A Refreshing Brew Perfect for Life's Unexpected Delays, Blue Point's Delayed Pilsner is Now Available at Transit Hubs Across New York City
PATCHOGUE, N.Y., May 06, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Blue Point Brewing Co., a Tilray Brands, Inc., (NASDAQ: TLRY and TSX: TLRY) craft beer brand, announces the highly anticipated re-release of Delayed Pilsner, a beer crafted to soothe the soul of every New Yorker facing the inevitable delays of city life.
Whether it's 2 minutes or 2 hours, delays are scientifically proven to be the bane of any New Yorker's existence. But fear not, Blue Point Brewing has brewed the ultimate lager to get you through this abomination. Delayed Pilsner is brewed with a blend of floral, spicy hops that impart subtle apple and lemon-lime aromas. Balanced by slight honey notes from a creamy malt body, the result is a crisp, drinkable lager that will make your crowded, frustrating, too-much-body-heat-filled delay just a bit more bearable.
Delayed Pilsner
'We understand the challenges of city life and the frustration that comes with delays,' said Carrie Shafir, Senior Brand Director, Tilray Beverages. 'Delayed Pilsner is our way of helping New Yorkers find a moment of peace amidst the chaos. It's a beer that's not just refreshing but also comforting.'
Delayed Pilsner is now available in 16oz cans starting at transit hubs throughout the Metro New York area and select retailers. The can's design is inspired by the numerous 'delayed' signs scattered across Long Island destinations on Penn Station's departure board.

‘Fare adjustment'? Sorry, Janno Lieber: New Yorkers know a fare hike when they see one

Luiz C. Ribeiro for New York Post 'Fare adjustment': That's what MTA boss Janno Lieber laughably calls the next subway-fare hike. Give us a break: A hike is a hike. And every New Yorker knows it. Lieber is resorting to Team Hochul's Orwellian-naming schtick for papering over bad news and rotten policy. Advertisement As in the faux-wonk term 'congestion pricing' for a $9-per-trip tax that's still headed back to the originally-planned $15 — which will doubtless rise on in what Lieber can call 'a congestion pricing adjustment.' More mush: Don't forget that Gov. Kathy Hochul bragged about 'saving' New Yorkers money by starting with only $9 when she socked them with that tax, not the full $15?) Advertisement OK: The subway hike is just a dime, to $3 (for now). But it comes atop countless other taxes that hit New York residents with the nation's heaviest state- and local-tax burden. 'While a small increase may seem like nothing to you at all, it makes a big difference,' one resident, Hannah Reed, told MTA board members. Check out more newsletters Advertisement Yet the brass won't admit the truth: 'I would not call this a hike,' board member Neal Zuckerman huffed. It's 'a very gradual raise, and I think very respectful of the inflation and affordability issues.' What arrogance. As one straphanger, Emmanuel Vasquez, fumed, 'There's always flooding, there's always a brake emergency, there's always a power outage' on the subway, but officials never stop zapping riders with hikes. And that's despite the billions the agency collects not just from fares but city, state and federal tax revenue, corporations, individual taxes and, yes, 'congestion pricing.' Advertisement And while it diverts money to politically-driven projects like Second Avenue Subway expansion: On Monday, the board OK'd a $1.9 billion contract for just a part of project; the final tab will run at least $7 billion for just three new stations. Lieber & Co. know darn well their repeated dips into New Yorkers' pockets sting; they just don't care to admit it. Why else hide behind weasel words?

$7.7B Second Avenue subway expansion will put NYC store out of business after 30 years, owner claims: ‘I'm getting a raw deal'

It's the last stop for this East Harlem business. A construction supply firm will be forced to shutter after more than three decades as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority moves to seize its property to make way for the long-awaited Second Avenue Subway expansion. Lu Nicaj, owner of Tile Stone, told The Post he'll have to close up shop because the MTA is commandeering the business' lot at 2244 Second Avenue under eminent domain. 'I'm getting a raw deal,' Nicaj, 59, said. 'They are pretty much running me into the ground. I'm closing the door. That's the end of my business.' Advertisement MTA board members this week approved a $1.9 billion contract for the Second Avenue subway's phase two — which involves a blitz of legal seizures to clear the way for planned new subway stations at 116th and 125th streets. The properties are largely along Second Avenue and 125th Street, and include 33 apartments, officials said. 3 Lu Nicaj said his store Tile Stone will be put out of business by the Second Avenue subway project. Georgett Roberts/NY Post Advertisement Tile Stone's storefront at 2250 Second Avenue — which had a 'Liquidation Sale' sign up Tuesday — is too small to hold his contracting inventory, so Nicaj had been renting a nearby vacant lot from the same landlord to keep the building supplies. While the storefront is not on the eminent domain list Nicaj said he'll nonetheless be seriously affected because that lot at 2244 Second Avenue is up to be seized by the MTA. 'I can't stay in business. I've been here for 32 years,' said Nicaj, addign that he has already shifted 75% of his inventory to a warehouse upstate. 'That puts me out of business pretty much,' he said. 'When contractors come to buy instead of saying, 'Come back in a few days,' I have the stock right here. My store is small, that's why I lease the lot. It's like a warehouse.' Advertisement 3 The MTA is seizing several properties along Second Avenue under eminent domain. Stephen Yang for the New York Post 3 The seizures will clear the way for new stations along the long-awaited Second Avenue subway. MTA The dozens of New Yorkers who'll be displaced by the project will receive help from the MTA, which spent $10 million on relocations for similar eminent domain actions during the subway extension's first phase, officials have said. Nicaj said he met with the MTA and told officials that relocating his makeshift warehouse elsewhere won't work. Advertisement 'We are going to have another meeting to see what's the next thing they can do. I'm looking for some kind of compensation,' he said. 'I've told my lawyer to be prepared to go to battle with MTA.' Nicaj is also not hopeful that he can find affordable rent anywhere else, especially below East 106th Street. 'I can't have my store here and my warehouse 10 blocks away,' he said. MTA officials didn't return a request for comment. — Additional reporting by Haley Brown
