It seems we're either seeing Guehi arrive at Liverpool in the next two weeks or we're seeing it next summer, then. Romano certainly believes so. We imagine a lot of it might hinge on what Real Madrid plan to do with Ibrahima Konate. He's also out of contract in a year and Los Blancos want to sign him. Maybe they'll wait, but maybe they'll try a late push. Guehi would certainly be an ideal replacement.

Liverpool have been stuck in traffic for the last few weeks, waiting for movement at Newcastle to give them enough encouragement that a move for might genuinely be possible. This move comes a little out of the blue given how influential Ramos was to PSG's Super Cup win earlier this week, coming off the bench to score the equaliser to take the game to a penalty shootout. PSG will be lacking his dynamism if the Portuguese international is allowed to join Newcastle, but of course, Liverpool will be able to benefit significantly from his arrival, with Isak's transfer lurking. At 24 years old, Ramos is still particularly young and alongside Wissa, he would be a really useful player for Newcastle, allowing them to move on from the haunting and distressing Isak saga. The only issue appears to be time, given only two weeks of the transfer window remain, and we don't know how much PSG would be looking to get for Ramos, although his suitors will be well aware of the cash injection they'd get from Liverpool once the green light is given for an approach for Isak. With this one, it feels right to not get too carried away. A lot of things still need to happen before the Reds can get what they want. But now that two strikers are being linked to Newcastle, which is a milestone in itself, you feel Liverpool are on the brink with Isak - closer than ever before to a move.

Even though Elliott's durability could finally give way via a flying knee or something, I still suspect he has enough in the tank to give Asakura a hard three frames of fighting. It's a risky pick, but I'll side with Elliott to survive some scary spots en route to dogging out a competitive decision on the scorecards.
