The latest colour variant is called Metallic Grey, featuring a striking blend of two grey shades complemented by a splash of orange on the fairing and tail section. This is highlighted by large 'KTM' lettering across the fairing, along with the 'RC' and 'Ready to Race' emblems. In this version, the alloy wheels are finished in black, unlike the Blue color option that showcases vibrant orange wheels. Conversely, the Black color variant is the most subtle of the three options, presenting an all-black design.

The rest of the details remain the same, with the bike based on a split-trellis tubular frame. It is suspended on 43 mm front USD forks and a 10-step adjustable monoshock at the rear end, both sourced from WP Apex. Braking is the responsibility of a 320 mm disc with radially mounted calipers at the front end and a 230 mm disc at the rear end with a floating caliper. All of this gives the bike a saddle height of 835 mm and a kerb weight of 160 kg.

Powering the KTM RC 200 is the same 199.5 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with curved radiator, which the brand claims offers better cooling. It is tuned to put out 24 hp of power and 19 Nm of peak torque. This power is transferred to the wheel using a six-speed gearbox. These qualities put the bike in the territory of the Yamaha R15.

1.4 lakh transactions recorded on 1st day of annual toll pass
Representative Image NEW DELHI: Around 1.4 lakh FASTag users have bought the annual toll pass and on the first day around a similar number of transactions were recorded at toll plazas on NHs and National Expressways, the NHAI said on Friday. The toll pass scheme was rolled out from Thursday midnight. In a statement, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said that about 1,150 toll plazas on NHs and NEs are processing the passes "Around 20,000-25,000 concurrent users are using Rajmargyatra App at any point of time and annual pass users are receiving SMS messages for zero deduction of toll fee," it said. The highways authority said officials have been deployed at each toll plaza to ensure a smooth travel experience for pass users. "NHAI is addressing queries of the pass users through various channels. To address the grievances of pass users, 1033 NH helpline number has been further strengthened with the addition of over 100 executives," it added. The annual pass eliminates the need to frequently recharge FASTag through one-time fee payment of Rs 3,000 for a year's validity or 200 toll plaza crossings. The is applicable for all non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag and gets activated within two hours of the fee payment through Rajmargyatra App or NHAI website.

The pass, available at over 1,150 toll plazas nationwide, allows non-commercial vehicle owners unlimited travel for one year or up to 200 trips with a one-time payment of Rs 3,000. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said it has 'successfully implemented" the FASTag annual pass facility on national highways and expressways nationwide. Around 20,000-25,000 concurrent users are using the Rajmargyatra app at any given time, and annual pass users receive SMS messages for zero toll fee deduction. 'The Annual Pass has received an overwhelming response from the National Highway users. Till 7 pm on the first day of implementation, around 1.4 lakh users purchased and activated the annual pass and around 1.39 lakh transactions were recorded on toll plaza," it said. NHAI officials and nodal officers have been appointed at each toll plaza to ensure a smooth travel experience for the pass users, apart from addressing queries of the pass users through various channels. Also, to address the grievances of pass users, 1033 National Highway Helpline has been further strengthened with the addition of over 100 executives, the government said. Providing a seamless and economical travel option to the national highway users, the annual pass eliminates the need to frequently recharge FASTag through a one-time fee payment of Rs 3,000. With a penetration rate of around 98 per cent and over eight crore users, FASTag has revolutionised the electronic toll collection system in the country. The introduction of the annual pass facility will not only enhance the FASTag user experience but also make journeys on the national highways and expressways more economical and seamless. The annual pass can be attached to the user's existing FASTag card. Once the pass expires, either after one year or 200 trips, it can be easily recharged. The official said the pass would benefit frequent city-to-city travellers and those who drive regularly to their hometowns. Accidents with elderly at the wheel reignite push for age-based restrictions
Two road accidents in Hyderabad involving motorists in their 80s have renewed calls for stricter checks on elderly drivers, with road safety experts warning that declining reflexes and vision can turn them into a hazard on busy urban roads. On July 4, an 88-year-old man lost control of his sedan on the curve after the ISKCON temple, heading towards YMCA in Gopalapuram. He struck multiple vehicles before being stopped by bystanders, injuring a woman. Police booked him under Sections 279 and 337 of the BNS Act for rash and negligent driving. Earlier, an 84-year-old retired IPS officer, who served as inspector general of police before retiring in 2000, fatally ran over a class IX student on the Ramakrishnapuram flyover near Neredmet. The boy died on the spot, prompting criticism from activists over why he was still permitted to drive. Under the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act, there is no maximum age limit for driving. However, those over 50 must submit a medical fitness certificate for licence renewal, valid for five years. Road safety experts say this system fails to account for rapid changes in health among those in their 70s and 80s. 'Elderly people driving on roads have become hazardous for other road users as their vision and muscle strength are not enough to try on Indian roads and we do not have that infrastructure,' says. Vinod K. Kanumala, founder & chief functionary, Indian Federation of Road Safety. 'Many accidents are taking place but are ignored because of their age. At this age, old people are very rude if something happens on the road. I have personally experienced it. This has to be addressed at the earliest, as speed and traffic volume have increased. The maximum age limit should be 70 or 75, after which the licence must be cancelled,' he adds. A Road Transport Authority official, speaking anonymously, called overage driving a blind spot in enforcement. 'In cities like Hyderabad, we routinely encounter elderly drivers navigating chaotic traffic with limited reflexes and declining eyesight,' the official said. While countries such as the United Kingdom and Japan require older drivers to undergo regular cognitive and vision checks, in India, the responsibility is largely left to drivers and their families. 'We are not saying senior citizens should not drive,' says Praveen Kumar, a road safety expert from Hyderabad. 'But there must be stricter recurring checks for those above 75.' Police said the vehicles in both Hyderabad accidents were properly registered and the drivers held valid licences. With India's ageing population rising, experts say only a combination of tighter rules, regular testing and public awareness can prevent more tragedies.
