2025 KTM RC 200 Launched With New Colour; Check Details
KTM India recently made a major change to the lineup of motorcycles sold in the Indian market with an upward price revision. Among the models subjected to the change is RC 200, which got a hike of around Rs 11,000, bringing its price to Rs 2.54 lakh (ex-showroom). Along with this, the bike received changes in its powertrain to make it compliant with the stricter OBD-2B emission norms. Furthermore, the number of paint scheme options available for consumers has increased with the addition of a new paint scheme.
The latest colour variant is called Metallic Grey, featuring a striking blend of two grey shades complemented by a splash of orange on the fairing and tail section. This is highlighted by large 'KTM' lettering across the fairing, along with the 'RC' and 'Ready to Race' emblems. In this version, the alloy wheels are finished in black, unlike the Blue color option that showcases vibrant orange wheels. Conversely, the Black color variant is the most subtle of the three options, presenting an all-black design.

The rest of the details remain the same, with the bike based on a split-trellis tubular frame. It is suspended on 43 mm front USD forks and a 10-step adjustable monoshock at the rear end, both sourced from WP Apex. Braking is the responsibility of a 320 mm disc with radially mounted calipers at the front end and a 230 mm disc at the rear end with a floating caliper. All of this gives the bike a saddle height of 835 mm and a kerb weight of 160 kg.

Powering the KTM RC 200 is the same 199.5 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with curved radiator, which the brand claims offers better cooling. It is tuned to put out 24 hp of power and 19 Nm of peak torque. This power is transferred to the wheel using a six-speed gearbox. These qualities put the bike in the territory of the Yamaha R15.

The scooter claims a top speed of 71 kmph and offers a range of 95 km per charge. A full charge takes about 6 hours and 42 minutes. The Ather Rizta, on the other hand, offers more flexibility with two battery options—2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh. Its claimed range varies from 123 km to 160 km, and it boasts a higher top speed of 80 kmph, making it the stronger performer in terms of both range and speed. While the Ather Rizta clearly leads in range and top speed, the upcoming Suzuki e Access could attract buyers looking for a balance between performance, brand trust, and likely a slightly lower price tag. With established players entering the electric scooter market aggressively, customers now have more choices than ever.

CMRL holds trial run on Corridor 4 under Phase 2
CHENNAI: CMRL has begun simultaneous trial runs on both up and down lines of Corridor 4's 9.5km viaduct from Porur junction to Poonamallee bypass as part of its Rs 63,000 crore Phase 2 expansion project. The dual-line trial, which commenced on Friday, signals progress toward the targeted December 2025 launch. Six driverless trains, manufactured by Alstom, will operate on this stretch under unattended train operations, with manual supervision for the first five to six months. 'We are focused on a gradual transition to ensure stability and safety,' said MA Siddique, CMRL MD. The 10-station elevated stretch had earlier seen phased testing on the 3km upline between Mullaithottam and Poonamallee and a 9.1km segment from Porur to Poonamallee. Friday's downline test marked the first full-directional run, with Poonamallee depot serving as the operations hub during commissioning.

Kamal Haasan files papers for RS polls, declares Rs 305 crore assets
CHENNAI: Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has declared assets worth Rs 305.55 crore (Rs 245.86 crore worth of movable assets and Rs 59.69 crore in immovable assets) in his nomination papers filed for the Rajya Sabha polls on Friday. His overall liability, however, has remained the same at Rs 49 crore over the last four years. Kamal's income as per his tax returns for 2023-2024 was Rs 78.9 crore, up from Rs 22.1 crore in 2019-2020. Value of his movable assets has gone up to Rs 59.69 crore, a rise of nearly Rs 15 crore from Rs 45.09 crore reported in 2021. The value of his immovable assets stands at Rs 245.86 crore, up from Rs 131.84 crore in 2021. He owns four commercial buildings – two in Alwarpet, one in Uthandi, and another one in Sholinganallur –- which have a combined approximate market value of Rs 111.1 crore. He also owns agricultural land in Vilpatti village in Dindigul valued at Rs 22.24 crore. He had also upgraded his BMW 730 LD car purchased in 2015 and Lexus Lx 570 Lanson in 2018 to newer vehicles from the same brand. He has also added a Mercedes Benz to his line-up of luxury cars in four years since 2021.
