The iOS 26 beta updates are coming in thick and fast as Apple sets the countdown for the big iPhone 17 launch next month. The latest iOS 26 beta 6 version is rolling out for eligible iPhone users this week, who are again seeing a more stable iOS 26 version along with minor changes/additions to the platform for the users.
With every new beta update we are getting close to the public release which will be confirmed by the company in the next few weeks. If you have downloaded the iOS 26 beta earlier, the beta 6 version will feel iterative but equally important for the evolving nature of the platform.

More Ringtones
Apple continues to sell new ringtones as a big point, so much that people highlight it with the new features. The company has added new versions to the Reflection ringtone such as Buoyant, Tech, Pop and Surge among others. And there is a new Little Bird ringtone added to the mix.
Liquid Glass Effect For More Places
The toggle button and even the lockscreen UI now sees a different shade of the Liquid Glass design that focuses on being more transparent than before. You also see it work on the passcode screen as well as the navigation bar with updated highlights.
More Changes Noticed
There is a new video that explains the iOS 26 Liquid Glass design changes which probably makes sense. The company has removed the toggle button to activate the classic mode for the camera.
It is clear that the beta update 6 is a lot lighter than version 5 which has more significant changes, including battery alert on the dynamic island, new AirDrop icon and new Wi-Fi labels.

Foxconn sees robust AI demand continuing after Q2 profit tops forecast
By Wen-Yee Lee and Faith Hung TAIPEI: Foxconn expects higher third-quarter revenue, it said on Thursday, on robust demand for artificial intelligence servers, which helped the world's largest contract electronics maker report a forecast-beating 27% increase in second-quarter profit. Foxconn said it should see significant year-on-year revenue growth in the third quarter, with AI server revenue expected to leap more than 170% year-on-year, though it also warned on uncertainty from U.S. tariffs. Nvidia 's biggest server maker and Apple's top iPhone assembler has been riding a data centre boom, as cloud computing firms such as Amazon , Microsoft and Alphabet's Google spend billions of dollars to expand their AI infrastructure and research capacity. That boom helped Foxconn's revenue from its cloud and networking business, which includes AI servers , exceed that from smart consumer electronics - such as iPhones - for the first time ever in the second quarter. The contribution from the server business to its revenue is set to grow further in the current quarter, as Foxconn expects a slight decline in smart consumer electronics revenue, as some experts expect slowing iPhone sales after sales surged in the June quarter ahead of the expected imposition of U.S. tariffs. "AI has been the primary growth driver so far this year," Kathy Yang, rotating CEO of Foxconn, said on a call with media and analysts. But she also warned that "close attention is needed due to the impact of changes in tariffs and exchange rates." The company said on Thursday its capital spending would rise more than 20% this year, as it plans to boost server production capacity in its manufacturing sites in Texas and Wisconsin. Yet, global trade uncertainty could dim the prospects for its outlook this year, as it has a major manufacturing presence in China, though Washington and Beijing this week extended a tariff truce for another 90 days. Most of the iPhones Foxconn makes for Apple are assembled in China, but the bulk of those sold in the United States are now produced in India. The company is also building factories in Mexico and Texas to make AI servers for Nvidia. LORDSTOWN SOLD Foxconn has also been looking to expand its footprint in electric vehicles, which the company sees as a major future growth generator, though that has not always gone smoothly. Earlier this month, Foxconn said it had struck a deal to sell a former car factory at Lordstown, Ohio, for $375 million, including its machinery, that it purchased in 2022 to manufacture EVs. However, it will continue to occupy the facility. The company said the Ohio plant would be used to manufacture cloud-related products. A source familiar with the matter told Reuters that the plant was sold to its partner SoftBank. Foxconn and SoftBank declined to comment. "In response to the rapidly growing demand for AI computing power in the U.S. market, we will also leverage the Ohio plant to manufacture cloud network products," Yang said, without giving details. The goal of manufacturing its Model C EV for the U.S. market remains unchanged, although initial production will take place in Taiwan, Foxconn said. Overall, the company reported net profit for the April-June period was T$44.4 billion ($1.48 billion), higher than the consensus estimate of T$38.8 billion compiled by LSEG. Foxconn, formally called Hon Hai Precision Industry, last month reported record second-quarter revenue on strong demand for AI products but cautioned about geopolitical and exchange rate headwinds. Foxconn's shares have risen 8.4% so far this year, outperforming the broader Taiwan index's 5.2% gain. Its shares closed up 0.5% on Thursday ahead of the earnings release.

As always, rumours about new features and designs have been circulating, including reports of bigger screens, enhanced cameras, and a possible ultra-thin iPhone Air that could replace the Plus model. iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max The iPhone 17 is expected to receive a major redesign to bring it closer in appearance to the Pro models. Rumours suggest the device will feature a 6.3-inch display, slightly larger than the iPhone 16, and a 120Hz refresh rate, an upgrade from the current 60Hz. The front camera could be upgraded to 24 megapixels, and new colour options including purple and green may be introduced. The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to see noticeable changes on the rear of the device. Concept renders suggest the three rear cameras may be aligned in a rectangular bar extending across the back, with the flash, light sensor and microphone positioned to the right side. The Apple logo is likely to be centred, replacing the MagSafe charger position. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to see fewer changes, with the main upgrade being a slightly thicker body to accommodate a larger battery. According to leaks, the iPhone 17 could be priced around $800, the Pro at $1,050, and the Pro Max at $1,250. Storage options may be limited to 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, removing the 128GB variant. iPhone Air Apple is also rumoured to be introducing the iPhone Air, its slimmest device yet at 5.5mm thick, which could replace the Plus model. The phone is expected to feature a 6.6-inch display and a single rear camera lens. While the thin design is visually appealing, it may come with compromises such as a limited speaker setup. Rumoured prices are $950, with colours including black, silver and light gold. Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3 and SE 3 The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to receive major upgrades, including faster charging, 5G support, satellite connectivity and a larger display. Both the Ultra 3 and Series 11 may gain blood pressure monitoring and a sleep apnea feature, although these could be delayed for further refinement. The Apple Watch SE 3 is not expected to receive major changes apart from a possible larger display and a potential plastic variant. Rumoured prices are $250 for the SE 3, $400 for Series 11, and $800 for Ultra 3. AirPods Pro 3 The next generation of AirPods Pro is expected to feature a sleeker design, smaller earbuds, touch-sensitive controls and a slimmer case. The H3 chip may enhance active noise cancellation and adaptive audio, continuing Apple's focus on improving sound quality and user experience.
