Addressing a gathering during the inauguration of 500 family quarters for jawans, a 20-bed hospital, a store building, a tradesmen's shop, and a main barrack to accommodate 180 personnel, the minister said, "CRPF plays a crucial role in safeguarding internal peace and security of the country and their sacrifices are invaluable."
He also said, "The CRPF is one of the finest paramilitary forces in the world. We cannot forget their bravery and sacrifices for the motherland.
Whether it's fighting terrorism and separatism in Jammu & Kashmir, confronting insurgency in the Northeast, or eliminating Maoist threats in central India, CRPF's valour is truly extraordinary."
On the paramilitary force's role during elections, Kumar said, "The deployment of CRPF during state assembly elections across the country reflects the nation's trust in the force. It plays a crucial role in conducting free, fair, and peaceful elections, safeguarding the democratic process.
Currently, the CRPF is playing a key role in countering Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in J&K, restoring peace, and neutralizing terrorists.
They are also crucial in ensuring the safe conduct of the Amarnath Yatra."
He also commended the role of the force, particularly in Manipur, in stabilising the situation and restoring peace in the northeastern state.
"In Maoist-affected regions of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, the CRPF operations and initiatives aligned with govt policies have motivated hundreds of rebels to surrender, renounce violence and return to the mainstream," he said.

Dedication of young entrepreneurs can transform India into global drone hub: Minister

New Delhi: Dedication of young entrepreneurs can transform India into a global hub for drone technology, said Union Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan while inaugurating Garuda Aerospace's new agri-drone indigenisation facility in Chennai. The Minister also inaugurated 300 Centres of Excellence (CoE) and flagged off Garuda Aerospace's DGCA-approved Train the Trainer (TTT) programme. Paswan lauded Garuda Aerospace for its visionary efforts in making India self-reliant in drone technology. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji's vision of transforming India into a global drone hub can truly be realised through the dedication of young entrepreneurs,' said Paswan. He also lauded the Bharat Drone Association for uniting local component manufacturers under one roof at the indigenisation factory, a state-of-the-art facility capable of manufacturing over 1 lakh drones in the next two years. The Minister expressed his admiration, noting that he had never seen 2,000 agri-drones in a single location, as he witnessed at the Garuda Indigenous Manufacturing Facility -- a remarkable feat showcasing India's capability to lead in drone innovation and scale. The launch also witnessed a dynamic live demonstration of Agri-Drones by highly skilled Drone Didis showcasing Garuda Aerospace's commitment to fostering self-reliance and innovation within the burgeoning drone ecosystem. 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave us a vision in 2022 to manufacture one lakh made-in-India drones by 2026. We have delivered 4,000 drones so far, and are confident we will achieve this target in the next two years,' said Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace. Spread across 35,000 square feet Garuda Aerospace's state-of-the-art agri-drone indigenisation facility is the country's first-of-its-kind hub for the design, manufacturing, and rigorous testing of advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The new facility marks the expansion of Garuda Aerospace's existing manufacturing unit and is a major leap in advancing drone manufacturing and skill development in India. The TTT programme, on the other hand, is Garuda Aerospace's flagship skill-building and development initiative which is designed to empower educators and professionals to become certified drone instructors. In addition, the strategically located 300 Centres of Excellence (CoEs) across India in collaboration with academic institutions and industry partners will advance drone innovation, research, and skill development through a strong partner network.

Military-civil liaison meeting in Jammu focuses on synergy post Op Sindoor

More than a month after the launch of Operation Sindoor, a two-day military civil liaison conference was held here to enhance synergy and deliberate on critical issues, including ongoing efforts to support the local population along the border areas, the Indian Army on Saturday said. The conference, held on June 12 and 13 at Satwari cantonment, was among others attended by General Officer Commanding, Tiger Division, Maj Gen Mukesh Bhanwala, and Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, said a defence spokesman. Operation Sindoor saw close coordination and integration between Tiger Division, para military forces and civil administration to counter the nefarious design of the adversary. The conference was organised to further enhance this synergy, he added. Under Operation Sindoor, the Indian armed forces carried out missile strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) during the intervening night of May 6 and 7 in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 persons, mostly tourists, dead on April 22. The spokesman said that the high-level meeting brought together senior army officials and representatives from key government departments of Jammu division to discuss matters of strategic and civic importance. The conference served as a platform to deliberate on critical issues such as infrastructure development, civic-military synergy in the remote areas and the ongoing efforts to support the local populations along the border areas, he added. Maj Gen Bhanwala emphasised the importance of seamless collaboration between civil and military agencies. The divisional commissioner of Jammu during his address acknowledged the Indian Army's sustained efforts in humanitarian assistance and infrastructure support across the region. The discussions during the conference also covered the issues of road connectivity in border villages, border area tourism and welfare measures for ex-servicemen and their families, the spokesman said. The conference concluded with a reaffirmed commitment as a Whole of Nation Approach' towards peace, development and resilience in Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
