The Five Jewellery Trends That'll Instantly Complete Your Summer Looks

The Five Jewellery Trends That'll Instantly Complete Your Summer Looks

Elle2 days ago

In the heat of summer, sometimes the best outfits are the simplest ones. Not to take away from the major fashion trends taking over the season, but when it's hotter than hot, a simple T-shirt and denim shorts, a sundress, or another easy wardrobe staple will do just fine. Of course, if you're anything like me, every outfit—no matter how simple or effortless—needs a little
something
to give it that extra flair. And in my humble opinion, there's no better way to do that than to pile on the jewellery.
Whether it's an oversized, statement-making pendant, colorful beads, or sophisticated sterling silver pieces, jewellery is, without a doubt, one of the best ways to take your standard ensembles to the next level. An easy tank top is great on its own—but add a head-turning necklace? Instantly cool. As for the

Vintage-Inspired
Among the It girls, vintage-inspired jewellery—you know, the kind that looks flea-market-worthy but better—is the talk of the town. Some brands that have been doing this exceptionally well are Juju Vera, Dorsey, and Prounis. And in general, styles that feel like a callback to the '80s (i.e. button earrings and cigar bands) are having a particular moment right now.

Mismatched Earrings
Why sport two of the same earrings when you can opt for a bit of variety? Taking a page from the Chloé and Fendi spring/summer 2025 runways, one of the coolest ways to style your earrings is to mix and match different styles and lengths. Consider a triple ear cuff with a drop earring in the same material or a bold stud with a chandelier earring. And if you aren't
quite
sure about your pairings, plenty of brands offer mismatched pairings to get you started.

Charms and Pendants
Cool girls everywhere are sporting oversized pendants and eye-catching charms. Perhaps it's due to the types of shirts and blouses (even a coolly unbuttoned Oxford shirt) that showcase the collarbone or just the air of summer, but these are perfect for Instagram-worthy warm-weather vacays and alfresco dinners, no?

‘Rose Hill' Romance Series Is Becoming a Show—And Fans Can't Wait

Elsie Silver's popular Rose Hill series will make its debut on screen, Variety revealed Thursday. Amazon MGM Studios is set to develop the show and bring the best-selling author along for the ride! There isn't information on the cast and release date yet, but Silver shared the news on Instagram with her 312,000 followers writing, 'In a true 'pinch me' moment I am beyond thrilled to share that my Rose Hill series is in development for television! I am honored to be working with an incredible team at @amazonmgmstudios and @templehillent. I know that these characters are in the best hands and cannot wait to see this very special town come to life.' Silver will be the executive producer of the show, along with Temple Hill's Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and James Seidman. Annika Patton of Temple Hill will produce the show, according to Variety. The Rose Hill show's official logline is: 'Welcome to Rose Hill, a small town nestled in the Rocky Mountains, where crystal-clear lakes, iconic honky-tonks, and wide-open skies create the perfect backdrop for creativity, reinvention—and falling in love. In this warm, sexy, and heartfelt ensemble drama, both lifelong locals and big-city transplants discover that love is messiest when it's real, and family is often the one you build.' Untitled Entertainment, on behalf of Kimberly Bower at Park, Fine & Bower Literary Management, brokered the deal, according to Variety, and comes on the heels of Amazon's recent triumph with shows based on bestselling novels. The success of Amazon's 'Daisy Jones & the Six,' 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' and 'Reacher' are good omens for 'Rose Hill's' upcoming release. The Rose Hill book series is set in the picturesque, small town of Rose Hill, nestled in the Rocky Mountains. Each stand-alone novel follows different characters as they navigate the struggles, successes, and steamy love stories that Rose Hill brings. Currently, there are three books in the Rose Hill series–Wild Love (2024), Wild Eyes (2024) and Wild Side (2025)–but a fourth book, Wild Card, is expected to be released in September 2025, according to Goodreads. The series's fast popularity gained attention from readers across the country, making a strong fan base and following. According to Amazon, Wild Love and Wild Eyes both achieved Sunday Times bestseller status shortly after their releases. The first novel, Wild Love, follows Ford Grant, a billionaire seeking refuge and the chance to follow his dreams in Rose Hill. His plans go awry when parenthood and a love interest enter the mix. Silver's second novel, Wild Eyes, traces country music star Skylar Stone through her journey of heartbreak, personal growth, and new love. The most recent novel in the series, Wild Side, explores parenting and loss through the complex relationship between Tabitha and Rhys. More details are (hopefully) coming soon about the show, but in the meantime, fans can celebrate their favorite series finally coming to life… and eventually screens! Featured pricing is subject to change. Bachman-Turner Overdrive is is about to 'Let It Ride' yet again. The classic rockers just added eight fall shows to their ongoing 2025 'Roll On Down The Highway Tour' including October gigs in both New Jersey and New York. Those Tri-state concerts go down at Englewood, NJ's Bergen Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, Oct. 29, Atlantic City, NJ's Borgata Casino Event Center on Friday, Oct. 31 and North Tonawanda, NY's Riviera Theatre on Monday, Nov. 3. Prior to these newly-added autumn gigs, the group that brought the world 'Takin' Care of Business' and 'You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet' co-headline a run of summer gigs with Marshall Tucker Band and either Jefferson Starship or The Outlaws. They also have a handful of solo headlining gigs and a one-off with Blue Öyster Cult and Foghat lined up over the next few months as well. 'We're playing all the hits, as well as diving deep into the album cuts,' Bachman said in an official statement. '…the response from fans has been incredible.' In addition to all of the staples you know and love, it's also likely Bachman and co. will play their recently-released, nostalgia-tinged single '60 Years Ago.' The song is the band's first new release since 1996 when they put out a Europe-only cover of 'The House of the Rising Sun.' Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming Bachman-Turner Overdrive shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for their co-headlining tour is Friday, June 13. Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand. They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event. Bachman-Turner Overdrive set list The band rocked Medford, MA's Chevalier Theatre last March. 'Takin' Care of Business' Bachman-Turner Overdrive new music On March 28, 2025, BTO dropped their first single in nearly 30 years. The nearly four-minute barroom rocker — appropriately dubbed '60 Years Ago' — name checks Canadian rock heroes Burton Cummings, Buffalo Springfield, The Guess Who and more. As an added bonus, the raucous ditty features a scorching guitar solo courtesy of The Godfather of Grunge himself, Mr. Neil Young. The song may be a last gasp for the aging rockers but also serves as proof positive that they still have gas left in the tank. If you'd like to hear the rallying cry of a tune for yourself, you can find '60 Years Ago' here. More about Bachman-Turner Overdrive In May 2024, The Post spoke with Randy Bachman about the origins of their classic 'Takin' Care Of Business,' new music and career highlights. 'One night I'm driving to a gig in Vancouver and a guy comes on the radio station. He says 'Hi, this is Daryl B and we're taking care of business,'' the 81-year-old told us about how the iconic tune came to be. Bachman wrote the title down and made the band play the song on the spot — unprepared and unrehearsed (!) — that night. Yes, the memorable call and response 'Takin' care of business/Every day/Takin' care of business/Every way/Takin' care of business/It's all mine/Takin' care of business/And workin' over time' was improvised. 'The crowd went crazy,' Bachman smiled. 'We recorded it two weeks later and that's what you hear.' For more stories like these, you can find our interview with Bachman here. Classic rockers on tour in 2025 BTO aren't the only rock icons who took the world by storm in the '70s performing live this year. MTV's the State Look Back on Early Years in New Documentary: ‘It Was Intense in Every Way'

The MTV sketch comedy show The State ran for a mere 24 episodes between January 1994 and August 1995. And if you weren't a teenager or young adult during that narrow window of time, odds are high you've never even heard of it. But the show left an enormous cultural footprint and launched the careers of some of the greatest comedic minds working today, including Thomas Lennon, Michael Showalter, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Ken Marino, David Wain, Ben Garant, and Kevin Allison, and ultimately led to Wet Hot American Summer, Reno 911!, Children's Hospital, They Came Together, and many other brilliant films and TV shows of the past few three decades. The new documentary Long Live the State, premiering this week at the Tribeca Film Festival, goes back to their roots as an NYU sketch comedy troupe in the Eighties, and traces their entire saga to the present day. It features new interviews with all 11 members of the group. More from Rolling Stone New Doc Explores How Julia Sweeney's 'SNL' Favorite Pat Became a Complex Nonbinary Icon USC's SoCal VoCals Are Pitch Perfect in 'Just Sing' Documentary Trailer 'The Four Seasons' Gives Kerri Kenney-Silver Her Long-Overdue Close-Up 'I've been a fan of The State since my freshman year in high school when the first season premiered,' Long Live The State Director Matthew Perniciaro tells Rolling Stone. 'I was just so inspired by their courage to be weird, unapologetic and different, which was something you just didn't really see on TV at that time. I grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina as a kid who didn't always feel like I fit in with those around me, but I knew that if I met someone who liked The State and they got it the way I got it, then those were my kind of people. It had a significant impact on my life and it's a story I've wanted to tell for many years.' In this exclusive clip from the movie, the group remembers the grimy city they encountered when they first arrived at NYU. 'New York in the Eighties was intense, in every way, in the best possible ways, and the worst possible says,' says Kenney-Silver, who landed the role of a lifetime earlier this year in The Four Seasons. 'There was so much happening.' The experience of making their own show for MTV directly out of college was a whirlwind. And when it ended, the group wasn't always on the same page about how to carry forward. The tension peaked when only a subset of them signed onto the Comedy Central show Viva Variety. In putting the film together, Perniciaro discovered that they all remembers things a bit differently. 'You can have 11 people in a room, all witnessing the same thing and they all have different memories of what happened because that's how they perceived it,' he says. 'I wanted to make sure the film embraced how different members may have felt differently in each of those situations and give people their own agency to discuss how that felt to them on a personal level, instead of one unified public statement.' The difficult years are largely just bad memories for the group now, and they remain close friends. They even went on tour a couple of years back when the SAG strike shut down Hollywood, and they suddenly had space on their calendars. 'The State is like a family,' says Perniciaro. 'They love each other like a family, they've fought with one another like a family and they've shared some of the most important moments of each of their lives with one another, the same way a family does. To be in one another's lives from such a young age and for such a long period of time now, over thirty-five years, it really couldn't be any other way and that's what I wanted this film to be, kind of like a family scrapbook that not only celebrates the work they've created together, but the people behind that work.' { pmcCnx({ settings: { plugins: { pmcAtlasMG: { iabPlcmt: 1, }, pmcCnx: { singleAutoPlay: 'auto' } } }, playerId: "d762a038-c1a2-4e6c-969e-b2f1c9ec6f8a", mediaId: "43045ddb-a878-423a-a98c-b5c4f829b501", }).render("connatix_player_43045ddb-a878-423a-a98c-b5c4f829b501_4"); }); Best of Rolling Stone The 50 Best 'Saturday Night Live' Characters of All Time Denzel Washington's Movies Ranked, From Worst to Best 70 Greatest Comedies of the 21st Century
