Proteas men and women to clash with New Zealand in T20 double-headers

The Proteas men's and women's teams will jointly tour New Zealand in March next year and feature against their Kiwi opponents on the same day in five T20 double-headers.
The five-match T20 series will take place from 15 to 25 March 2026, with both the women's and men's teams playing on the same day at the same venue — a first for the two nations in a bilateral series.
The Proteas women will take on the White Ferns in afternoon matches, followed by the Proteas men and the Black Caps featuring against each other under lights in the evening, offering fans back-to-back matches at grounds in Mount Maunganui (15 March), Hamilton (17 March), Auckland (20 March), Wellington (22 March) and Christchurch (25 March).

ODI matches
Following the T20s, the Proteas women's team will remain in New Zealand for a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series from 29 March to 4 April, which forms part of the second round of IWC matches for qualification to the 2029 Women's Cricket World Cup.
Commenting on the T20 double-headers, Director of National Teams and High Performance, Enoch Nkwe said: 'This is an exciting step forward in our relationship with New Zealand Cricket. Hosting both the women's and men's fixtures as double-headers throughout the T20 series will offer fans a more inclusive and engaging cricketing experience.
'It will no doubt be a competitive tour, and we look forward to what promises to be an exciting series for both the Proteas men and women.'

Springboks get New Zealand referee for Cape Town Test
The Springboks will have another New Zealand referee in charge for their second 2025 Rugby Championship Test against Australia in Cape Town on Saturday, 23 August. The clash at the Cape Town Stadium will kick off at 17:10. No DNA, just tears for RSA as Proteas, Springboks and Dricus du Plessis lose
It was a sporting weekend to forget if you're South African. With the Proteas, Springboks and Dricus du Plessis all flying the SA flag on the biggest stage, it ended in a trio of losses. First, it was the Proteas men's cricket team which went down to hosts Australia in the final T20 International of their three-match series on Saturday morning SA time. While the Proteas posted a decent, but not particularly imposing, 172 in their innings, they were unable to dismiss the talented Glenn Maxwell as he made a scintillating 62 from 36 as he led his side to victory in the last over. Prodigy Dewald Brevis was again the star for the Proteas with the bat, with a scorching 53 from 26 before he was out, but aside from him, the rest of the SA batsmen struggled on what looked like a different pitch on which 'Baby AB' looked a class above. With Mitchell Marsh (54) and Travis Head (19) laying a good platform, the Proteas then reduced Australia to 122/6. Despite a masterful bowling display by Corbin Bosch (3/26) as he reeled off a number of perfect yorkers, the Proteas were unable to stop a rampant Maxwell. It was then the turn of the Springboks to thump the Wallabies at Ellis Park in the Rugby Championship, or so we thought. Though Australia had not won at the hallowed SA rugby venue since 1963, a second-half display for the ages allowed the visitors to record an incredible piece of history. In fact, the Boks had led 22-0 after 19 minutes, but from that point the Wallabies worked their way back into the match to finally emerge deserved 38-22 victors.
