Today, we are taking a look at the new Redmi 15 5G from Xiaomi. This is the latest budget smartphone in the company's long-running numbered Redmi series and while we can't reveal all the details yet, we can show what the device looks like and talk about some of its features.
Starting with the design, the back of the phone looks rather familiar as we have seen similar designs in the past from Oppo and Vivo. There's a rectangular camera island to the top left with three circular elements stacked vertically on the left. In case of the Redmi 15 5G, the camera island is made out of aluminum.
Also seen on the back is the icy pattern on the Frosted White variant that we have today. The phone also comes in two other colors, Midnight Black and Sandy Purple, where the former has a plain black look while the latter mimics the appearance of sand dunes.
On the front is the 6.9-inch FHD+ LCD with a refresh rate that goes up to 144Hz. There are sizable bezels all-around, but that is to be expected in this segment.
The Redmi 15 5G's claim to fame is its large 7000mAh battery. Xiaomi claims this is the only silicon-carbon battery in the segment and that it retains 80% of its life even after 4+ years of use. The phone can also be used as a power bank as it offers 18W reverse wired charging. Meanwhile, the phone itself offers 33W fast charging with a matching charger provided in the box.
The Redmi 15 5G is running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset and will come with the company's HyperOS 2 installed. Xiaomi promises two years of OS updates and four years of security updates. Other features include a 50MP camera at the back, IP64 ingress protection, and Dolby-certified audio.
The Redmi 15 5G will be launched on August 19, and we will have more details to share then.

iPhone 17 Air dummy unit in Sky Blue stars in new hands-on video

Vlad, 13 August 2025 There's been a lot of talk about colorways for Apple's upcoming iPhones, as all of the models are getting new hues. The iPhone 17 Air itself is an entirely new model, one with which Apple will be testing how far people are willing to go for a sleek look - how much they're willing to pay for it, both in actual money and in terms of tradeoffs like a tiny battery and just one rear camera. We'll find out soon enough, but until we do, let's enjoy a hands-on video showing an iPhone 17 Air dummy unit in the upcoming Sky Blue colorway. IPhone 17 Air Sky Blue looks amazing — Majin Bu (@MajinBuOfficial) August 13, 2025 It's not quite 'baby blue', but it's more blue than other desaturated blues, and it can in fact remind you of the sky. It looks pleasant and once again the iPhone 17 Air's insane thinness is on display - the latest rumor on the matter claimed we should expect it to measure 5.65mm to 5.7mm. The iPhone 17 family is expected to be unveiled at a special event on September 9.

The support page for a smartphone with model number SM-M075F/DS has gone live on the Samsung India site. While the listing doesn't reveal any details, it does suggest that the phone could launch soon. Previously, the Galaxy M07 was also spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website with the same model number as listed on the support page. It is said that the upcoming M series phone could be a rebrand of another unreleased Samsung phone, the Galaxy A07. The Galaxy A07 is rumored to launch this month with a 6.7-inch LCD display with 90Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, and an IP54 rating. It is likely that the upcoming Galaxy M07 could offer the same specifications as the A series phone. Samsung Galaxy A06 5G The Galaxy M07 is expected to be a 4G budget handset. iOS 26's CarPlay confirmed to support video playback, with a big catch

Vlad, 13 August 2025 Apple is expected to release iOS 26 next month, and as part of that release, CarPlay is getting an intriguing new feature: video playback. This marks a pretty important milestone for Apple, which has so far resisted offering such a functionality on CarPlay. With iOS 26, apps will be able to play videos onto the CarPlay screen - of course, only when the car is parked. That sounds awesome, but there's a pretty significant catch. Namely, automakers will have to enable support for this feature, it won't just magically go live. And so, many of them could decide to simply not bother, or might have very late rollouts. On the other hand, CarPlay in iOS 26 is definitely getting redesigned icons and appearance options, support for widgets, and some updates to Music and Messages - these don't require any explicit approval from car makers so you'll see them in September. A step above CarPlay is CarPlay Ultra, announced back in May with Aston Martin, and expected to also eventually be supported on vehicles from Kia, Hyundai, Porsche, Genesis, Ford, Nissan, Infiniti, Jaguar, and Honda, but shunned by BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Polestar, Renault, and GM.
