Wisconsin women's basketball to renew in-state rivalry this fall
The Wisconsin women's basketball program will renew its I-94 rivalry with Marquette as part of a home-and-home series beginning on Nov. 8, 2025.
UW will travel east to Milwaukee for the first leg of the series, then welcome the Golden Eagles to the Kohl Center in 2026. The two squads last squared off in 2017. The Golden Eagles own a 6-5 mark against the Badgers since the 2001-02 season.
Wisconsin's Nov. 8 contest against the in-state rival also marks the first game the Badgers' program has announced under new head coach Robin Pingeton, who took over following former head coach Marisa Moseley's resignation earlier this year.
The Badgers, who went 13-17 during the 2024-25 slate, will open the 2025-26 campaign with an entirely new roster. Former Wisconsin star Serah Williams and starting center Carter McCray transferred following the season's end, prompting Pingeton to look for talent in the portal.
The former Missouri coach responded with seven transfer commitments. Those include Croatian center Dorja Zaja, Illinois forward Shay Bollin, Stony Brook guard Breauna Ware, Howard guard Destiny Howell, NC State guard Laci Steele, Southern Illinois forward Gift Uchenna and Missouri State guard Kyrah Daniels. The Badgers also signed class of 2025 standout Nikki Kerstein in April, bolstering the program's backcourt depth.
While both Williams and McCray departed, starting guard Ronnie Porter returns for her fourth season in Madison as the Badgers' leading veteran presence. She, alongside new acquisitions Uchenna and Howell, projects to spearhead Wisconsin's offensive attack this coming season.

Inter Milan New Boy Looks Ready To Follow In Footsteps Of Croatia Compatriots At San Siro

Inter Milan New Boy Looks Ready To Follow In Footsteps Of Croatia Compatriots At San Siro Croatian international midfielder Petar Sucic looks ready to follow in the footsteps of his countrymen Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic at Inter Milan. This is highlighted in today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Advertisement Inter Milan have signed midfielder Petar Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb. They paid a fee of €14 million plus add-ons for the 21-year-old. The Nerazzurri snapped up Sucic ahead of the competition of Juventus, as the Gazzetta note. And according to the Gazzetta, there is a good reason why Inter moved to sign Sucic. And the Gazzetta note how this will be a familiar profile for the Nerazzurri. Advertisement Inter have already had one midfield maestro from Croatia in the recent past. Marcelo Brozovic spent nearly a decade at the San Siro, and was outstanding for much of it. Meanwhile, Ivan Perisic spent nearly as long at the Nerazzurri. He played as everything from an attacking winger to a wingback. Both Brozovic and Perisic have already spoken with Sucic. They have given him their own views and experiences on the atmosphere of playing at the Nerazzurri. Inter is not an easy club to adapt to. The expectations are high, whilst chaos and crisis are never far away. Nevertheless, Brozovic and Perisic always managed to find a sense of calm. And Sucic looks to be a player ready to put his head down and do the same.

Philippe Clement in astonishing Rangers blame game as flop boss calls out two players over title collapse

Philippe Clement has pinned a huge part of Rangers' title collapse in his first season in charge at Ibrox on John Lundstram and Borna Barisic. Although not naming either of the duo, he admitted that two players who were out of contract were distracted by trying to sort out their next career move during the tense run-in. They lost at Ross County and drew against Dundee at Dens Park with a defeat at Celtic Park in the final derby of the season. Advertisement Rangers eventually finished eight points behind their rivals. The contracts of Lundstram and Barisic were both ticking towards expiring and they ended up joining Turkish side Trabzonspor. John Lundstram applauds Borna Barisic (left) Clement, in an interview with BBC Scotland, said it wasn't an ideal situation - and one the club should always be looking to avoid. Barisic was hooked early in the 3-2 defeat in Dingwall and the Croatian defender didn't featured at Dens Park. And they were both left out of the XI for the Scottish Cup final against Celtic at the end of the season, with Lundstram coming on for the final minute. Clement said: 'There are some stories if you look back. Indeed, in the first season nobody in Scotland expected Rangers to come back in be in a title race when we arrived in October. Advertisement 'The players did it but in the end we lost the game at Ross County and three days later dropped points at Dundee. 'If I look back, two players who were not good in those two games they left at the end of the season on a free transfer. 'They were at that moment busy also talking with other teams with their agents, about their future and all those things. 'Probably, and maybe, it had an affect on them. Did they not want to become Rangers? For sure not. They wanted to become champions and give everything. 'But the situation to be at the end of the contract at that moment of the season was also not a good one. Advertisement 'You need to see as a club that it's about stability and consistency that you don't come in these situations too much in the important moments of the season. Rangers' John Lundstram -Credit:SNS Group 'You want everything to be clear so players can focus solely on football and I think it played a part in that end of the season in those two games where the shift was made in the championship.' 'It's a pity we couldn't win the championship coming out of a situation where nobody thought we could win it. The Belgian admitted that league loss was his biggest regret, with the Premier Sports Cup win over Aberdeen at Hampden his proudest. He was axed this season, with Russell Martin named permanent successor last week. He said: '(My) most proud (moment) - because all that matters is winning things - would be winning the league cup and biggest regret would be being close for the title in that first season and not getting it over the line, and also the two cup finals where were very close.'

"These kinds of rumours are normal, but for now, I'm staying focused and looking forward to enjoying my holiday in a few weeks."
