Marcus Rashford makes clear desire to play at Barcelona
Marcus Rashford has given the clearest indication yet of his desire to play for Barcelona ahead of his move away from Manchester United this summer being decided. Rashford, who was loaned out to Aston Villa last season, has been warm-weather training in Malaga and has spoken of how much he would like to play with Barcelona's 17-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal. He also discussed his boyhood idol being ex-Arsenal and Barcelona forward Thierry Henry. Dwaine Maynard, Rashford's brother and agent, has previously held meetings with Barcelona representatives but no deal has progressed. While Barcelona's admiration of Rashford, 27, is genuine, they also hold an interest in Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams and it is unlikely they would sign two wide forwards in the same window. Rashford, when pointedly asked if he would like to play with Yamal, said: 'Yes, for sure. Everyone wants to play with the best. Hopefully... we'll see.' Ruben Amorim froze out Rashford at United last season, dropping him from the match-day squad and then citing his demeanour and standards in training as a factor. But he returned to form during his six months at Villa, reaching the Champions League quarter-finals and helping them towards European qualification. With his loan at Villa over, Rashford returns to the club with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho as players who will look for new clubs this summer. Kobbie Mainoo also lost his place in Amorim's team. Speaking to Spanish influencer Javi 'xBuyer' Ruiz, Rashford described how comfortable he is training in Marbella. 'Spain is nice, it is not too far from home,' he said. 'If I'm training over a long period of time, my family can come over as the flight is only three hours. It's a nice location and good weather.' Rashford also named Henry as a player he admired as a youngster. He also listed his qualities as being able to play through the middle, which would be an attribute Barcelona would look at if they were to land Williams and target further attacking players. 'He's [Henry] comfortable playing off the left and in the middle and he is a free-flowing player,' he said. 'When I was young I always enjoyed watching him in the Premier League. The No 9 position is becoming more natural to me.' On Yamal, he added: 'It's difficult to put into words what he's doing because he's not supposed to be doing that at 16 or 17. I don't think we've seen that before. He's going to keep improving.'

Martin Zubimendi announcement plan emerges as Arsenal face transfer delay
Arsenal are set to confirm Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi as their first summer signing in a major coup for Mikel Arteta Martin Zubimendi's transfer to Arsenal is not expected to be made official until July - even though the player has already travelled to London with his agent to put the finishing touches on his switch from Real Sociedad. The Spain international was in the capital on Friday to meet with Gunners officials as Mikel Arteta's side hone in on their first big statement deal of the summer window. However, Sociedad want the move to be ratified next month for their financial records as the current football financial year is due to end on June 30. Arsenal are also expected to pay slightly over Zubimendi's £51million release clause and the final fee could yet reach £55m all in. The extra £4m, though sources remain tight-lipped on the final figures at this stage, would entitle them to more favourable payment terms, spread across a longer period of time and significantly, would give them further flexibility in the market amid the tightening of PSR regulations. Real Madrid had been tipped to hijack Arsenal's swoop for the 26-year-old following Xabi Alonso's arrival at the Bernabeu but Zubimendi's impending transfer was already agreed in principle several months ago and the Gunners have long been operating with the belief that he would be joining this summer. Meanwhile, Thomas Partey's contract situation currently looks bleak as discussions have not progressed between the parties and barring any late U-turn, the Ghanaian is set to become a free agent at the end of the month. The 32-year-old has been offered to a number of top European clubs including Galatasaray and Fenerbahce in the past week but at this stage, it is still not clear where he could yet end up as his priority has always been to stay at Arsenal. If Partey does indeed depart, Arsenal will actively seek to recruit another midfielder after also losing Jorginho to Flamengo, although Zubimendi is expected to fill the void of the Ghana international at the base of Arteta's engine room. Arsenal are poised to ramp up their pursuit of new arrivals in the coming weeks with a striker still considered both Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta's top priority. Interest in RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres remains ongoing and at this moment in time, Arsenal are seemingly still yet to commit to going all-out for either player as both deals remain there to be struck. Both Sesko and Gyokeres are thought to be keen on moves to the Emirates.

While Helene had updated her name to Helene Spilling Odegaard. But now the pair have invited their nearest and dearest to Oslo to watch them officially become husband and wife. That list of exclusive attendees included Arsenal stars Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard. Saka, 23, was looking sharp in a tuxedo as he was pictured arm in arm with his girlfriend Tolami Benson. Tolami, who wore a classy black dress to match the England winger's outfit, is thought to have started dating Saka back in 2020. Helene is always supporting Odegaard in the stands at Arsenal's games and it appears the pair have made close friends with the midfielder's teammates since his Real Madrid switch. Helene is a star in her own right too, having won Norwegian dance show 'Skal vi Danse' in 2021 - a show similar to Strictly Come Dancing. And her impressive moves go much further than the TV screen, boasting 17 gold medals in the Norwegian national championship for ballroom dancing. Odegaard and Helene have been public with their relationship since mid 2023 and welcomed their first child last year.
