Teenage e-bike riders' prank goes horrifically wrong leaving baby in hospital - as her mother hits out

Daily Mail5 hours ago

A five-month-old baby girl was rushed to hospital with thick, white powder covering her eyes after an e-bike rider sprayed her with a fire extinguisher.
Tiffani Teasdale was driving with her five-month-old baby, Pixie, on High Street in Sippy Downs, on Queensland 's Sunshine Coast, when they stopped at a traffic light about 7.45pm on Sunday.
As they waited, two teenagers on e-bikes pulled up next to their car, stuck a fire extinguisher through its rear window and set it off before quickly riding away.
'The car just filled up with gas and white powder straight away,' Ms Teasdale told ABC News.
'[Pixie] was completely covered in white powder and just looked like she was in shock, she wasn't even crying.'
The horrified mother rushed to hospital where Pixie had to have 100ml of saline solution put in her eyes to clean off the chemical powder.
'The doctors had to hold her down for me because it was the most horrible thing I've ever heard ... no one should have to go through that,' Ms Teasdale said.
Pixie was discharged from hospital early Monday morning with her mother urged to continue monitoring her symptoms.
The shocked mother described the attack on a local community group.
She said while she was 'all for young having fun', the prank went too far and could have caused Pixie's eyes severe and maybe permanent damage.
She said the child's face remained red, her eyes were swollen and her breathing was 'wheezy' once she left hospital.
'I hope whoever has done this sees this posts and realises there will be consequences for your actions,' she wrote online.
'A five-second dopamine rush is not worth someone's life.
'I could only imagine If this had been someone with respiratory issues. Do better.'
She was later alerted of a fire extinguisher discovered down the road from where she and her daughter were sprayed, which she will take to police.
The fire extinguisher left a thick coat of chemical powder all over the family car's interior and destroyed Pixie's pram, toys and nappy bag.
A local car detailing business, Grime Busters, has since offered to clean the damage for free.
Queensland Police said it is aware of the incident and investigating.

Horror moment car ploughs into pedestrian TWICE in front of onlookers as man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

THIS is the horrifying moment a car reversed into a pedestrian - before ploughing into them a second time. One local watched on in horror as they filmed the incident, as the pedestrian was launched into the air by the force of the crash. 3 3 In the video, a white car with a sunroof can be seen swerving around a second black car - slamming into a pedestrian in the process. The unnamed walker in orange was knocked to the ground by the impact whilst a woman can be heard shouting in Tower Hamlets, in London, on Sunday. Then, the vehicle drove into the man again which propelled him into the air. As he hit the ground, the woman can be seen trying to pry open the car door whilst shouting: 'Open this f***ing car!' Turning around, she shouts for onlookers to 'call the police '. Finally, the people in the car emerged from the vehicle. One man wearing blue shorts immediately bolted from the vehicle and escaped on foot. Meanwhile, a man in grey robes silently waited next to the vehicle. The unnamed woman continued shouting at one of the other occupants - dressed in all black - but, like the other man, he ran away on foot. Shocked onlookers watched on in horror as the argument unfolded. Finally, the car's driver - dressed in neon blue - retrieves something from the car before escaping as well. This horrifying chain of events is understood to be one of two car crashes which took place in Tower Hamlets on June 14. In one of the incidents, the car collided with a man in his 20s, forcing emergency services to rush him to hospital. He was then treated for non-threatening injuries. A second man was also struck shortly during that collision, but his status is unknown. Police are now appealing to that second man to come forward to help them in their investigation. The second crash took place shortly after and saw all four of the people in the vehicle escaping on foot. The 40-year-old man struck by the car in that collision was rushed to hospital and has also been treated for non-threatening injuries. An 18-year-old has been arrested under suspicion of attempted murder, but three of the four people in the car have yet to be traced. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police has said: 'Police are making urgent enquiries to trace the three other people in the car. 'Anybody who witnessed the incident – or who has information – should call 101, quoting crime reference 7432/14JUN.' 3

Developer and four men in court after woman killed by falling bricks

A woman who was killed when more than two tonnes of bricks fell from a crane was with a friend after just dropping their children off at school, a court has heard. Michaela Boor, 30, was hit by the pallet of bricks as she walked along the pavement on the corner of Burdett Road in Bethnal Green, east London, in 2018. A developer and four men appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday facing manslaughter charges. Higgins Homes Plc is accused of corporate manslaughter and a health and safety offence. Thomas Anstis, 68, of Banstead, Surrey; Stephen Coulson, 68, of Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire; Dawood Mann, 59, of Ashford, Kent; and Alexander McInnes 32, of Islington, north London, are each accused of one count of gross negligence manslaughter and a health and safety offence. The defendants spoke only to confirm their identities. Busola Johnson, prosecuting, told the court that the case surrounds "a fatal accident" on 27 March 2018 in which a member of the public was killed when a "large number of bricks" fell on her as she walked past a building site. Higgins Homes Plc was a property developer, Anstis was the site manager, Coulson was responsible for compiling the lifting plan for the site, Mann was a crane supervisor and McInnes was a crane operator, the prosecution said. Ms Boor suffered very serious injuries and received medical help at the scene and in hospital but died two days later, Ms Johnson said. The defendants were given bail by Judge Briony Clarke until their next court appearance at the Old Bailey on 14 July.
