Aditya Roy Kapur is ready to surprise his fans by showcasing his singing talent! In his upcoming film 'Metro…In Dino', he takes on the challenge of singing on screen for the first time. Known for his soulful performances, this film will also highlight his singing abilities, and fans are super excited to hear him sing! Aditya Roy Kapur recently opened up about singing in a film for the first time, and said that it happened organically. He revealed that music composer Pritam wanted him to give it a shot!
Aditya explained that fans will get to hear him sing for the first time. Although he has sung privately for friends and himself, this marks his official singing debut in a film. The decision to sing happened naturally due to the musical format of the film, and it turned out well, offering fans a fresh experience of seeing him sing on screen. 'The one thing that the fans might discover that they've never seen before is that I'm singing for the first time, I've always sung but more for myself and my friends. This musical outing will give audiences a chance to hear his voice in a whole new light, making the performance both personal and immersive. Aditya Roy Kapur reflects on modern-day relationships and disconnection in ‘Metro…In Dino'

Aditya Roy Kapur, known for his soulful portrayals, is all set to explore the complexities of contemporary love and emotional disconnect in Anurag Basu's upcoming anthology film Metro…In Dino. The film, which delves into the nuances of urban relationships, sees Aditya paired opposite Sara Ali Khan in a fresh on-screen combination. Reflecting on the film's theme, Aditya opened up about how modern connections can often feel superficial despite the constant communication enabled by technology. 'We're more connected than ever, but not necessarily in richer ways,' the actor said. 'You can be in touch with someone all the time, sending memes and messages, but if there's no meaningful conversation, is it really connection?' Highlighting the paradox of hyper-connectivity, he added, 'Sometimes, you feel like you know what your friends are up to constantly, but those quality conversations—the ones that matter—are missing. Being connected and truly communicating are two different things.' Aditya finds his character in Metro…In Dino particularly intriguing. 'He's someone who doesn't have a set direction in life. He's living in the moment, talented, opinionated, but also spontaneous. That made him really fun to play,' he shared. 'He has a graph that evolves throughout the film, and I'm excited for audiences to experience that journey.' Directed by Anurag Basu, Metro…In Dino serves as the final chapter in his much-loved trilogy that began with Life in a... Metro. The ensemble cast features Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher, and Neena Gupta. Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, in association with Anurag Basu Productions Pvt. Ltd., the film is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and TaaniBasu. With music composed by Pritam, Metro…In Dino is scheduled to hit theatres on July 4, 2025, promising a heartfelt exploration of love, heartbreak, and human connection in today's digital world.

Aditya Roy Kapur on modern love: 'Very important to keep reflecting.' - Exploring connection in today's relationships

Aditya Roy Kapur, starring in Anurag Basu's 'Metro… In Dino,' highlights the difference between mere connection and meaningful communication in modern relationships. He urges reflection on genuine bonds beyond casual interactions. The film, exploring love and heartbreak, releases on July 4, featuring a star-studded cast including Sara Ali Khan. Aditya Roy Kapur has highlighted that even though people communicate frequently in today's world, many relationships lack genuine emotional depth. He stressed the need to regularly evaluate these connections to determine if simply staying in touch truly reflects an authentic emotional bond. Stories of Connection and Disconnection in 'Metro… In Dino' The actor shared with IANS that the film 'Metro… In Dino" weaves together various narratives that reflect both the bonds and rifts in contemporary relationships. He said, 'I guess the stories are about both disconnection and connection—not only disconnection. Yeah, I think today, in the modern world, we're more connected than ever." The Difference Between Being Connected and Truly Communicating He points out that there's a clear distinction between simply being connected and genuinely communicating. He explains, 'You can connect with someone instantly if you want, but I don't know if that's necessarily led to richer relationships. And that's something we should keep asking ourselves. Because sometimes, you can be in touch with someone all the time, but if it's not a meaningful conversation—if it's not meaningful communication—then what is it?" Casual Connections vs. Meaningful Conversations Aditya shared that although he is constantly aware of what his friends are up to, the connection often comes from casual interactions like sharing memes. He remarked, 'Sometimes you feel connected because you're sending memes all the time or are hyper-connected, but I'm not sure those exchanges qualify as meaningful conversations. Those moments can't truly be replaced.' He will be starring opposite actress Sara Ali Khan. Reflecting on Relationships 'So I think it's very important to keep reflecting on the relationships in your life and understand whether just being in touch really means you're connected," he added. About His Character in the Film The actor shared that what drew him to his character right away was the complexity and spontaneity of the role. He explained, 'I mean, it was a very interesting character to play—a guy who seems to have no real set ideas of what he wants in life or what he wants out of life. A guy who is living in the moment, enjoying whatever he's doing. He's talented, a go-with-the-flow kind of guy who is also opinionated and has a lot to say, which made him fun to play. Yeah, obviously, he goes through a graph in the film—and that's for you to see when you finally, hopefully, watch the film. But yeah, it was a fun character to play, for sure." About 'Metro… In Dino' Anurag Basu is back with 'Metro… In Dino,' the last part of his linked story trilogy. The movie looks at modern relationships, love, and heartbreak. It stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal , Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi , Konkona Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher, and Neena Gupta. The film is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series and made with Anurag Basu Productions. The music is composed by Pritam, while the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu. The movie will release in theaters on July 4.
