Rescue dog missing 36 days found swimming in waters off British island
Amber, a golden-colored dog, slipped out of the garden of her new foster family's home on April 25.
Her rescue, KS Angels Rescue, said she had only been in the country for two days when she escaped, and she was terrified of people.
People around the area took to Facebook to report sightings of Amber, hoping to catch her and bring her home safely.
The pup was spotted dozens of times, but no one was able to get close enough to catch her. She traveled miles and miles, until last week.

On May 31 – 36 days after she escaped – the elusive canine was found and rescued while swimming from an island.
Amber was caught by a boat while swimming back from Brownsea Island, where she had been seen for a few days, KS Angels Rescue said on Facebook.
KS Angels Rescue said Amber had swam at least two miles when she was found.
"Massive thank you to the very kind men on the boat for getting her safely on board and looking after her so well!" the rescue said. "You genuinely saved her life."

The rescue also commended all the people who reported sightings and created missing posters for Amber.
Amber was taken to the vet and given a clean bill of health, though she'll have to gain some weight as she was a bit skinny from her time on the run.
KS Angels Rescue said she's been very tired since her adventures and has been sleeping and eating a lot. "She's eating 4 meals a day and getting spoiled rotten on the daily," they said.
Amber's foster family is getting a chance to love her now that she's back, too.

Charity wrongfully dismissed naturalist
An employment tribunal has ruled that a charity wrongfully dismissed its former conservation officer. Nigel Middleton worked for the Hawk and Owl Trust (HOT) for more than two decades and helped develop the Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve which opened in 2003. Mr Middleton, who has appeared on BBC Radio as a nature expert, said when he realised his job was at risk, "I was gutted, I was devastated because this wasn't just a job for me". HOT said it recognised that the tribunal found "its processes were unfair" and that the charity would seek to learn lessons from this experience. In November 2022 Mr Middleton raised issues with the charity's trustees about the way in which the organisation was being run by chief operations director, Adrian Blumfield. The concerns covered staff and volunteer treatment and payments being made to employees leaving the charity. Following this, the tribunal heard, Mr Blumfield and the charity trustees decided Mr Middleton "had to go". The judge said what followed was a "woeful tale of unfairness in process". After raising the concerns Mr Middleton was told his performance was being investigated. In February 2023 he was informed the scope and hours of his job were being changed and he was subsequently suspended, pending a disciplinary hearing. In May that year he received an email telling him the disciplinary process was being withdrawn and 20 minutes later he received a second email telling him he was dismissed with immediate effect. While Mr Middleton's unfair dismissal claim was upheld by the judge, his claim that he was acting as a whistleblower by raising his concerns with the trustees was not. Mr Middleton said: "Sculthorpe was something quite special. A place that had a real opening for people and nature. I'm hoping that legacy will still carry on." He said he now plans to work with farmers and landowners to help create new raptor habitats. Dr Andrew McCulloch, the chair of HOT, said: "The Hawk and Owl Trust is disappointed by the findings of the tribunal, particularly given that its actions were guided by independent professional HR advice. "While the tribunal rightly dismissed the whistleblowing allegations as being entirely unfounded and without merit, it upheld the unfair dismissal claim due to procedural shortcomings." The BBC reached out to Mr Blumfield for comment. Following that request a spokesperson for the trust said: "The charity will be reflecting on the judge's comments, seeking to learn lessons from this experience, while ensuring that our focus remains on our critical conservation work and delivery of our charitable objectives." The living room, off the foyer, has high ceilings with exposed wood beams, and a fireplace with a stone surround. Tall windows look out over the grounds from the living room and from a formal dining room, also off the foyer. Here, there are yellow painted walls, and a set of French doors opens to a narrow balcony. A powder room is off the foyer. Another dining area, also with tile floors, is on the other side of the kitchen, and this level holds a wood-paneled den that could also be used as a bedroom. A smaller den with a built-in bench seat is next door, and a full bathroom is also in this part of the house. At the end of a corridor extending from the dining area is the primary suite, which has windows that face the pool. The floors here are wood, and the primary bathroom has a combined tub and shower.
