Will Vince McMahon buy back WWE? Legal hurdles and speculation mount

The wrestling world was sent into a frenzy earlier this week following rumors that
Vince McMahon
, the former CEO of
WWE
, was considering buying back the company from TKO Group Holdings. The claims first surfaced on a podcast hosted by ex-WWE broadcaster Jonathan Coachman and quickly gained traction across social media platforms and wrestling news sites.
However, multiple reputable sources have since dismissed the possibility as nothing more than speculation. Industry insiders and financial experts have weighed in, pointing out the many obstacles McMahon would face in attempting such a move.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select provided a detailed breakdown of the situation, firmly stating that McMahon does not have the financial means or corporate leverage to regain control of WWE.
'McMahon would almost certainly not have the financial means at this point to purchase the company,' Sapp wrote. 'He doesn't have the ability to buy back a controlling interest.'
Though McMahon still holds a stake in TKO Group Holdings, it is reportedly comparable to that of other major investors such as the Vanguard Group. The majority ownership lies with corporate giants Endeavor, Silver Lake Equity Partners, and Egon Durban, who together control over 60% of the company.
Legal troubles cloud the horizon
McMahon's ongoing legal challenges further diminish any chances of a business comeback. He remains embroiled in a sexual misconduct lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant, alleging serious accusations. Recently, John Laurinaitis, a former WWE executive also named in the lawsuit, was dropped as a defendant after agreeing to provide evidence against McMahon.
This development adds to the legal pressure on McMahon and complicates any potential plans he might have to re-enter WWE's management or ownership.
Since McMahon officially stepped down from WWE in early 2024, the company has continued to flourish. Under the creative and operational leadership of Paul 'Triple H' Levesque and TKO's management, WWE has reported record-breaking numbers in live event attendance, viewership ratings, and merchandise sales.
The market valuation of WWE has also risen significantly since the acquisition, making the prospect of McMahon buying back the company a steep financial mountain to climb.
Despite expert reports debunking the buyback rumors, discussions about a Vince McMahon return persist among wrestling fans and industry watchers. While his legendary role in shaping WWE's history fuels speculation, insiders maintain that the doors to WWE ownership are firmly closed to the former chairman - at least for now.

MAGA activist Steve Bannon claims Elon Musk got physical with Scott Bessent, reveals all details

Steve Bannon, ex-Trump strategist, said Elon Musk got physical with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent during a fight at the White House, as per Daily Mail report. This happened because Bessent accused Musk of failing to cut enough government spending as promised. Bessent told Musk, "You promised $1 trillion in cuts, and now it's just $100 billion. What are you doing?" Musk didn't like that and shoved Bessent. It wasn't just a shouting match, it was a real physical fight. The White House confirmed the incident happened in April, on Musk's last day as a special advisor to Trump. Leavitt said that Trump's team is full of passionate people, and disagreements happen sometimes, as stated in the report by Daily Mail. Around the same time, New York Times also reported that Musk had been using drugs like ketamine, ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms during the campaign. Back in April, when the fight first became public, one witness said it looked like 'two billionaire middle-aged men thinking it was WWE in the West Wing', as mentioned in the report by Axios. Bessent was heard yelling 'Fuck you!' repeatedly at Musk. Musk replied 'I can't hear you. Say it louder.' The fight started in the Oval Office, then moved near Chief of Staff Susie Wiles' office, and then to the National Security Advisor's office, according to the report by Axios. Live Events Bannon said Trump supported Bessent 100% after the fight. Trump also got mad at Musk earlier in March, when Musk had another clash, this time with Marco Rubio over mass firings at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). After that March fight, Trump publicly said he wanted to limit Musk's cost-cutting ideas, as per reports. Now that Musk is no longer working at the White House, he has started saying a few things he doesn't fully agree with about Trump's team. According to the report by CBS Sunday Morning, Musk said that while he agrees with some of what the administration does, there are things he doesn't fully support. Musk said he's in a 'bind' because he doesn't want to attack the administration, but also doesn't want to be blamed for everything they do. FAQ Q1. Why did Elon Musk and Scott Bessent fight? They fought after Bessent accused Musk of not cutting enough government spending. Q2. Did Trump support Musk after the White House fight? No, Trump supported Scott Bessent after the fight, according to Steve Bannon.

WWE set to welcome Mariah May and Jordynne Grace in major roster shift

Image via AEW The women's division in WWE looks set for a shake-up, as former AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May is reportedly WWE-bound. AEW quietly removed May from their online roster on Friday, signaling her official exit and fueling speculation about her long-rumored move to Stamford. Known as 'The Glamour,' May rose to prominence in AEW following a headline-making feud with Toni Storm. That rivalry culminated in her capturing the AEW Women's Title at All In London 2024 before dropping it back to Storm at Grand Slam Australia in February. Her last AEW appearance came at Revolution 2025, where she unsuccessfully challenged for the title once again. Now, as WWE gears up for Evolution II on July 13, a pay-per-view focused solely on female talent - fans believe May could make her first appearance there. Why May chose WWE over a bigger paycheck While May was reportedly offered competitive deals from other promotions, including a possible AEW renewal, reports suggest that the move to WWE was driven by personal ambition. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer claimed that, like Stephanie Vaquer, May prioritized a WrestleMania moment over a bigger paycheck elsewhere. 'It's the same reason they didn't get Will Ospreay or Okada,' Meltzer noted. 'May and Vaquer just valued the dream of WWE more than anything.' Adding to the excitement, Jordynne Grace, who has been part of NXT in recent months as part of WWE's integration with TNA, is also rumored to be heading to SmackDown. Her promotion would follow recent main roster debuts of Roxanne Perez and Giulia, both of whom are confirmed for the Money in the Bank women's ladder match next week. If Grace and May debut around the same time, WWE's women's roster could see a significant refresh - especially heading into the high-profile summer stretch. Social media has been buzzing with fan excitement. One user commented, 'Best signing in 2025, thus far!' while another warned, 'Somebody tell the divas to buckle up, the new era just entered the chat.' May's confident social media presence has also stirred buzz. Recently, she shut down dating rumors with a witty post: 'I only like hot women that are older than me.' With Evolution II and Money in the Bank around the corner, all eyes are now on WWE's next moves. Whether it's SmackDown or a surprise PLE debut, Mariah May looks ready to step into the spotlight.
