'So when it comes to me and Mercedes, we never had any beef,' Zelina Vega said. 'That's what's so funny. Back in the day, I had done an interview, which I remember talking to Naomi about this a long, long time ago. I was like, it'd be really cool to get, cause I had known her prior for a while.
'So it was like, to get into, like, a thing with her. Like, hopefully we can get into something and WWE. Like, my brain was, I need to get to WWE any way possible. She's one of the top girls. I want to get in the ring with her she's dope, I want to do this. She was cool with it. People use that clip as, like, oh, my God, they've had beef for forever, blah, blah, blah, and I'm like, I love that I convinced you all of that. I love that for me.
'But no none of us have ever had any beef. It's so funny to me that I'm the common denominator between all of the beef, apparently. I'm just like, well. She trains with my cousin. Like, what? They're trying to find any little thing. Like, if I genuinely hated somebody, do you think I'd be cool with that?' [H/T: Fightful]

Fan-Favorite WWE Tag Team Set To Reunite For One More Match
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. For the first time in over a decade, one of the most decorated and influential tag teams in wrestling history has officially reunited. On the August 13th episode of AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage joined forces once again, and their first match back has been set for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. The emotional reunion is the culmination of months of storyline teases. The two lifelong friends, who were recently feuding with each other, have now come together to fight a common enemy. The Reunion The main event segment of Dynamite saw Adam Copeland defeat Stokely Hathaway. After the match, Copeland was brutally attacked by FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler). As FTR was setting up for another attack, Christian Cage's music hit, and he stormed the ring with a spiked piece of wood to make the save. After chasing off FTR and his own former protégé, Nick Wayne, Cage stood face-to-face with Copeland. He then handed the weapon to his old friend, and the two embraced in the center of the ring to a massive ovation from the Chicago crowd. Christian Cage and Adam Copeland hugged it out! ALL OF THE FEELS!! #AEWDynamite — Fightful Wrestling (@Fightful) August 14, 2025 It was then announced that Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will team up for the first time since 2011. They will face Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view on Sunday, August 24, in London, England. EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY - AUGUST 03: Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin of the Tag Team Motor City Machine Guns enter the ring before the WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs Tag Team Championship match during the WWE 2025 SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium on August 03, 2025 in East Rutherford, New Jersey More A Legendary Partnership Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, known for decades as Edge and Christian, are one of the most iconic tag teams of all time. The childhood friends are seven-time WWE World Tag Team Champions. Alongside The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz, they revolutionized tag team wrestling in the Attitude Era with the creation of the legendary Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (TLC) matches. After both men went on to have separate, Hall of Fame-worthy singles careers, they found themselves in AEW together in recent years. This led to a brief but personal feud against each other, which makes their reunion to fight a common enemy in FTR—the team that brutally injured Copeland earlier this year—all the more impactful. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match A Stacked Forbidden Door Card The historic reunion match is another major addition to an already loaded card for the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event. The show will also feature "Hangman" Adam Page defending the AEW World Championship against MJF. In another major bout, Kazuchika Okada will defend the AEW Unified Championship against Swerve Strickland. The event will also see Japanese legend Hiroshi Tanahashi compete in his final UK match, a ten-man Lights Out Steel Cage match. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

Vince McMahon Claims N-Word Abuser Hulk Hogan 'Wasn't A Racist,' X Says That's Cap Brother
Source: Getty Images / Vince McMahon / Hulk Hogan Vince McMahon has come out of his cave to put on his cape for the late Hulk Hogan, whose racist past continues to haunt him after his death. In a recent interview with TMZ's Harvey Levin, former WWE CEO Vince McMahon claimed that the late Hulk Hogan 'wasn't a racist,' even though he described himself once on tape as 'racist to a point' and used the N-word. He also admitted that Hogan 'said some racist things.' McMahon, who has been off the radar and out of the spotlight since he was aired out for his abhorrent behavior, did admit that Hogan's past remarks were 'racist,' while adding they were 'unforgivable,' but said in his opinion that it was 'not like him.' We care about your data. See our privacy policy. Levin also pressed McMahon about welcoming Hogan back into the WWE fold after previously distancing away from him, going as far as removing him from the WWE Hall of Fame. Hogan did apologize for his remarks, but pretty much doubled down after aligning himself with the MAGA movement, which doesn't hide its white pride bullsh*t disguised as an 'America first' agenda when he proudly stumped for the Racist-In-Chief, Donald Trump, showing up at one of Felon 47's rallies. 'I knew he wasn't a racist,' McMahon said. 'I'd been with him for so many years. He wasn't a racist. He said some racist things, and he should pay for that, and he did. But in the end, I think that everyone saw the real Hulk Hogan, Terry Bollea, and they felt [like] 'Now, wait a minute. This guy, he doesn't act like a racist.' He's not a racist. We all make mistakes. That was a big on,e but he wasn't a racist.' The conversation with McMahon is part of TMZ's The Real Hulk Hogan special that also features appearances from Sylvester Stallone, Mick Foley, and others. Following Hogan's death as a result of a heart attack, his 'complicated' legacy became a topic of discussion, with many body slamming him for being a racist. Still, that didn't stop people from somehow managing to separate the man from his racism, and celebrating him for being an influential figure and icon in the world of professional wrestling. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was one of the many paying their respects to the disgraced wrestler, calling him his 'childhood hero.' In response to the clip featuring McMahon, users on X have been calling C A P, while wondering what the hell is going on with his physical appearance. ' I was watching the TMZ special on Hulk Hogan. Vince McMahon looks like he's embalmed,' one post on X, formerly Twitter, read. Others electronically rolled their eyes at McMahon's claims that while Hogan said racist things, he wasn't a racist. Well, there ain't a damn thing complicated over here, we're just saying. You can see more reactions in the gallery below.
