Caitlin Clark shatters another women's sports record, this one off the court
Caitlin Clark continues to change the face of not just women's basketball or women's sports, but sports as a whole. The superstar point guard for the Indiana Fever of the WNBA and Iowa Hawkeyes legend, who owns just about every record in the book, has etched her place into the history books once again.
After a monster college career and outstanding rookie season in the WNBA, Clark is among the statistical record books everywhere you look. She is now making her presence felt in another area of the sports world off the court: trading cards.

In a recent article from Dan Hajducky at ESPN, he reported that a 2024 trading card of Caitlin Clark's sold for $366,000, setting the record for a women's sports card.
In the same auction, Caitlin Clark's 2024 Panini Prizm WNBA Signatures Gold Vinyl Prizm card -- numbered 1-of-1, receiving a perfect 10 grade with a 10 autograph grade from grader Professional Sports Authenticator -- sold for $366,000, including buyer's premium. - Dan Hadjucky, ESPN
This is not the first time that Caitlin Clark trading cards have reached this sort of price range. John Leuzzi of USA TODAY and Hawk Central reported that five Caitlin Clark trading cards have reached at least $97,000.
Caitlin Clark has changed the face of women's sports forever and is only entering her second WNBA season after her rookie season saw her named WNBA Rookie of the Year, selected as a WNBA All-Star, and a member of the All-WNBA First Team.
The three-time unanimous All-American at Iowa is a household name in the sports world, now the trading card world, and likely many more areas of everyday life as well in the near future.

Rankings Georgia's opponents based on ESPN FPI
ESPN recently released their preseason Football Power Index (FPI) rankings. Georgia Bulldogs fans learned that the Dawgs are ranked No. 2 on FPI with a rating of 26.6. The Football Power Index is a predictive ranking system that quantifies team strength. It is used to predict games and season results in football. FPI is most useful in college football because team strength is tougher to gauge due to the high number of teams in Division I and the uneven strength of conferences. Advertisement FPI views the SEC as the strongest conference in football since the SEC has the top three teams and five of the top 10 teams in the FPI rankings. The Big Ten has three top 10 teams, the ACC has just one, and Notre Dame rounds out the list. ESPN's projections have Georgia making the College Football Playoff 78.9% of the time, which is the second most of any team outside of the Texas Longhorns. Georgia also has the second-highest odds to win the SEC and make the national championship. Even still, Georgia's projected record sits at 10.1-2.4, which ranks fourth behind Texas, Ohio State, and Penn State. They have a gauntlet of SEC opponents to face and a challenging 2025 schedule. Ranking each of the Georgia Bulldogs' 2025 opponents based on FPI Jan 1, 2025; Atlanta, GA, USA; Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning (16) warms up before the Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Brett Davis-Imagn Images Advertisement Note: Austin Peay isn't ranked in FPI because they're a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) team, and FPI only ranks the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams. All-star athletes to join Damar Hamlin for a weekend of giving back to Pittsburgh kids
McKees Rocks native and current Buffalo Bills Damar Hamlin is gearing up for his weekend giving back to Pittsburgh, the city he says raised him. The weekend will start on Friday, June 13, with a youth football camp at Sto-Rocks High School. Kids can register by clicking here. Advertisement 'The kids can come get the experience of not only being around me, but also, you know, being around my teammates who will be coming out, former teammates, and just some other college, local colleges, you know,' Hamlin said. 'Robert Morris has players that volunteer. Pitt has players that volunteer. Duquesne has players that volunteer. My high school, Central Catholic, has players that come and they volunteer for the youth camp. It's all about the kids.' Empowering children and heart health are two issues Hamlin says are very dear to him. That's why his celebrity basketball game on Saturday night is called 'Hoops for Hearts.' It'll happen Saturday, June 14 at Duquesne University's Cooper Fieldhouse. In last year's celebrity basketball game, Hamlin hit the buzzer-beater to lead his team to the win. 'After hitting the game winner last year, I'm preparing like it's NBA Finals. I feel like I'm Tyrese Halliburton right now,' Hamlin said, talking about the Indiana Pacer guard who recently hit a similar shot in the NBA playoffs. Advertisement Hamlin said Dez Brown, Stefon Diggs, Debo Samuel, Von Miller and Romeo Miller are all committed to coming to the event. Also, some of his former Pitt alumni, including Aaron Donald, Tyler Boyd, and Dane Jackson. WPIAL great Miles Sanders has also committed. 'This is truly about the community. So, not only are you coming out to enjoy an event, but you're coming out to show your support in your community, that you're willing to do your part to show up for your community, that to show that you know we are all stronger together,' Hamlin said. 'The City of Pittsburgh raised me, so to be able to come back and put on events like this, it's truly all about the people and the people who raised me, and the people truly make this event what it is.' Hamlin advises people to get tickets for the event early. Last year's event was packed. On Sunday, there'll be CPR and AED training from 11 am- 3 pm at Mellon Park. It is in conjunction with the Juneteenth YouthFEST. Advertisement Sunday night is the high school football All-Star Game. It features team Jester versus team Chasing M's. 'I'm always excited to be able to continue to make more impact and put in more work. Everything I do is earned through the work,' Hamlin said. It just makes me excited to be able to have a lane to where I can bring something special to the city of Pittsburgh. We're a small, blue collar, hardworking city and we don't always get the praise for being as special as we are. And you know our city is truly special."
