She beat world number one Lara Cvjetko in the final, with the Croatian judoka settling for silver as in 2022.
Olympic silver medallist Murao, 24, won an all-Japanese final, defeating defending world champion Goki Tajima on penalties after a duel of 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
Georgia's Lasha Bekauri was eliminated in the round of 16. At 24, he still has no world gold medals, despite his two Olympic titles.

River Plate ease past Urawa to start Club World Cup tilt
The Argentine side overpowered their Japanese opponents at Lumen Field under the Seattle sun, in an entertaining battle. Under 12,000 fans attended the clash at the 69,000-capacity stadium but those who were there, many travelling from Japan and Argentina, created a vibrant atmosphere at both ends of the stadium. The Argentine, who will join Spanish giants Madrid after the tournament, was otherwise quieter than expected. The Red Diamonds, who won the Asian Champions League in 2022 to qualify as the only Japanese team at the tournament, shot themselves in the foot at the start of the second half. Marius Hoibraaten sent a foolish back-header towards goalkeeper Shusaku Nishikawa, without noticing Sebastian Driussi sneaking in behind. The striker bravely nodded home past the helpless stopper but hurt himself as he fell and had to be replaced. Matsuo pulled the Red Diamonds back into the game from the penalty spot after Acuna's ungainly mistimed barge on Takuro Kaneko, sending Armani the wrong way. Maximiliano Meza put the game to bed for River with a header from Acuna's corner after he was left unmarked. "Unfortunately we lost today but we're going to learn a lot and take that into the next match," said Matsuo. Polish Urawa coach Maciej Skorza was unhappy with the defeat. "The result is disappointing, what can I say?" he mused. "We've done a lot of work, put in a lot of effort, and the beginning of this game was far from what we expected. "The second half was better but the ease with which we conceded was too much." Elsewhere in Group E Champions League runners-up Inter Milan face Mexican team Monterrey later Tuesday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

Alcaraz wins testing Queen's opener, Draper cruises
The Spaniard, back on grass for the first time since winning his second Wimbledon title last year, beat his 86th-ranked opponent 6-4, 7-6 (7/4) on a sweaty day in west London. Alcaraz, who overcame Jannik Sinner in a five-set thriller at Roland Garros earlier this month, edged ahead after a hard-fought break in the seventh game of the first set. Walton clung on his next service game but the 2023 Queen's champion closed out the set on his own serve. The Australian rallied impressively and had two set points to level the match but could not covert either of them and Alcaraz pulled level at 5-5. The left-hander, who has previously beaten Sinner and Alcaraz at Queen's, won 93 percent of first-serve points and did not face a break point in a dominant display. Draper, who will be under huge pressure to perform in front of home fans at Wimbledon, is chasing his second title on grass after winning in Stuttgart last year. He will next face Alexei Popyrin in the second round after the Australian beat compatriot Aleksandar Vukic. Earlier, Czech world number 30 Jiri Lehecka upset rusty fifth seed Alex de Minaur 6-4, 6-2 in the opening match on the Andy Murray Arena.
