
Canadiens sign Montreal-born Joe Veleno to a one-year, one-way contract
General manager Kent Hughes announced that the team has signed the 25-year-old Kirkland native, a neighbourhood on Montreal's West Island, to a one-year, one-way contract.
The 6-foot-1 centre played 74 games with the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks in 2024-25, scoring 8 goals and adding 9 assists.
The Montreal native also represented Canada at the 2023 World Championship, bringing home a gold medal.
