Available on iOS and Android, the Sitha app enables women to list services or products be it tuitions, handmade jewellery, baking, decoration, or dance classes and directly connect with customers. 'You don't need to be a techie or even have prior business experience. If you have a skill, that's enough,' she adds.
What makes Sitha unique is its dual economy model: it supports both service providers and product sellers, all within a single app. 'Whether you're a journalist who also teaches classical dance, or a homemaker who bakes amazing cupcakes, Sitha gives you visibility and a marketplace,' Swathi says.
For women worried about using tech or navigating a digital platform, Sitha offers handholding too. 'If someone sends a message on WhatsApp, our team will call and help them create their profile. We even upload their services for them in some cases,' she says. Importantly, there's no charge for this.
The app is currently live in India and offers over 20 categories of services. The goal is to keep expanding, building based on real feedback from the community. 'Right now, we're focusing on infrastructure — giving women a place to start. Next, we'll help with branding, leads, and building a customer base,' Swathi shares.
And it's all built with heart. The journey to launching Sitha took about a year. From researching market gaps to multiple design iterations, every step has been led by one core belief 'work should be accessible to every woman'. 'Not everyone wants a 9-to-5 job. Life is unpredictable, you might lose a job, or need to take a break. Sitha is that gentle fallback that says, 'Hey, you still have something to offer. Let's make it work',' the entrepreneur reminds.

Meta's Threads hits 400 million monthly users in 2 years, closing gap with X user base
Meta's text-based social media app Threads has touched 400 million monthly active users (MAUs), just two years after its launch. The update came from Instagram head Adam Mosseri, who shared the numbers while recalling how the platform started as an idea to rival Twitter, now called X, and has since grown into a space for open latest figure shows the app has added 50 million new monthly users in the past three months. Karnataka man loses Rs 10 lakh in online stock market scam after Facebook link trap
UDUPI: A man from Kirimanjeshwara alleged that he was duped of over Rs 10 lakh in an online investment scam after being lured through a Facebook link into a WhatsApp group promising lucrative stock market tips. The complainant, Altaf Hussain , 42, stated that on July 5, he clicked on a link received on his Facebook account, which led him to join a WhatsApp group named 'Next Billion Technology.' In this group, a woman identified as Parinithi Jain introduced herself and her company, giving the office address as Sarjapur Road, Bengaluru. She sent WhatsApp messages providing daily information about the Indian stock market. In the same group, Anup Tiwari regularly provided updates on all Indian stocks. Later, on July 10, Parinithi sent a link to the complainant's mobile number related to a website. She directed him to register his name on the site, after which she provided him with a login ID and password. Believing in the company's credibility, the complainant purchased shares and IPOs online, allegedly transferring a total of Rs 10.15 lakh from his bank account via PhonePe and to the UPI ID provided into various bank accounts shared by her on WhatsApp. On Aug 5, when the complainant checked the website, it showed that his investment along with the profits grew to a total of Rs 75.42 lakh. However, when he tried to withdraw the amount, he found that his website account was blocked. When he asked Parinithi about this, she told him that 20% commission had to be paid to the company.
