The Sun27-06-2025
PETALING JAYA: Unique Fire Holdings Bhd, a fire protection systems and safety equipment provider, has transferred its listing to the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities.
The company's transition from Bursa Malaysia's ACE Market to the Main Market on Thursday comes less than three years after its initial public offering (IPO) in August 2022.
Executive director Datuk Marcus Liew Kang Leong expressed his pride in the company's achievement in transferring to the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.
'The transfer of listing of the company marks a step forward in our journey since 1997, where my father founded the company and established ourselves as one of the leading providers of fire protection systems and safety equipment in Malaysia.
'We are humbled to receive such an overwhelming response from everyone around us throughout this significant journey. This is one of the most rewarding accomplishments for Unique Fire,' he said in a statement.
Liew said that since the company's IPO for its listing on the ACE Market in August 2022, Unique Fire has made strong strides in financial performance and operational growth.
Revenue rose from RM75.74 million in financial year 2022 (FY22) to RM104.68 million in FY24, with net profit increasing from RM5.64 million to RM8.13 million.
'We've expanded our production capacity by more than 200%, increased storage space by nearly 68%, and integrated a warehouse management system.
'Geographically, we've opened two new offices in Johor Bahru and Penang to enhance the company's market presence in both the northern and southern regions,' he said.
Liew said sustainability remains key, with rooftop solar photovolataic systems reducing utility costs, while workforce and product range continue to grow.
'These milestones reflect our readiness for the Bursa Malaysia's Main Market. This is a new chapter for us, and our journey is far from over.
'With years of industry experience, we will continue our ongoing efforts to expand our product range to cater to consumers' ever-changing needs.
'We are excited for what lies ahead, and Unique Fire is confident in our proven ability to consistently build a solid foundation that supports our continued growth,' Liew said.
Unique Fire is primarily involved in the assembly, manufacture and distribution of active fire protection systems, equipment and accessories for built environments, such as fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, fire hose reels, fire hoses, fire alarms and detection devices.
Unique Fire also manufactures and distributes custom graphics for fire extinguishers.

Liew (third from left) receives a souvenir from the organizer, while Woi (second from right), Thien (right) and Hu look on. KOTA KINABALU (Aug 19): Sabah-China Chamber of Commerce president Datuk Frankie Liew welcomed more Chinese entrepreneurs to come to Sabah for investment and to explore opportunities for win-win partnerships with local entrepreneurs. He said Sabah is blessed with abundant natural resources and has huge potential that could be exploited. Liew said that when officiating at the opening ceremony of the New Chinese Furniture Exhibition at Oceanus Mall here yesterday. Also present were the organizer Dato' Woi Fook Lai, Public Relations Secretary to the State Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship (MIDE), Amos Thien Tze Tin and person-in-charge of the exhibition, Hu Shun Cheng. Liew said China's 1.4 billion population is a massive market, while Sabah has many high-quality products that can penetrate the Chinese market. 'Therefore, if entrepreneurs from China and Sabah can work together, the development opportunities will be limitless.' He said Sabah is not only blessed with beautiful scenery, but is also one of the most liveable places with harmonious coexistence of multi-ethnic communities and diverse cultures. 'I have been to many places around the world, and Sabah is truly one of the best places to live,' he said. On the other hand, Hu said the new Chinese-style furniture has gradually become a mainstream trend in the furniture market in recent years. 'The furniture do not only feature elements of the Chinese culture, but also reflects fashion and comfort of modern living.' He explained that new Chinese-style furniture are based on reinterpretations of Ming and Qing dynasty furniture, but feature contemporary design and craftmanship. 'Unlike overly complex decorations, the new Chinese-style furniture emphasizes practicality and simplicity, highlighting spatial balance and harmony between humans and nature that align with the pursuit of comfort, health and quality living.' He pointed out that with rising living standards, consumers' expectations of furniture now go beyond functionality, as they increasingly value cultural meaning and aesthetic appeal. New Chinese-style furniture perfectly meets this demand, thus rapidly gain popularity in the market, he said. 'New Chinese-style design emphasizes the use of natural elements and eco-friendly materials, in line with today's green living concept. China's shares extend gains on ample liquidity, trade optimism

Hong Kong's benchmark Hang Seng index traded 0.19% higher.(AP pic) HONG KONG : China stocks inched higher today, extending gains after a decade-high close in the previous session, supported by ample liquidity and sustained optimism over US-China trade negotiations. Hong Kong stocks also posted modest gains. At the midday break, the Shanghai Composite index was up 0.3% at 3,739.26 points, hovering around the highest intraday level since August 2015. China's blue-chip CSI300 index was up 0.13%. Hong Kong's benchmark Hang Seng index traded 0.19% higher. Analysts said market optimism, underpinned by the extension of the US-China trade truce and expectations of a weaker dollar, has driven increased inflows. Last week, the US and China extended a tariff truce for another 90 days, staving off triple-digit duties on each other's goods as US retailers get ready to ramp up inventories ahead of the critical end-of-year holiday season. 'We believe that the recent breakout in A-shares and in the HK market in July-August likely stems primarily from abundant liquidity and rising leverage,' Shujin Chen, China economist at Jefferies, said in a note. 'Local retail investors, as well as passive foreign funds have been increasing allocation to China and Hong Kong stocks,' she added. By sector, rare-earths and liquor stocks led gains in mainland A-shares, rising 2.8 and 2.6%, respectively. Property stocks outperformed in Hong Kong, with mainland developers listed in Hong Kong climbing 1.2%, after Chinese Premier Li Qiang called for forceful measures to stop losses in the property sector. 'With Hong Kong shares rising over 25% this year, there has been 'mild profit-taking/position-squaring' in the market,' said Charu Chanana, chief investment strategist at Saxo. She expects onshore A-shares continue to find near-term support from policy and liquidity, but noted that the next leg up needs broader earnings follow-through beyond state-owned firms, especially given the softer macro. The smaller Shenzhen index was up 0.45%, the start-up board ChiNext Composite index climbed 0.39% and Shanghai's tech-focused STAR50 index was unchanged.

SunCon confirms it is not under MACC probe

KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) has clarified that it is not under investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), which confirmed that its probe is limited to the personal conduct of a former employee. The company said it had received a written confirmation from MACC on Aug 18 clarifying that neither SunCon nor any of its subsidiaries are subjects of investigation under any provision of the MACC Act 2009, including Section 17A. SunCon described the case as an isolated incident, adding that the employee concerned has been terminated and remains under further investigation by the authorities. Managing director Liew Kok Wing said the group has since initiated a comprehensive audit and review of its tendering procedures to strengthen safeguards across its operations. "We reaffirm our commitment to the highest standards of transparency, governance and compliance. We want to assure stakeholders that the integrity of SunCon's operations remains intact and uncompromised," Liew said in a statement. He added that the company has enhanced its internal controls following the review by MACC to ensure that project delivery is not disrupted.
