Saskatoon to host Country Music Week, CCMAs in 2026
The event is expected to attract over 16,000 visitors and generate more than $9 million in economic impact.
'This is a moment to celebrate, not just because we'll be welcoming some of the country's most talented country music artists, but because it puts our city on a national stage,' said Saskatoon Mayor Cynthia Block.
This will be the third time Saskatoon has played host to the CCMAs, having previously held the event in 2012 and 2017.

'We're ready to do it bigger, louder and more unforgettable than ever,' said Stephanie Clovechok, CEO of Discover Saskatoon.
The week-long festivities will feature a mix of performances and opportunities for local talent to shine.

'Saskatoon has a rich, diverse music scene, and this is the perfect opportunity to showcase that to a national audience,' said Clovechok.
'The intimate opportunities to connect with national and global talent right here at home in Saskatoon is such an incredible opportunity.'
To add a personal touch to the announcement, Saskatchewan-born country star Jess Moskaluke began with an intimate performance.
'I am so proud to be able to show this place off,' she shared.
'And more importantly, I'm so proud to be like, hey, look at the fans. They are so much better here. They're loud and lively and proud and excited,' she added.
The lineup has not yet been announced. However, Clovechok stated that the artists revealed during this year's CCMAs in Kelowna will closely resemble those expected for the 2026 award show in Saskatoon.
'Whether you're a long-time country music fan or someone who's about to fall in love with it, we've saved you a seat in Saskatoon,' Clovechok invited.

‘Long walks around the farm': Ontario miniature donkey's dating profile goes viral
Love is apparently in the air for Hank, a miniature donkey from Erin, Ont., whose dating profile has gained considerable traction online. The seven-year-old jack resides at Erin Hill Acres, a family-owned and operated tourism farm located an hour west of Toronto. Per his profile, Hank is looking for a soulmate to live out his days on the 90-acre farm and join him on his routine dilly-dallying in the flower fields. Farm manager Tyler Garrard says the hope is to find a female donkey, also known as a jenny, to breed with Hank and welcome more donkeys into the family. He says Hank joined the farm about two months ago after his former owner, who was having health difficulties, posted on a Facebook buy and sell group. In a post on Instagram, the farm said Hank enjoys 'long walks around the farm, a fat juicy carrot, gentle pets and loving,' adding that he has 'a great head of hair, a lovely personality and a massive heart.' 'Send us a DM if you know a lucky lady that is looking for a new loving home, complete with live in boyfriend,' the farm added. In a satirical video that has garnered thousands of views, the farm compiled snippets of some of Hank's best friends sharing the positive memories they have with him. 'Just wanted to do a shout out to Hank. Last time Rudolph got sick, Hank filled in for him and took the sleigh all around the world,' said a man dressed as Santa Claus. Another person joked that Hank introduced her to her husband. 'He was the best man at our wedding and the godfather to our children. Without Hank, I wouldn't have him,' she said. Garrard said they are ideally looking for a donkey of the same size range and between the ages of four and nine years old. Canadian country music star to play Dakota Dunes Casino

The tour is described as an experience of stories and songs behind the hits, in an unforgettable night of music. Smith has gone from the frontman of Platinum-selling rock band Default to one of the most successful Canadian country musicians of his generation, with 21 Gold singles and 640 million global streams. Smith recently made his Grand Ole Opry debut and released a self-titled album. Canadian country musician Brock Phillips will serve as the opening act at the 19+ concert. Early access pre-sale tickets go on sale Aug. 13, with general tickets available Aug. 15.
