Volvo Construction Equipment and its Indonesian dealer have launched the new generation EC210 excavator based on the epic Hindu legend of Mahabharata. The EC210 is ideal for construction and mining sectors and even for infrastructure development.
The performance incorporated visual themes from the story to represent the leading technology, robust structure, reliable components, as well as the productivity of the new machine.
The Indonesian launch event for the New Generation Volvo EC210 Excavator was built around the theme of 'Pandava' to celebrate local culture and align the strength, efficiency, and endurance of the machine with the legend of the Pandava brothers, who overcame multiple challenges to save a village.
Bambang Prijono, President Director of PT Indotruck Utama (ITU) said: "At PT Indotruck Utama, we are confident that the New Generation EC210 is the ideal solution for Indonesia's diverse industries. With its superior efficiency, durability, and ease of maintenance, this excavator is engineered to meet the evolving demands of our customers, whether in construction, mining, or infrastructure development."
"Just as the Pandava brothers overcame challenges through their unique strengths, the New Generation EC210 is built to tackle the toughest job site conditions with precision and power," he observed.
New era in excavation
The New Generation EC210 excavator is an easy-to-own 20-ton crawler excavator that simplifies operations and maintenance.
The launch event welcomed over 100 customers from various industries to get a detailed look at the machine's robust design, advanced technology, and ability to offer exceptional return on investment.
The New Generation EC210 comes with a high-performance Volvo engine that provides increased power and torque and features 10 work modes with optimised hydraulics for faster cycle times and better productivity.
The heavy-duty design ensures long-term performance in any application, while safety is enhanced with 3-point side access, emergency shutdown, rearview camera, and anti-slip plates. Operator comfort is further improved with a ROPS cab and ergonomic controls.
Greater Fuel Savings
Advanced hydraulics reduce fuel consumption by up to 15% by intelligently regulating engine speed and hydraulic flow, leading to lower operating costs and the New Generation EC210 is designed for further efficiency with longer service intervals, easy service access, and a fuel shut-off valve to prevent spillage and minimise maintenance costs.
Optional features such as Dig Assist and Volvo attachments like hydraulic breakers also enhance its versatility.
Tomas Kuta, President of Region Asia, Volvo CE, said: "The EC210 represents Volvo's commitment to delivering innovative, high-performance machines that meet the evolving needs of our customers in Indonesia."

US VP Vance meets Indian PM Modi for tough talks on trade

'Boost' Vance's visit comes during an escalating trade war between the United States and China. India's neighbour faces US levies of up to 145 percent on many products. Beijing has responded with duties of 125 percent on US goods. New Delhi has reacted cautiously so far. India's Department of Commerce said after the tariffs were announced it was 'carefully examining the implications', adding it was 'also studying the opportunities that may arise'. The two leaders were also expected to discuss China, seen as a challenger in different domains by both governments. The two democracies are also a part of the 'Quad' group with Australia and Japan. The US vice president is accompanied by his wife Usha, the daughter of Indian immigrants. Together with their three children, dressed in traditional flowing Indian attire, they visited the Hindu Akshardham Temple in New Delhi. Modi said during his visit to Washington that the world's largest and fifth-largest economies would work on a 'mutually beneficial trade agreement'. Modi said he 'looks forward' to a visit by Trump to India later this year, New Delhi said in a statement, with a potential Quad summit slated.

Qatar to invest $2 bn in Indonesia sovereign wealth fund

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said Qatar is set to invest $2 billion in his country's new sovereign wealth fund as he looks to boost economic growth. Prabowo is on a five-nation tour of the Middle East, visiting the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar and Jordan to boost bilateral ties with the region. He said Sunday he had a 'productive' meeting with Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and that the country would invest in the Danantara Indonesia fund. Danantara Indonesia was launched in February by President Prabowo Subianto who pledged to ramp up annual growth from five to eight percent, while ordering billions of dollars in government cuts. The fund will take control of government holdings in state companies with an initial budget of $20 billion. It is the country's second sovereign wealth fund, after the Indonesia Investment Authority, which was launched in 2021 and holds $10.5 billion in assets. Danantara announced its full board lineup last month with American billionaire Ray Dalio and former Thailand prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra appointed as advisors.
