Saudia expands regional footprint via flights to El-Alamein, Salalah
The new El-Alamein route marks Saudia's fourth destination in Egypt, with three weekly flights operating from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah in each direction.
This is in addition to three weekly flights from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
Moreover, Saudia launched flights from Jeddah to Salalah in Oman, marking the airline's second destination in the country following Muscat.
The route also operates with three weekly flights in each direction.
Both new destinations are operated by Airbus A320 aircraft, with comfortable seating and a wide range of in-flight entertainment options developed to enhance the overall guest experience.
Meanwhile, Saudia has a modern fleet of 147 aircraft and plans to add 118 more in the coming years.
This expansion aligns with the Saudi airline's efforts to enhance the guest experience, deploying advanced AI technologies and leveraging the latest developments in ground and in-flight services.
The company recently launched its first direct flights from Riyadh to Vienna, the capital of Austria.

Air Arabia posts AED 415m Q2 2025 net profit
Q2 2025 financial and operational performance Air Arabia reported a net profit of AED 415 million for the second quarter ending June 30, 2025, representing a 3 percent decrease from AED 427 million during the same period in 2024. Revenue for the quarter reached AED 1.69 billion, a 2 percent increase year-on-year. Between April and June 2025, over 5.1 million passengers flew with Air Arabia Group across its various hubs—a 15 percent increase compared to 4.5 million passengers in Q2 2024. The airline's average seat load factor, which reflects the percentage of occupied seats, climbed by 6 percent to reach 85 percent during the quarter. Network expansion and operational resilience Al Thani emphasised that during the first half of 2025, Air Arabia expanded its operations by launching new routes, increasing flight frequencies in key markets, and adding new aircraft to its fleet. These developments enhanced the airline's network, capacity, and customer experience. He noted that this growth was achieved despite ongoing challenges such as political instability, fluctuating fuel and currency prices, and supply chain constraints. He credited the airline's growth and performance to a strong business model and a capable management team. Future outlook and strategic focus Looking ahead to the remainder of 2025, Al Thani confirmed Air Arabia's focus on expanding connectivity, entering new markets, and further improving operational efficiency and innovation. Egypt to boost gas production after years of decline, prime minister says
Egypt's gas production is expected to reach 6.6 billion cubic feet per day by 2027, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Wednesday. Egypt's natural gas production began declining in 2022, forcing it to become a net gas importer whether through expensive liquefied natural gas cargoes or through Israeli supplies. The North African nation's production is currently 4.1 billion cubic feet per day, Madbouly said. The decline in output over recent years has been driven mainly by a hard currency shortage that limited the government's ability to pay international oil companies. "Foreign investors and partners have resumed investments as a result of our commitment to pay off the accumulated arrears, so we have clear plans to return to previous production levels (of 6.6 billion cubic feet daily) over the next two years," Madbouly said. Madbouly said last month that Egypt has paid $1 billion to international oil companies and it was set to pay another $1.4 billion before the end of the year.
