Explore the prehistoric past in Big Island's new exhibit
HILO, Hawaii (KHON2) — A fascinating and immersive experience on the Big Island will send visitors on a thrilling journey to the Earth's prehistoric past.From now until May 4, the Imiloa Astronomy Center will host traveling exhibit 'Expedition Dinosaur: Into the Deep,' bringing lifelike animatronics, interactive displays and more to Hilo.
Visitors can come face-to-face with marine reptiles, dinosaurs and the dynamic ecosystems that shaped our planet.
Tackling Oahu's invasive coqui frog population
Developers Stage 9 Exhibits will also feature 'Journey to the Deep,' a 360-degree theater show that showcases 17 minutes of voyage through Mesozoic oceans.
Young paleontologists can also discover a life-sized Tyrannosaurus rex skull and unearth fossils through various hands-on activities.
'We're gonna have a bunch of programs to complement this exhibit. It's gonna be from toddler programs all the way up to 21 and over programs as well,' said Kuulei Poy, Imiloa Astronomy Center Program Planner.
Guests 21 and older can check out 'Dinos at Dusk' to earn after-hours access to exhibits, participate in unique activities and crafts and more.
General admission ticket prices are as follows:
Members: Adults for $7 and keiki five through 12 for $5
Non-Member: Adults for $26, seniors for $22 and keiki for $17
Kamaʻāina: Adults for $21, seniors for $17 and keiki for $14
Keiki four years and under are free

Brick Convention coming to Evansville this weekend
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Old National Events Plaza will be host to the Brick Convention this weekend. The Brick Convention is a LEGO fan event that features professional LEGO artists from around the world, local LEGO builders, and LEGO fans of all ages. Multiple sessions from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2 p.m.-5 p.m. will be available on both Saturday and Sunday for fans. Event goers will be able to see their favorite LEGO collectables and even some that are one of one. Each day will feature the same exhibits and activities, so fans won't have to worry about missing out if they can't make a day. Tickets to the convention will be $20 at the door, but $15 online.
