A drone attack hit a DNO-operated oilfield in Tawke, northern Iraq, the second strike this week.
A drone attack struck an oilfield operated by Norwegian oil and gas company DNO in Tawke, located in the Zakho Administration area of northern Iraq, the Kurdistan region's counter-terrorism service said, as per Reuters. This marks the second attack on the DNO-operated field since a wave of drone strikes began earlier this week.
DNO, which oversees the Tawke and Peshkabour oilfields near the Turkish border, temporarily suspended production at both sites following explosions. No injuries were reported, according to the counter-terrorism service.
Two energy officials told Reuters that the recent drone attacks have reduced oil output in Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region by approximately 140,000 to 150,000 barrels per day as infrastructure damage has forced multiple shutdowns.
