However, ITV2 viewers were quick to insist that the wrong decision had been made and even suggested a 'fix' with third place Islanders Yasmin and Jamie missing out on the top prize.
Yasmin had previously been voted the villa's top girl and had ranked at the top of popularity polls leaving her third place finish a shock.
Angel and Ty finished the show in fourth place with Yasmin and Jamie coming in third.
Commenting on the final results online, one fan wrote on X: "What a fix !! They should've been 1st or 2nd place !!"
Another then added: "It was Cach who won, lets be real. Toni didn't deserve that win. Yasmin and Jamie have been robbed."
Before a third penned: "Didn't watch this year but I thought yas and Jamie would've got higher."
The show's result means that Toni has become the first ever American to win the UK version of the show
The final four were decided after another long-standing couple were axed on Sunday night.
On Sunday night, Meg and Dejon were the last couple to be dumped before the final.
All of the dumped islanders returned to the villa to have their say over who should be up for the win.

The duo were hit with weeks of Ofcom complaints and concerns about Dejon's behaviour.
Meg Moore was also hit with bullying claims amid the highly-publicised divide between the girls.
In the most tense dumping of the series, on Sunday night host Maya Jama herself even questioned Dejon's actions.

Maya Jama reveals Ruben Dias's incredible trophy room as Love Island presenter poses after bikini-clad holiday with footballer lover

Love Island presenter Maya Jama has shown off footballer boyfriend Ruben Dias ' impressive trophy room in a behind-the-scenes Instagram post. The presenter, 30, who is thought to have been dating the footballer, 27, for several months, finally shared a snap of the two of them in June to go official. During the off-season, Maya and Ruben looked very loved-up as they enjoyed a boat ride on the Italian island of Capri during a sun-soaked getaway. The couple were seen kissing as they had their morning coffee on the yacht, before Maya nuzzled into the Manchester City player's neck. Other racy snaps showed the couple getting close on sun loungers as Ruben leaned over his sun-bathing girlfriend. Now, though, it is back to the day job and Dias is in Manchester City training ahead of the return of the Premier League next week. Maya, dressed in a white and black striped jumper and black sunglasses, shared a snap to her Instagram story on Friday, with her 3.2million followers seeing her... drinking from a Co-op mug. The more interesting aspect, though, was that she was in Ruben's trophy room. A number of awards could be seen in the background, with four replica Premier League trophies on show, as well as a replica Champions League, Community Shield, and FA Cup - the accolades he has won with City. Elsewhere were countless Player of the Match awards, and medals - including Dias' Premier League winning medals. The couple are believed to have met after Maya caught the Portugal player's eye when they met at the European Music Awards (EMAs) in November. Their romance was finally confirmed after they were seen packing on the PDA at KSI's Baller League event in April. And posting a snap with her new boyfriend for the first time, Maya looked incredible in a triangle bikini while soaking up some sun on a boat. She was later diving into the water while Ruben filmed her from the top deck. The broadcaster was all smiles in the clip as she sat alongside the footballer in a car heading back to her house in the first video of the two together. She as been seen at multiple football games over the last few months to watch Dias live in action for Man City. Footage of the pair showed them with their arms around each other before he leant into her neck for a peck, with Ruben flying under the radar in casual clothes and a cap. A source told The Sun: 'Maya and Ruben seemed very close, very loved up and were clearly very comfortable with each other. 'They were chatting to others around them but gravitated back to each other. They seem very happy with each other.'

Denise Welch finally does damage control after embarrassing Taylor Swift interview

Loose Women star Denise Welch was hit with backlash following her awkward US talks show interview where she hit out at her son Matty Healy's romance with Taylor Swift Denise Welch has finally responded to backlash following her appearance on a US talk show as she was accused of changing her accent. The Loose Women star appeared on Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen last month where she spilled on her son Matty Healy's romance with Taylor Swift. ‌ When discussing The 1975 frontman Matty, Denise was met with backlash for sounding "more posh". She didn't hold back as she shared her thoughts on her son Matty's short romance with pop star Taylor, either. ‌ In a savage dig, Denise said: "Obviously, on pain of death can I talk about that episode, but not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost." While many were taken aback by Denise's brutal words, others were more concerned about her accent switching between "posh" and "American". It comes after Denise broke down in the street with her son amid backlash. ‌ "So why has Denise completely changed her accent? She sounds so much more posh. Trying to impress I see," one viewer said. Another questioned: "What happened to her accent? WTF." Denise has now issued her own response as she returned to Loose Women. She was grilled by her co-stars Katie Piper and Nadia Sawalha, which prompted a strong response from Denise. ‌ She said: "You know, it really bugs me that, because in this country people go, 'Er she's lost her Geordie accent', I never talked like Gazza!" "I never talked like that in my life," she added, in a Geordie accent. "And then people say I was doing an American accent! Rubbish!" However, her co-stars weren't convinced as they told her she did sound American. ‌ In the end, Denise confessed: "I can hear an inflection there, and having said that, Lincoln knows exactly who I am on the phone to because apparently if I have spoken to a friend who is from Liverpool I'm going like that [in a Liverpudlian accent]. "And years ago my ex-husband Tim was doing a show in Australia and said to somebody, 'We've been here two days and our lass picks up the phone to someone and goes 'Hello?' [in an Australian accent]'." Despite the backlash, the TV star said she "honestly loved" appearing on the talk show and "couldn't believe" she was invited on. ‌ Denise was immediately asked about Matty's relationship with Taylor, and specifically, what she thought about the pop star's Tortured Poets Department album. Taylor, who is now dating Travis Kelce, is known to write songs about her high-profile relationships and fans dissected the album to figure out which tracks were written about Matty. Taylor and Matty were romantically linked for a brief period in 2023. ‌ Denise surprisingly said she was glad to not be Taylor's mother-in-law, with her straightforward comment shocking everyone in the room, including host Andy. She quickly tried to calm things down as she added: "Not that I have anything against her at all! It was just - it was tricky." Denise suggested it is difficult to comment on anything to do with Taylor, as her fans would negatively react to it. "She - listen, you're not allowed to say anything, and then she writes a whole album about it," Denise explained. The TV star said that Matty has taken the album's personal tracks 'all in completely good grace,' and added: "He's very happy with his amazing fiancée Gabriella," referring to singer Gabbriette. "So we've moved on."

Hollyoaks icon returns to screens as he lands huge US TV role 17 years after quitting soap

Former soap star turned Hollywood actor Guy Burnet is now a world away from his time starring in Hollyoaks Hollyoaks legend Guy Burnet has landed a huge new role 17 years after his soap exit as is set to star in a hugely successful Paramount+ series. ‌ The 41-year-old, who played Craig Dean on the Channel 4 show from 2002 to 2008, has reportedly joined the cast of US series Landman as it launches its second season. ‌ The first season premiered last November, with the finale airing in January 2025. The drama was officially renewed for a second season back in March. ‌ The new 11-part series is set around the world of oil rigs in Texas and is touted to be a modern-day story about fortune seekers. It is based on the Boomtown podcast. The first season of the American based series was a huge success for Paramount, garnerning a huge 35 million global streaming viewers since its debut in November 2024, in addition to being the number one Paramount+ original ever on the service, according to the streamer. ‌ Billy Bob Thornton also scored a Golden Globe nomination for best actor in a drama series for his role in the show, reports USA Today. In recurring guest roles, Guy Burnet will play Charlie Newsom, a charming oil and gas engineer opposite Miriam Silverman as Greta Stidham, an intimidating university admissions counsellor. They will star alongside Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Sam Elliott and Ali Larter among others. ‌ Since waving goodbye to Hollyoaks, Burnet has starred in Netflix 's Fubar opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and appeared in Christopher Nolan's Oscar-winning Oppenheimer. He also appeared alongside Samuel L. Jackson in The Beast and with Jeff Daniels in Reykjavík. ‌ Burnet's other past work includes Dead for a Dollar (alongside Christoph Waltz and Willem Dafoe) as well as Pitch Perfect, Mortdecai, and roles in The Feed, Electric Dreams, Counterpart, Ray Donovan and The Affair. Who was Guy Burnett in Hollyoaks? Burnet arrived on the Chester based soap in 2002 as fresh faced Craig Dean and his character was involved in several gripping storylines, including struggling with his sexuality. Craig eventually got engaged to John-Paul McQueen (James Sutton), and they became one of the soap's most beloved couples. ‌ However, loves young dream was cut short when Craig left for Trinity College, Dublin, after his affair with John Paul was dramatically exposed at Craig and Sarah's (Loui Batley) engagement party. Burnet left his soap role in August 2008 before making a brief comeback the same year. ‌ Speaking about his decision to quit Hollyoaks, Burnet confirmed he wanted to take the opportunity to experience other things while he was still young. The actor told Digital Spy in 2007: "Initially, the thing that threw me over the edge to say 'right, I am going to leave Hollyoaks' was when I was sat at home thinking 'I'd love to go to Tokyo; I'd love to go and live in Mexico; I want to go and live in Costa Rica; I want to go and do these things now while I'm young and can still do them'." He added: "I learned so much at Hollyoaks. I loved the place and it was the most difficult decision almost purely based on the people, your best friends who work there – like Nick Pickard [Tony Hutchinson], Jimmy McKenna [Jack Osborne] and Carly Stenson [Steph Dean] – they're my family. "They're people that before I even made my decision to leave, I went to and spoke to them about it. I remember having a conversation with Nick Pickard and saying 'I love it here, it's great but I feel that I want to move on but the thing that makes me want to stay the most is you guys'. He said to me 'go, don't let that hold you back'." Hollyoaks lands on Channel 4 streaming at 7am, then air on E4 at 7pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
