
'Unexploded ordnance' found at Glasgow bridge as bomb squad rushes to scene
The newly installed bridge, which only opened last month, has been closed after a possible ordnance device was found around 10am this morning on a nearby building site.
The Renfrew Bridge has been locked down by cops with bomb squad called in over a possible 'ordnance device'.
The newly installed bridge, which only opened last month, has been closed after a possible ordnance device was found around 10am this morning on a nearby building site.
The bridge which spans across the Clyde linking Renfrew and Yoker has been closed down to all traffic and pedestrians. People have been asked to find alternative routes.
Police say Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams have been contacted.

More info A motorcyclist remains in hospital with serious injuries following a one-vehicle crash on the A55 on Friday evening. The collision – involving an Aprilia RS motorcycle, happened just before 5.30pm at Penmaenbach headland, just prior to the tunnel on the eastbound carriageway. It saw the A55 closed between Penmaenmawr and Llandudno Junction. An air ambulance landed on the A55 as part of the emergency response and airlifted the biker to hospital. Police now want to speak to a potential witness who was driving a Mercedes. "Officers are appealing for any witnesses and are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a grey Mercedes who may have witnessed the collision but did not remain at the scene. "Anybody with information that could assist with the investigation is asked to contact officers at the Roads Crime Unit via the website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 25000507421." Woman fights for life after Llandudno crash as driver arrested

More info A woman is fighting for her life after a crash in Llandudno. The incident happened on Saturday night in Llandudno. Police received a 999-call just after 8.30pm reporting an incident at Cwm Place involving a grey coloured Seat Altea. The female passenger of the vehicle was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd by ambulance. She was later transferred to a specialist trauma unit in Stoke. Police said she has "serious, life-threatening injuries". Sign up for the North Wales Live newsletter sent twice daily to your inbox The driver – a 23-year-old woman - was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving with no insurance. She has since been released on bail pending further enquiries. Acting Sergeant Duncan Logan of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: 'The investigation to establish the cause of the collision is underway and we are appealing for anybody who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have seen the car being driven prior to the collision to contact us as soon as possible. "We are also urging anyone with doorbell camera or dash cam footage to contact us.' The 24-year-old from Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire was described as a very experienced wingsuit flyer - which is type of skydiving which involves wearing a special suit with webbing.
