Royal Saudi Air Force Participates in Red Flag 25-2 Exercise in US
The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) is taking part in the Red Flag-Nellis 25-2, taking place in the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, US, according to the Saudi Ministry of Defense.
The Red Flag 25-2 Exercise aims to enhance the level of combat readiness and efficiency, in addition to coordinating efforts to achieve operational compatibility for joint operations.
The Royal Saudi Air Force participates in Red Flag 25-2 Exercise with a Typhoon aircraft system, including its entire air, technical, and support personnel. The RSAF will execute defensive and offensive counter air operations, close air support, and combat search and rescue operations.
Running from March 10-21, 2025, the Red Flag 25-2 Exercise sees the participation of 1,500 participants from 15 units representing the US Air Force and Marine Corps, as well as the Royal Saudi Air Force, the UAE Air Force and the Turkish Air Force.
The Red Flag 25-2 Exercise provides participants with a significant opportunity to plan and execute air operations in realistic, contested environment by engaging participants in complex mission scenarios against formidable aggressor forces. This enables participants to enhance their skills and tactics for real-world application.

In the light of this, the 414th Combat Training Squadron commander, Col. Eric Winterbottom, said: 'By conducting realistic training scenarios in a controlled environment, Red Flag enables aircrews to hone their skills, which is crucial given that studies have shown the first ten combat missions pose the highest risks.'
Winterbottom stressed the importance of the exercises in strengthening cooperation and partnerships between partner air forces. 'Red Flag-Nellis 25-2 exemplifies how international collaboration transforms our air combat capabilities, as diverse units come together to enhance operational readiness and foster long-term relationships,' he said.

MAKKAH: The Saudi Ministry of Defense will deploy a fleet of aerial evacuation aircraft to respond to emergency medical cases during this year's Hajj season, set to start on June 4. The ministry will provide advanced ambulance services for transferring emergency health cases from Hajj destinations to hospitals inside and outside Makkah. On Monday, Saudi authorities announced the use of drones to deliver medicines and other medical supplies to patients during Hajj, cutting delivery times from an average of one hour to just six minutes. The initiative, covering a network of more than 136 locations at several sites, will be able to provide more than 2,000 types of medicines and other medical supplies.

Royal Saudi Air Force Concludes Participation in Anatolian Phoenix Joint Exercise
The Royal Saudi Air Force concluded its participation in the Anatolian Phoenix 2025 exercise at Konya Air Base in Türkiye, alongside forces from several friendly countries, following the successful execution of multiple combat search and rescue drills. At the conclusion of the exercise, Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force Contingent Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Abdulrahman Al-Mansour stated that the force had participated for two weeks in various training activities and coordination efforts, SPA reported. These exercises demonstrated a high level of professionalism among the air, technical, and support crews, as well as their strong capabilities in planning and executing joint operational missions. He emphasized that the drills aimed to exchange expertise and enhance combat readiness in a realistic combat-like environment, highlighting that the desired objectives of the exercise were successfully achieved. The Royal Saudi Air Force participated in the exercise with two Cougar combat search and rescue helicopters, fully staffed with air, technical, and support crews, along with six air controllers.

Royal Saudi Air Force joins search and rescue drill in Turkiye
RIYADH: The international combat search and rescue exercise Phoenix of Anatolia began on Monday at Turkiye's Konya Air Base, with the Royal Saudi Air Force joining units from several other countries. The Saudi team brought two Cougar search and rescue helicopters, along with full aircrews and technical support, according to Lt. Col. Pilot Abdulrahman Al-Mansour, who leads the Saudi contingent. 'Our team includes six air controllers and aims to improve readiness in realistic conditions while exchanging expertise with other forces,' Al-Mansour said. The 11-day drill focuses on combat search and rescue operations that support broader air missions. One focus is training tactical air control teams to coordinate with allied systems, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday. The Saudi delegation arrived last week and was received by Rear Adm. Abdullah bin Gaith, the Kingdom's military attache in Ankara.
