In an official statement, the club said:
'The 23-year-old successfully completed his medical and agreed on personal terms, allowing him to travel to Hong Kong later this week to join his new teammates on their pre-season tour of Asia.'
Several media outlets reported that the transfer fee for the France U-21 international to Anfield is valued at £69 million ($92 million).
Liverpool turned their focus to Ekitike after Newcastle United refused to sell their Swedish international striker Alexander Isak, who is reportedly valued at around £150 million by his club.
Newcastle and Manchester United were also interested in Ekitike, but Liverpool outpaced both clubs in the race to sign one of Europe's most promising young talents.
According to media reports, Liverpool agreed to pay an additional £10 million in add-ons, which could bring the total value of the deal to £79 million.
Ekitike scored 22 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions for Frankfurt last season, having joined the German club from Paris Saint-Germain.
