HighlightsWalmart-owned Sam's Club will eliminate over 40 ingredients, including artificial colors and aspartame, from its private label brand Member's Mark by the end of this year as part of its 'Made Without' initiative. The initiative aligns with the growing health consciousness among consumers, particularly Generation Z and millennials, who are increasingly seeking healthier food options. Other major food companies, including W.K. Kellogg and Tyson Foods, are also reformulating their products to eliminate artificial dyes and respond to health concerns in the food supply.
Walmart-owned Sam's Club said on Thursday it would eliminate over 40 ingredients, including artificial colors and aspartame, from private label brand Member's Mark by the end of this year.
Under the initiative, called 'Made Without', Sam's Club is altering its food products and beverages to offer items that are in tandem with the evolving dietary preferences of customers as more people, mainly Gen Z and millennials, turn health conscious.
The move comes a couple of months after Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr laid out plans to remove synthetic food dyes from the U.S. food supply, in a broader move to address chronic diseases and health conditions such as obesity among Americans.
Most of the packaged food companies are also working on their existing products as well as on introducing items without artificial dyes.
W.K. Kellogg is reformulating its cereals served in schools to not include artificial dyes, and has said it would not launch any products with the dyes beginning next year.
Tyson Foods is also "proactively reformulating" food products containing petroleum-based synthetic dyes, which according to the company were to be eliminated from its production process by May end.
Sam's Club has already rolled out cookies and snacks without artificial colors. The retailer is also offering fresh sushi as part of its 'Made Without' program.

From vision to visibility: How AI is reshaping growth across markets

By Anuj Sidharth, India's digital economy continues its rapid expansion, with the e-commerce market projected to reach $580 billion by 2030—$380 billion from B2C transactions and $200 billion from B2B. This growth, while encouraging, presents a complex challenge for brands: how to stand out and build lasting visibility in an increasingly crowded marketplace. In today's hyper-connected environment, visibility is no longer an incidental benefit of market presence. It must be earned—through consistent storytelling, technological differentiation, and sustained customer engagement. The question facing many enterprises is not simply how to grow, but how to grow with clarity, credibility, and connection. Across both B2B and B2C domains, businesses are realigning their strategies to reflect a shift in buyer behavior. Decision-makers—whether end consumers or enterprise customers—expect more than transactional value. They seek relevance, trust, and personalized experiences. To meet this demand, companies are adopting AI-driven analytics, enhancing digital platforms, and investing in omnichannel strategies to maintain continuity across customer touchpoints. This shift is particularly relevant for enterprise leaders tasked with steering digital transformation. Technology is no longer just an enabler; it is central to how brands establish identity, differentiate offerings, and foster long-term engagement. A critical demographic influencing this shift is Generation Z. By 2024, Gen Z accounted for nearly 30% of the global population and 27% of the workforce. Growing up alongside digital ecosystems, this group approaches technology not as a tool but as a native environment. They are discerning, performance-oriented, and deeply influenced by online communities. Recent insights from a CMR survey highlight that 30% of Gen Z smartphone users prioritize high-performance gaming, and 57% actively engage in eSports. For brands operating in sectors like mobility, gaming, or content, this signals the need for precision-tuned experiences rather than mass-market messaging. Capturing this market segment requires more than conventional marketing—it calls for ecosystem partnerships, co-creation models, and immersive engagement. Collaborations between hardware OEMs and software platforms are helping deliver more responsive products and quicker market entry, while also creating brand experiences rooted in authenticity and shared value. One emerging trend is the rise of community-led engagement. This approach moves beyond brand promotion toward experience curation—where tech-savvy audiences are not just buyers but contributors to product evolution. Such models offer companies a way to build deeper resonance, gather insights early, and adapt rapidly to changing preferences. Initiatives like the MediaTek Connect Program reflect this shift, bringing early adopters into the fold through product showcases, discussions on gaming and AI, and direct access to technology experts. These efforts show how brands can move from passive communication to participatory engagement, especially among younger, digitally native audiences. Alongside demographic changes, geographic shifts are also reshaping India's digital consumption patterns. Tier-2 and tier-3 cities, once seen as peripheral, are now central to growth in premium tech products and smart devices. While tier-1 cities account for around 35% of premium smartphone sales, nearly 64% now come from smaller towns, with tier-3 markets growing nearly 20% year-over-year. This surge is prompting companies to rethink outreach. Retailer education programs, for instance, are becoming critical for building product literacy and customer trust in emerging markets. Understanding local preferences, purchasing behavior, and digital adoption trends is key to crafting strategies that work beyond urban India. For enterprise leaders—particularly those overseeing marketing, product innovation, and technology—growth today must be approached as a multidimensional goal. It is about visibility, yes, but also about resonance. It is about reach, but equally about relevance. Whether it's engaging Gen Z through immersive experiences, collaborating with ecosystem partners, or deepening presence in high-growth regional markets, enterprises must build agility into their brand strategies. In an era defined by short attention spans and long-term disruption, visibility alone is insufficient. Brands must be seen—and remembered—for what they deliver, how they adapt, and who they serve. In this dynamic landscape, those who invest in relevance, not just recognition, will lead the way forward. The author is Director, Marketing & Corporate Communications, MediaTek India. Social Security June 2025: Stimulus checks could be delayed this month - Here's why

Workers at the Social Security Administration (SSA) are raising concerns that some people might see delays in their payments over the next few weeks. The warning comes as the agency shifts its focus to nearly 900,000 complicated cases. SSA employees told USA Today that this change in focus could mean late or missing checks for thousands of Americans. These delays could affect people making routine updates to their accounts, like changing a bank or home address. This is important because nearly 70 million Americans depend on Social Security each month for essentials like rent, groceries, and healthcare. The agency is currently carrying out changes tied to the Social Security Fairness Act, which was passed under former President Donald Trump's administration. The law gives benefits to people who paid into the system but were previously not eligible—such as teachers, police officers, firefighters, and other public workers. Also Read: E-Verify mismatch case issue: What exactly happened at the SSA and how to resolve? Drew Powers, founder of Illinois-based Powers Financial Group said, "More than 2 million of these cases were straightforward enough to be automated, but the remaining 900,000 claims are more complicated and must be approved by hand," as quoted by Newsweek report. Although the White House says these updates should not affect current Social Security payments, SSA workers say there may still be delays for routine changes, like updating direct deposit info or sorting out Medicaid billing. Employees have been told to prioritize the remaining cases under the Fairness Act. "Using automation, SSA has already expedited over $15.1 billion in long-delayed retroactive payments to more than 2.3 million individuals affected," White House spokesperson Liz Huston said previously. SSA workers also say they've been given a deadline of July 1 to complete the updates, which is creating a backlog and slowing down responses to other types of requests.

He wrote, 'I believed in Elon Musk's vision to shrink government and make it work better for Americans. I'm proud of the DOGE Dividend proposal I developed and will keep working with the administration to return savings to taxpayers." That's disappointing, but okay. What's not okay is his baseless personal attacks against President Trump." Calling Trump a 'once-in-a-century leader," Fishback praised the US president's leadership and patience, especially in light of Musk's public comments. 'It's time for Elon to apologize to the President and his family, cool off, and get back to work on inventing the future at Tesla and SpaceX," he added. Who Is James Fishback? Fishback is also known for founding Incubate Debate, the fastest-growing high school debate league in the US. A former national debate champion himself, he launched the initiative in 2019. The idea for the 'DOGE Dividend" reportedly came to him in a dream. He had told Newsweek that he quickly drafted the concept with Azoria's head of research. Although he never officially joined the DOGE project, the proposal was endorsed by Musk and gained interest from Trump, who supported the idea of a citizen dividend scheme.
