Premiership kingpins Celtic boast an array of transfer hits in the modern era with half of Liverpool's new-look defence starring in green and white in Virgil van Dijk and Jeremie Frimpong turning heads in Glasgow before earning money-spinning exits. Enter Callum Osmand; the 19-year-old standout is on the brink of signing for the Premiership champions and he certainly has some recent success stories to prove it's a move worth making. Advertisement The Welsh youth international is primed to compete in Brendan Rodgers' first team and the Irishman's first trophy-laden era was set off by a star signing from the Cottagers. Moussa Dembele was a step ahead of Osmand with regular game time in the Fulham first team and he backed that up when he arrived in Glasgow. Seriously, Celtic have landed a hat-trick of their most exciting talents from a finishing school which also honed the skills of two modern favourites among the Parkhead fanbase. Managers, academy directors and scouts change, however, players honed in Fulham who arrive at Celtic appear to be a winning combination. Advertisement Patrick Roberts spent two-and-a-half years on loan from Manchester City after he was signed from Fulham and Matt O'Riley – a snip at £1.5million from Russell Martin's then MK Dons in 2022 – was another who made the grade at Craven Cottage. In total, including transfers, signing-on fees and bumper wages, Celtic have enjoyed the benefits from a trio of talents in Dembele, O'Riley and Roberts which has soared beyond £70m. Fulham fans, and this isn't a feeling consigned to only them, are pig sick that another academy talent is exiting with palpable concerns that first-team success shouldn't be to the detriment to the obvious talent they are churning out. Advertisement Celtic themselves are no strangers to losing their best young talent with Daniel Cummings – potentially an option for the role earmarked for Osmand – after he secured his move to West Ham. And the incoming forward appears a player of status with his 10 goals in EPL2 last season. Osmand specialises in playing on the last defender and appears suited to the way Rodgers wants his strikers to operate. Now the youngster aims to continue a tradition which appears to always pay off for Celtic.
