Rap megastar Kendrick Lamar took the stage to perform at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show on Sunday as the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles battle for the title on the gridiron.
But the Grammy Award-winning rapper wasn't the only one to perform on Sunday night at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
Before the teams hit the field, Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty, Lauren Daigle and Ledisi performed in the pregame show. All of them are Louisiana natives.

Kendrick Lamar was tapped to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX halftime show in September.
The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation, who organize the massive football championship event, unveiled the 22-time Grammy Award-winning artist as this year's performer with a video of him launching footballs toward the camera from a machine used in training.
"My name's Kendrick Lamar and I'll be performing at Super Bowl LIX," he said in the video. "Will you be pulling up? I hope so. You know, there's only one opportunity to win a championship. No round 2's."

This is not the first time Lamar has graced the halftime show stage. He performed at Super Bowl 2022 during an ensemble act that also featured the likes of Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem and 50 Cent.
Lamar was joined on stage by special guest SZA. The two are set to go on a 19-city North American tour that kicks off in April. The duo has collaborated on songs "30 for 30," "luther," "Gloria," "All the Stars" and "Doves in the Wind."

In addition to SZA, actor Samuel L. Jackson, dressed as Uncle Sam, took the stage at the start of the halftime show. He appeared several times during Lamar's performance.

Weinstein jury set to keep deliberating after tensions spill into public
NEW YORK -- Jurors in Harvey Weinsteinn's sex crimes retrial appear to be moving past some interpersonal tensions and focusing on one of his three accusers as deliberations stretch into a fourth day Tuesday. At the end of Monday's session, jurors requested to start off Tuesday with electronic copies of emails and other evidence pertaining to Jessica Mann — the accuser with arguably the most complex history with Weinstein. During days of testimony, Mann said the Oscar-winning movie producer raped her in 2013 amid a consensual relationship that continued for years afterward. Weinstein's lawyers emphasized that she kept seeing him, accepting invitations and sending warm messages to him. Mann said she 'compartmentalized' the pain he caused her. Weinstein, 73, has pleaded not guilty to all the charges in the case. In addition to the rape charge, he's accused of sexually assaulting two other women, Mimi Haley and Kaja Sokola. Weinstein didn't testify during the current trial, but maintained through his attorneys that he had completely consensual encounters with his accusers, who wanted his help building show business careers.
