Former Arizona Cardinals employee sues team owner Michael Bidwill
The Brief
A former employee with the Arizona Cardinals has filed a lawsuit against team owner Michael Bidwill.
The lawsuit was filed by Bidwill's former assistant.
PHOENIX - We have obtained documents surrounding a lawsuit that was filed against Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill.
The complaint was filed by Bidwill's former assistant, who says Bidwill 'unmercifully harassed' her to 'drive her to leave the Cardinals.'
What we know
The newly-filed complaint for damages says the plaintiff, 54-year-old Brittany Neuheisel, was hired in 2019 as personal assistant to Bidwill.
In the lawsuit, Neuheisel says Bidwill 'tormented' her for failing to 'disavow members of her own family,' and refusing to 'participate in illegal conduct.'
The lawsuit accuses Bidwill of disparaging Neuheisel for how she raises her family, allegedly calling her an 'enabler,' saying her relationship with her kids and grandkids was affecting her work performance.
The complaint says Neuheisel was also tasked with completing federal and international disclosures related to Bidwill's private airplane travel. She claims Bidwill demanded that she provide false information on the forms.
The lawsuit says Bidwill referred to Neuheisel's Catholic practices when she objected to those instructions, allegedly telling her 'do it and then go to confession.'
In early 2021, Neuheisel claims Bidwill told her to ship a firearm via FedEx to an acquaintance, and when she told him about restrictions on shipping the gun, he stated "that's not what I asked. Just ship it."
The complaint also accuses Bidwill of trying to replace Neuheisel with someone 'young, beautiful and athletic.'
According to the complaint, the Cardinals' VP of Executive Operations told Neuheisel it was her job to find Bidwill a girlfriend.
When the organization hired a woman to serve as the Cardinals' Director of Events, she took over some of Neuheisel's duties, and from that point, Bidwill verbally abused her nearly every day, per the complaint.
We reached out to the Cardinals for comment on the lawsuit, and a spokesperson for the organization replied with a statement.
What they're saying
"Earlier this week, the Cardinals received an email from a California-based plaintiff's lawyer. In it, he threatened to file a lawsuit unless the team agreed to his demand for a substantial amount of money by 5:00 p.m. the next day. The team refused, and the lawyer has now filed the Complaint. The Cardinals were surprised by and strongly deny the allegations made in this lawsuit, and intend to defend the case on its merits in the appropriate forum. As this is now pending litigation, the team will refrain from further comment."

ICE arrests 'worst of the worst' illegal aliens in Los Angeles while protesters advocate for criminals: DHS
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents captured the "worst of the worst" criminal illegal aliens in Los Angeles during operations on Friday, including murderers, sex offenders and other violent criminals, the agency said on Sunday. ICE agents carried out operations at businesses across Los Angeles on Friday, which sparked protests and clashes outside multiple locations, resulting in authorities throwing flash bangs to disperse the crowd. About 45 people were arrested across several locations, including two Home Depot stores, a store in the fashion district and a doughnut shop. "Why do Governor Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass care more about violent murderers and sex offenders than they do about protecting their own citizens?" Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin asked. "These rioters in Los Angeles are fighting to keep rapists, murderers, and other violent criminals loose on Los Angeles streets. Instead of rioting, they should be thanking ICE officers every single day who wake up and make our communities safer." Among those arrested was 49-year-old Cuong Chanh Phan, an illegal alien from Vietnam with a criminal history that includes a conviction for second-degree murder. Phan was convicted of shooting up a high school graduation party after a dispute, killing an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old. Seven others were injured in the incident, according to DHS. ICE also arrested Rolando Veneracion-Enriquez, a 55-year-old illegal alien from the Philippines who was convicted of burglary, sexual penetration with a foreign object and assault with intent to commit rape. Lionel Sanchez-Laguna, a 55-year-old Mexican national, was arrested by ICE on Friday. His criminal history includes discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling and vehicle, battery on spouse or cohabitant, willful cruelty to child, driving under the influence, assault with a semi-automatic firearm and personal use of a firearm. Another illegal immigrant who was arrested was 44-year-old Armando Ordaz, of Mexico. DHS said Ordaz's criminal history includes sexual battery, receiving known or stolen property and petty theft. Francisco Sanchez-Arguello, 38, of Mexico was arrested on Friday and had previously been arrested for grand theft larceny and possession of a prohibited weapon, DHS said. Authorities arrested 42-year-old Jose Gregorio Medranda Ortiz, an Ecuadorian national who had previously been arrested and convicted of conspiracy to possess five kilograms or more of cocaine with distribution intent while on a vessel in Tampa, Florida. ICE arrested Victor Mendoza-Aguilar, 32, of Mexico, who had also previously been convicted of crimes, including possession of unlawful paraphernalia, possession of controlled substances, assault with a deadly weapon and obstruction of a public officer. Delfino Aguilar-Martinez, 51, of Mexico, was arrested Friday and had previously been charged and convicted with assault with a deadly weapon with great bodily injury, DHS said. DHS also shared that 43-year-old Jose Cristobal Hernandez-Buitron, an illegal alien from Peru, was one of those arrested Friday and had been previously convicted of robbery. Honduran national Jordan Mauricio Meza-Esquibel, 32, was also arrested during the operation. He was previously convicted of distributing narcotics and domestic violence. And finally, DHS said 26-year-old Jesus Alan Hernandez-Morales, a Mexican national, was arrested and had previously been convicted of conspiring to transport an illegal alien into the U.S.

The President Is Playing With Fire, Which Is Just How He Likes It
It's hard to avoid the conclusion that the Trump administration is spoiling for a fight on America's streets. On Saturday, after a protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests degenerated into violence, the administration reacted as if the country were on the brink of war. The violence was unacceptable. Civil disobedience is honorable; violence is beyond the pale. But so far, thankfully, the violence has been localized and, crucially, well within the capacity of state and city officials to manage. But don't tell that to the Trump administration. Its language was out of control. Stephen Miller, one of President Trump's closest advisers and the single most important architect (aside from Trump himself) of the administration's immigration policies, posted one word: 'Insurrection.' Vice President JD Vance wrote on X, 'One of the main technical issues in the immigration judicial battles is whether Biden's border crisis counted as an 'invasion.'' That statement set the stage. He wants courts to believe we're facing an invasion, and any disturbance will do to make his point. 'So now,' Vance continued, 'we have foreign nationals with no legal right to be in the country waving foreign flags and assaulting law enforcement. If only we had a good word for that …' Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense, posted his own screed on X, declaring that the Department of Defense 'is mobilizing the National Guard IMMEDIATELY to support federal law enforcement in Los Angeles. And, if violence continues, active duty Marines at Camp Pendleton will also be mobilized — they are on high alert.' Trump posted on Truth Social, 'If Governor Gavin Newscum, of California, and Mayor Karen Bass, of Los Angeles, can't do their jobs, which everyone knows they can't, then the Federal Government will step in and solve the problem, RIOTS & LOOTERS, the way it should be solved!!!'
