Richard Ashcroft to release new album Lovin' You in October
The former Verve frontman will release his seventh solo record on October 3 – marking his first all-new album since Natural Rebel in 2018.

Richard Ashcroft has announced the new album Lovin' You.
The former Verve frontman will release his seventh solo record on October 3 – marking his first all-new album since Natural Rebel in 2018.
The Lovin' You album opens with its first single Lover, which is currently being played on radio stations across the UK and interpolates the Joan Armatrading track Love And Affection.
The single sets the standard for a record that finds Ashcroft at the height of his powers. The album spans the many facets of his sound, from his classic string-soaked acoustic balladry and anthemic indie-rock – through to flashes of Americana, soul and glitch electro beats.
Its themes are intimate and personal, dominated by love, romance and affecting messages of support for those struggling with life's challenges.
The songs on Lovin' You have been written by Ashcroft, who has co-produced the album with Chris Potter and Emre Ramazanoglu.

There is also the track I'm A Rebel, which has been co-written and produced with Mirwais of Madonna fame.
It marks the first new music from Ashcroft since he re-recorded a cover of The Verve track Sonnet for the John Lewis Christmas advert last year.
Lovin' You will be released on standard black vinyl, CD and digital formats along with a range of exclusive vinyl variants – his official store offers a neon orange vinyl, Amazon UK have a regular orange version and select independent stores will stock a blue version.
Ashcroft will be supporting Oasis on the UK and Ireland dates of their upcoming Oasis Live '25 Tour and spoke of his excitement at getting to open for Noel and Liam Gallagher's first live gigs together for 16 years.
The 53-year-old musician said when his slot was confirmed last year: "As a fan from day one I was buzzing for many reasons when the news of Oasis' return was announced.
"I can say with no exaggeration that the songwriting talent of Noel and Liam's pure spirit as a lead singer helped to inspire me to create some of my best work.

"It was the perfection of Live Forever that forced me to try and write my own. They dared to be great, made the dreams we had real and I will always remember those days with joy."
He added: "Now it's time to create more memories and I'm ready to bring it. See you next summer. Music is power."

However, one parent has revealed a brilliant "hack" which she claims could potentially save families hundreds of pounds during days out. "This is one of the best money saving tips for the summer holidays," declared mum-of-two Amy Samantha in a TikTok video. "As a family of four, sometimes we're looking at £40 for lunch out – so this is what we do for the majority of our days out and it only takes about five minutes to prepare in the morning." Content cannot be displayed without consent Samantha Ann's clip continued as she opened a tin of hot dogs from her kitchen cupboards whilst demonstrating her technique. The mum then prepared the sausages, which cost just £2.50, at home before placing them – along with their brine - into a flask. Not forgetting the tomato ketchup and American mustard, Samantha Ann packed them into her rucksack alongside a packet of hot dog rolls. "It's easy to carry around like this," she explained. "No giant cool box is needed and as you can see, my kids absolutely love them. "It's a summer holiday winner from Ye Olde Oake [hot dog brand]," she announced as her children could be seen enjoying their meal on a picnic blanket. One TikTok user, in response to the idea, praised it as: "Genius... I look at the insane prices charged today and just don't understand how people afford it. Growing up we always took packed lunches/picnics with us, it was a real treat to go to a cafe or restaurant. It's ironic that things have turned full circle." Another person concurred: "Good on you your saving loads. Why give money to use expensive places when you have a winner there." A third added: "This is a fantastic idea thank you for sharing. Hot food in the go." Whilst a fourth TikTok user simply stated: "Good on you, it's so expensive now for families." Earlier this month, reports indicated that families, on average, will spend an additional £611 over the holiday period, adding strain to already tight household budgets. Article continues below A survey commissioned by Utility Warehouse, involving 1,000 parents with children aged 5 to 14, revealed that costs can escalate even further for those booking clubs and camps, adding another £385 to the bill. Day trips are expected to cost an extra £199, while food and snacks alone could increase expenses by £401. Steve Long, spokesperson for Utility Warehouse, commented: "With a mix of day trips, summer camps and even an increase in cost for keeping the kids fed, these additions soon add up, but there are some great ways they can save money. Shopping around for bargains and using money saving devices like rewards and cashback cards can be a big help."

What time will Oasis take to stage at Murrayfield and is there a curfew?
Oasis' three sold-out shows in Scotland are fast approaching and fans might want to know what the timings are Fans have been waiting since 2009 to hear Oasis play live again. Now, the band is ready to delight audiences once more with Oasis Live '25 Tour. Dubbed a "global cultural phenomenon," the tour got underway in Cardiff earlier this month. Since then, Liam and Noel Gallagher have entertained audiences in Manchester's Heaton Park and London's Wembley Stadium, which the Record reviewed here. The gigs have been attended by hundreds of thousands of revellers. And Scots won't be missing out on the presumably once-in-a-life-time music event, either. On August 8, 9, and 12, 200,000 music fans will descend on Murrayfield Stadium to hear tunes like 'Wonderwall' and 'Live Forever'. But some might already be wondering when they'll need to head for the train or bus home when the last song plays out. So, in terms of timings, when could the Murrayfield gigs end, and will there be a curfew for gig-goers? Well, Murrayfield's website states that organisers "do not know the time that Oasis will be on stage yet". They assured the public that they will "share this and when [they] are able to". However, while official stage times have yet to be published, organisers expect gates will open at 5pm on each show day, with the curfew expected to be 10.30pm, according to Murrayfield Community Council. However, it is worth noting that Wembley's curfew changed between the Oasis concert landing on a weekday and a weekend. On the Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26, the curfew was 10.45pm, while it was set at 10.30pm for Wednesday's show, July 30, and tonight's gig, Sunday, August 3. It is only a slight amendment of 15 minutes, but something to be aware of for Edinburgh. Similarly, gates opened for the weekend shows at 5pm, whereas the Sunday show will see attendees start to stream in at 4.30pm. In any case, every venue recommends arriving early to allow time for security checks and to enjoy the full live experience, including two incredible support acts, The Verve's Richard Ashcroft and Liverpool band Cast. Both have history with Oasis, with Britpop band Cast having supported the brothers previously back in 1996 at Knebworth. Richard Ashcroft has also been involved in a collab with Liam Gallagher on stage in recent years.
