Cup winning coach Mott to take charge of the Sixers

Matthew Mott will return to women's cricket, with Australia's World Cup winning coach to take charge of the Sydney Sixers.
Mott was confirmed as the Sixers' new WBBL head coach on Friday, replacing Charlotte Edwards after she took the top job with England.
The move will reunite Mott with the likes of Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner, who were all central to his success as Australia's coach.
Mott's former vice-captain from his time in charge of the Australian team will also act as his boss, with Rachael Haynes the Sixers' general manager.
"I'm absolutely delighted to be working with the Sixers women's team," Mott said.
"I've had a strong connection with the club over many years, so when the opportunity came up, it was one I was really keen to take on.
"Having coached a number of players in the current squad, I'm looking forward to reconnecting with them, as well as working with some of the younger talent."
One of Australia's most successful coaches, Mott turned the national team into an all-conquering beast during his time in charge from 2015 to 2022.
Under his guidance, Australia won two T20 World Cup and an ODI one, winning every trophy they contested between late 2017 and his exit.
He left the role to take up his first full-time international job as head of England's men's team, and had immediate success in that year's T20 World Cup.
But he was bundled out of the job last year, before becoming an assistant with the Sixers in the men's BBL.
Mott will face a job to turn the Sixers back into a force in the WBBL, with the club having not won a tournament since 2017-18.
The Sixers have reached the finals just once in the past six years, despite having some of the biggest names in the women's game at their disposal.
"There are few coaches in world cricket who have achieved a similar track record of success and Motty has proven that he knows what it takes to build a strong, winning culture," Haynes said.
"Motty was a fantastic addition to our men's coaching group last season, and we're really pleased that he will also continue in his role assisting the BBL side under the guidance of Greg Shipperd."
