysuru district, Manjunath Angadi said that the department has already given instructions to all taluk assistant directors of horticulture to start identifying the beneficiaries to avail themselves of the subsidy benefit for the installation of solar pumps in their horticulture fields and start distributing subsidies after the completion of installation. The department has decided to encourage farmers to adopt such renewable energy solutions by installing solar pumps. This scheme is entirely different from the PM Kusum scheme, he said.
