Arkansas man arrested in West Peoria after ‘terroristic threats'
WEST PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A man wanted in Arkansas for alleged 'terroristic threats' as well as alleged possession of a stolen U-Haul and illicit drugs was arrested in West Peoria Friday morning.
Jeremy Adame, 38, was arrested at the 600 block of North Waverly Avenue just after 9:30 a.m. Friday morning, said Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins in a Facebook post.
He was staying at the location in West Peoria when he was arrested by Deputy Blaine Duhs with the U.S. Marshals Task Force and detectives with the Peoria County Sheriff's Office.
Adame was allegedly also in possession of a stolen U-Haul truck and methamphetamines, according to the post.
Adame is set to be extradited to Arkansas, and there is no cause for public concern, Watkins said.

UPSI student bus crashes with MPV on East-West Highway in Gerik, at least 15 dead; PM instructs Higher Education Ministry to coordinate aid
IPOH, June 9 — At least 15 people were killed in an accident involving a bus carrying students from Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) and a Perodua Alza multi-purpose vehicle on the East-West Highway in Banun, Gerik this morning. The Hulu Perak operations control centre of the Civil Defence Force (APM) received an emergency call from Gerik Hospital regarding the collision at 1.10 am, national news agency Bernama reported. The APM confirmed in a statement that 48 people were involved in the crash, with 13 pronounced dead at the scene. Two more were reported to have died in the hospital. Four others sustained injuries. 'Such heartbreaking tragedies, which happen all too often, should serve as a lesson to everyone to always be cautious and never rush in pursuit of a destination. 'Your lives are far too precious and irreplaceable,' he added. In a separate Facebook post, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir said his ministry will provide all necessary assistance to those involved in the crash. He extended his condolences to the families of the victims and said further information will be updated in due course.

Weber County Sheriff's Office mourns passing of K-9 Nova
OGDEN, Utah (ABC4) — The Weber County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of one its Police Service Dogs, K-9 Nova. In a Facebook post by the Weber County Sheriff's Office on Sunday, the department announced that K-9 Nova passed away on Saturday, June 7 due to an unexpected medical condition, and was just shy of two years old. K-9 Nova joined the Sheriff's Office in November 2024 and immediately began narcotics detection along side her handler, Deputy Nielsen. K-9 Nova was attending a narcotics detection certification course at the time of her passing, with the department adding that Nova showed 'tremendous promise' In their statement, the department adds: 'Nova was more than just a partner in service — she was a beloved member of Deputy Nielsen's family, where she was deeply cherished and udoubtedly spoiled with love and care.' Chillicothe woman killed in wreck on Route 29 Friday
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — The Peoria County Coroner released the name of a driver who was killed in a wreck on Illinois Route 29 Friday, despite the 'heroic efforts' of bystanders. Raven Jackson, 30, of Chillicothe, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 8:15 a.m. Friday, June 6th, Coroner Jamie Harwood said in a Facebook post. 'Heroic efforts from bystanders were made in an attempt to provide aid for Jackson, but unfortunately, her injuries were incompatible with life,' Harwood said. The woman's car was headed north on Route 29 when it collided with the truck at about 6:53 a.m. near Gardner Lane, according to a spokesman for the Illinois State Police. She suffered severe blunt force injuries from the collisions, she was wearing her seatbelt, he said. No update was given on the other driver's condition. Harwood ended the post by giving the definition of a hero, 'A courageous individual who selflessly puts their own life at risk to aid another, exemplifying bravery, self-sacrifice, and moral integrity in the face of danger.'
