'If he does get in..': Donald Trump warns Zohran Mamdani, says he didn't know who he is
Donald Trump threatens that if Mamdani becomes NYC mayor and doesn't do the right thing, NYC will get no money.
President Donald Trump reiterated his shock at Socialist Zohran Mamdani winning the Democratic primary for the NYC mayoral election, as he had earlier, but this time it came with a threat of not giving any money to NYC.
Speaking on Fox Sunday morning, Trump said Mamdani is a communist and he openly admits it. "He's a communist and I think it's very bad for New York. I don't know if he's going to get in but he's a pure communist and I think he admits it," he said.
"I can't imagine it, but let's say this: If he does get it, I am going to be president, and he's going to have to do the right thing. Or they are not getting any money," Trump said.

"I used to say that we would never have a Socialist in this country but we have a communist.
I was very surprised. I never heard of him. I don't know who he is," Trump said adding that Mamdani is a left, liberal, lunatic.
After Mamdani's apparent victory, after Andrew Cuomo conceded the election, Trump made his first comment about Mamdani on his Truth Social, where he said Democrats have crossed the line in choosing Mamdani. "Zohran Mamdani, a 100% Communist Lunatic, has just won the Dem Primary, and is on his way to becoming Mayor.
We've had Radical Lefties before, but this is getting a little ridiculous. he looks TERRIBLE, his voice is grating, he's not very smart, he's got AOC+3, Dummies ALL, backing him, and even our Great Palestinian Senator, Cryin' Chuck Schumer, is groveling over him.
Yes, this is a big moment in the History of our Country!" Trump posted.
Mamdani reacted to Trump's criticism and said: 'You know, this is not the first time that President Trump is going to comment on myself, and I encourage him — just like I encourage every New Yorker — to learn about my actual policies to make the city affordable."
'If he continues to focus on persecuting political enemies and on trying to detain and disappear New Yorkers, be it on the basis of their documentation or their sexual orientation or their politics, that is someone that I will fight time and again,' Mamdani told ABC.

Canada drops tech tax: White House Says Ottawa 'Caved' to Trump; trade talk to resume
US President Donald Trump (left), Canadian PM Mark Carney (AP) The White House on Monday said that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney had 'caved' to pressure from US President Donald Trump, after Canada withdrew a controversial tax targeting American tech companies, a move that had triggered a freeze in trade talks. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters, 'It's very simple. Prime Minister Carney and Canada caved to President Trump and the United States of America.' She added that Trump 'knows how to negotiate,' and that 'every country on the planet needs to have good trade relationships with the United States.' The dispute stemmed from Canada's digital services tax, enacted last year, which would have required major US tech firms like Alphabet and Amazon to make multi-billion-dollar payments by Monday. In response, Trump abruptly called off trade talks with Ottawa last Friday, retaliating against what he called an unfair levy. Canada, on late Sunday, announced that it was rolling back the tax and would resume trade negotiations with Washington. The escalation came despite a recent thaw in relations between Trump and Carney. The two leaders held a meeting at the White House on May 6 and again at the G7 summit earlier this month, where global leaders urged Trump to ease his confrontational stance on trade. However, tensions flared again over the weekend when Trump revived his rhetoric that Canada should become the 51st state of the United States. 'Frankly, Canada should be the 51st state, okay? It really should, because Canada relies entirely on the United States. We don't rely on Canada,' Trump told Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures. Leavitt defended the administration's tough approach, warning that countries still resisting US trade demands could face consequences. 'He is going to set the rates for many of these countries if they don't come to the table to negotiate in good faith, and he is meeting with his trade team this week to do that,' she said, referring to Trump's looming July 9 deadline for new trade deals
