Shilpa Shirdodkar Says Mahesh Babu Has Gone Through A Lot: 'It Is Not Easy...'

The year 2022 was not easy for Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. The actor lost three members of his family in a single year – his father, mother and brother. In a recent interview, his sister-in-law, Shilpa Shirodkar, opened up about the same and shared that Mahesh Babu has 'gone through a lot" in his life.
'We were very simple people. Mahesh, to me, is my brother-in-law and one of the finest human beings I know in this world. He stands by family rock solid," she told Zoom.
Shilpa further praised Mahesh Babu for always standing by his family's side and added, 'Our men have done a lot for us. It's not easy for a man to stand by a woman who has gone through so much emotionally and mentally. But our men have done everything for us. Because it just happened so suddenly, to lose two healthy people just like that. Mahesh has gone through a lot, losing his family, and you need to show up for your people."
For the unversed, Shilpa Shirodkar's sister, Namrata, is married to Mahesh Babu. In the same interview, Shilpa also candidly opened up about their equation and called them 'closest".
'But Namrata is my everything. I think I became closest to her after I got married, actually. And then, after my parents passed away, my equation with her completely changed. I became her child. She worries about me a lot. In fact, I think she worries more about me than she does about her own kids… and also about Anushka!" she said.
'I know she's always there for me, come what may. She has my back. She's also my friend now. I can tell her anything and everything. She has an opinion about everything, which can be really irritating, but I've now learned how to handle her. So when I don't agree with something, I just laugh and talk to her," the actress laughed.

Ranbir Kapoor takes on Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, Yash is Ravana, Ravi Dubey becomes Lakshman, and Sunny Deol portrays Hanuman. Supporting cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, Kunal Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil and Sheeba Chadha. Their vision was unveiled in a teaser that paired glimpses of Ranbir and Yash with a powerful score by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman — marking what may be Indian cinema's most ambitious East-meets-West collaboration. Filming began only after the script felt ready. Tech rehearsals were held in Los Angeles in 2024, while elaborate sets—over a dozen of them—were built back in India. Many have now been dismantled to make way for post‑production.
