Public Works Ministry establishes temporary border passage in Arida

National News15-03-2025

NNA - The Ministry of Public Works and Transport on Saturday announced the establishment of a temporary border passage in Arida to ensure continued cross-border movement as winter ends and water levels in the Nahr Al-Kabir River recede.
This measure aims to facilitate the movement of trucks and citizens while technical studies are completed for the reconstruction of bridges destroyed in the February 2024 Israeli aggression.
The initiative is part of a comprehensive plan to strengthen border connectivity between Lebanon and Syria, which includes temporary and development projects at the Aboudieh and Jisr Al-Qamar crossings in Wadi Khaled to improve infrastructure.
The ministry highlighted that these border crossings suffered severe damage due to Israeli attacks, which targeted bridges and critical facilities, disrupting movement for an extended period.

Israel urges U.S. to join war with Iran but Trump wants to end the war

File: Fordow nuclear facility , IRAN Israel has asked the Trump administration over the past 48 hours to join the war with Iran in order to eliminate its nuclear program, according to two Israeli officials. Israel lacks the bunker buster bombs and large bomber aircraft needed to destroy Iran's Fordow uranium enrichment site, which is built into a mountain and deep underground. The U.S. has both within flying distance of Iran. An Israeli official claimed to Axios that the U.S. might join the operation, and that President Trump even suggested he'd do so if necessary in a recent conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. 'The entire operation… really has to be completed with the elimination of Fordow,' Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter told Fox News on Friday.
