Search underway after 13-year-old girl reported missing in Sumter County
Crews are out searching Thursday morning after a 13-year-old girl was reported missing in Sumter County.
Deputies said Addisyn Brown was last seen around 9 p.m. Wednesday in the area of CR-645 near Nobleton.
She is around 5 feet 5 inches tall and 120 pounds with brown hair and amber eyes.
Deputies said she was last seen wearing Pajama pants and a dark-colored shirt, but it's unknown if she is still dressed the same way.
Investigators said she may have a black and white backpack and a flowered bag.
The Sumter County Sheriff's Office said it has K9s tracking for her on the ground, along with a helicopter and drones searching from the air.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 352-793-2621.

‘We can't hide kids:' Sumter County superintendent promises change after student records scandal
Sumter County Schools Superintendent Logan Brown greeted reporters at the door first thing Monday morning and made no secret of his reasoning to call a rare press conference at the small district: a need to show change was coming as he focused on rebuilding trust. 'We can't hide kids,' he said. 'We have to educate them to the highest standard, and that's exactly what we're going to do going forward.' Less than a year into his tenure, Brown accepted responsibility and blame for a scheme made public by a 53-page report released by the Florida Department of Education last week that said for six years, the district falsified student records in order to boost its ratings and funding. The plan centered around a program named SOAR. According to the report, the district moved approximately 200 low-performing students out of classrooms in their zoned school and into virtual classes. The investigation found that in some cases, the district never notified parents. Brown said several staff had been terminated and the administrators involved had left before he took over. He said the district would not have to give any money back. 'This is something that happened in the past, and we want to go forward and focus on the great things that we're doing,' he said. 'The only thing that I can commit to you as the leader of the school district now is that this will never happen again.' Online and in-person Monday, residents celebrated the notes of transparency the district was sounding. Mistrust has run deep in some corners of the county, and the response suggested Brown was moving the district in the right direction. Ironically, three of the four schools involved increased their ratings after SOAR ended and students returned to their normal classrooms. Two of the schools are now A-rated. Ringleader of bank fraud and identity theft scheme sentenced to federal prison
GEORGIA () — The final defendant and ringleader of a bank fraud and aggravated identity theft scheme involving stolen checks and a fake online recruiting website was sentenced to federal prison today. Jalen Tylee Hill, aka 'Roscoe Hill,' 26, of Americus, was sentenced to serve 81 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release. According to court documents and statements made in court, the Sumter County Sheriff's Office received a complaint from a local church in December 2021 about mail theft and forged checks. During the investigation, law enforcement discovered that numerous checks had been stolen out of mailboxes at residential and commercial locations in Georgia. The checks were then forged and deposited into other bank accounts. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Sumter County Sheriff's Office arrest man on multiple counts of bank fraud; identity theft Investigators discovered that Hill directed the scheme and would recruit people via Facebook and determined that in six months, Hill stole hundreds of pieces of mail, participated in at least 68 incidents of bank fraud, and unlawfully used debit cards belonging to other individuals at least 14 occasions. 'Schemes to defraud and steal from citizens will not be tolerated in the Middle District of Georgia,' said Acting U.S. Attorney C. Shanelle Booker. 'This case serves as a reminder for all of us to be as vigilant as possible with what we share online and monitor our financial accounts. I commend the good investigative work of our local and federal law enforcement partners for helping to prevent any more people and businesses from falling victim to this fraud.' 14 others were also convicted for their participation in the scheme. OBN recognizes K9 for intercepting 822 lbs. of black market marijuana
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotic is giving one of their K9s a shout-out after he intercepted more than 800 pounds of black market marijuana. According to the OBN, K9 Charlie, a.k.a The Snitch, helped find 822 pounds of marijuana being trafficked in Oklahoma in the back of a truck.
