Bills QB Josh Allen shows no signs of jitters with wedding to Hailee Steinfeld coming up fast
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — If Josh Allen is experiencing any pre-wedding jitters, they weren't evident when the Buffalo Bills opened voluntary practices on Tuesday.
The quarterback, who is engaged to actor and singer Hailee Steinfeld, looked his usual, outgoing self. He danced in the huddle to the music being played over the loudspeakers, barked out plays behind center and joined the celebration in the end zone after completing a perfectly placed pass to Curtis Samuel.
Allen even had time to chat with new Bills minority owner and former NBA star Vince Carter on the sideline before jogging off the field without speaking to reporters following the session.
Though the date and location of the wedding have not been disclosed, Bills tackle Dion Dawkins revealed it was May 31 during an interview on the NFL Network in March. Dawkins has since told The Rich Eisen Show, 'I ain't know anything about that.'
The wedding is scheduled to take place over one of the next two weekends, a person familiar with the details told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the date is private.
Coach Sean McDermott acknowledged how important the NFL MVP's presence was at practice in light of his busy offseason schedule.
'I think it says everything, right? He is the face of our organization. He's the leader of our team,' McDermott said. 'Like any leader, in particular the leader of the team, those words that he says and his actions are exponentially impactful, to the whole roster, the whole team.'
As for Allen showing any pre-wedding nerves, McDermott laughed at the attempt to have him disclose the wedding date.
'Good try on that,' he said, before adding: 'But he is as confident and as calm, cool and collected as he always is.'
Allen, who turned 29 last week, and the 28-year-old Steinfeld were engaged during the Bills bye week in November, when the quarterback proposed on a California cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
The two were first linked in the spring of 2023, when they were photographed dining together in New York City. Steinfeld has since begun attending Bills home games, and the couple hosted a Halloween party. The couple was inseparable at the NFL Awards ceremony in February, when Allen credited Steinfeld upon accepting the league's MVP honor.
Allen has spoken highly of the settling influence provided by Steinfeld, referring to her as his biggest fan.
She began her acting career at the age of 10, and earned an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress for her role as Mattie Ross in the Coen brothers' 2010 remake of 'True Grit.' Other roles have included the 2016 high school dramedy 'The Edge of Seventeen,' and 'Dickinson.' She branched out into pop music after performing in the 2015 movie 'Pitch Perfect 2.'
Allen is entering his eighth NFL season. In March, he signed a contract extension worth $330 million, including an NFL record $250 million of it guaranteed, making him among the league's highest-paid players.

Returning from last year's team are Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby, although Etienne struggled with efficiency, averaging 3.7 yards per rush in 2024, while Bigsby put the ball on the ground. Under the Jaguars' new leadership structure, as a draft pick, Tuten is 'their guy.' But like any young player, there will be a learning curve for Tuen to navigate as he adjusts to the NFL level and a new, demanding offensive scheme. Early on in OTAs, Tuten has already put the ball on the ground, which was an issue he dealt with during his college career. However, what he brings to the Jaguars' offense is speed, running a 4.32-second 40 during the pre-draft process--the fastest time of any running back at the NFL combine--and big-play ability. Last season, Tuten averaged 6.3 yards per rush and was difficult to bring down, ranking 13th in average yards after contact and 16th in missed tackles forced, per PFF. Having a strong running game to lean on is going to be important to the overall success of the Jaguars' offense. I think we can all expect Tuten to have a role this season, but how big of one may still have to be determined. "I thought last week, as we were kind of getting more into the scheme, he was getting a little bit more comfortable," Coen said of Tuten last week. "I thought he started to get a little bit more into it, had a couple better runs of feeling the zone and being able to stick his foot in the ground and accelerate. "So, good learning experience. You know, first time in a live setting in the National Football League, on your first carry, hopefully you learn something from that moment."

Johnson comes across as a very confident player who does not seem like the NFL is too big for him. Johnson was the heart and soul of the Iowa offense and you can see that level of maturity and leadership has carried over into the league. Johnson might not be the team's feature back in 2025 but there's no doubt the coaches aren't going to be fearful of putting Johnson on the field in important situations and downs. The other thing that really jumped out about Johnson is his conditioning. There's nothing head coach Mike Tomlin wants more from a rookie than proper NFL-caliber conditioning. This will be even more important in July when training camp starts, but if this week is any indication, Johnson takes his conditioning very seriously and this is going to translate into early opportunities. Pittsburgh feels like they got a bargain and a special player in Johnson and early returns are in and they might have nailed this one.

Bears HC Ben Johnson explains how valuable Case Keenum has been The Chicago Bears have rolled with undrafted free agent Tyson Bagent as their backup quarterback for the past two seasons. But this offseason they decided to bring in competition with the signing of journeyman Case Keenum, who's the most experienced quarterback the team has had over the past couple of seasons. During his 13-year NFL career, Keenum has played for eight different teams, including multiple stints with the Houston Texans, where he started his career, and the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams. Keenum entered the league as an undrafted free agent back in 2012, and has thrown for over 15,000 yards and 79 touchdowns in his career. His best season came in 2017 with the Minnesota Vikings, when he led them to the NFC Championship Game. Bringing in a veteran like Keenum will not only help Williams but will also help new Bears head coach Ben Johnson with getting down communication and helping install his offensive scheme. Johnson explained how he feels Keenum will be able to help Williams, and how he feels the work between the two has been productive already. "Case has been phenomenal," Johnson said. "I haven't been with him in the past, but he came highly recommended from a number of people that I trust. He's got skins on the wall. I mean, he's been to playoff games, he's won playoff games. He's done it at a high level. He's been the number two quarterback at a number of different places as well. His experience level is off the charts. He's seen a little bit of everything that this league has to offer. "I can say from my experience of being in the room with him, he finds a good way to ask questions that I might not, or Declan or J.T. – we might not have provided the answer to prior. He does a good job of filling those gaps. And then of course, we're constrained so much by the time limits in the springtime that he's able to help the process when we're not in there as coaches." Keenum not only fills a spot on the roster and in the quarterbacks room, but as Johnson explained, Keenum has also served as extension of the Bears coaching staff. They'll need all the tools available to them this offseason, leading into training camp and the regular season. And with coaches having limited communication with players, a rapport between Williams and Keenum could go a long way for both quarterbacks and their new coaching staff.
