Colorado State Patrol investigating rollover crash in Boulder, driver injured
Colorado State Patrol is investigating after a rollover crash pinned and injured a driver in Boulder.
According to the Mountain View Fire Rescue, a Tesla rolled multiple times into a field in the 6800 block of South Boulder Road Sunday. Fire rescue, along with the Louisville Fire Department, responded to the scene and found one person pinned inside the vehicle.
First responders managed to extricate the driver, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Officials said they do not have an update on the condition of the driver.
The crash remains under investigation.

Tesla executives have been pretty clear about timing. 'We're still focused on bringing cheaper models to market soon. The start of production is still planned for June,' said Tesla chief financial officer Vaibhav Taneja during the first quarter earnings conference call on April 22. A June 2 Reuters story claims to confirm that the so-called $25,000 'Model 2' was canceled by CEO Elon Musk. This comes more than a year after Musk denied the original April 2024 Reuters report about cancellation of the project, saying at that time that 'Reuters is lying." The Model 2 – nomenclature used by analysts to designate a low-cost Tesla – was supposed to be a revolutionary low-cost vehicle that used Tesla's latest and greatest manufacturing technology to reduce production costs. Signs now point to a less radical design based on existing platforms. Reuters now reports that something much less ambitious called E41 is planned but claims it is delayed until later this year or early next year. That timing would seem to contradict what Tesla's CFO said (above) in the Q1 earning conference call, though Lars Moravy, VP Vehicle Engineering at Tesla, did mention that the 'ramp maybe -- might be a little slower than we had hoped initially" when referring to the future affordable models. Last week, a Model Y in camo wrap at the Tesla Fremont, Calif. factory sparked speculation that Tesla was about to start production of a new stripped down Model Y. But pushback on social media claimed that it was simply the unannounced Performance version of the Juniper Model Y. And camo-wrapped Model Ys have appeared elsewhere that appear to be the Performance version. That didn't stop speculation that the Fremont images appear to show different proportions than the standard Tesla Model Y, possibly shorter or more compact, which would be in line with a stripped down model. Unsupervised robotaxis will hit roads in Austin in June, Elon Musk said in an interview with CNBC. Unsupervised means the car has no human driver – like Waymo's robotaxi service. 'We have thousands of cars that are being tested,' Musk said, adding that initial deployment will be very small but Musk expects that "we will probably be at 1,000 within a few months" then expand to other cities such as San Francisco and Los Angeles. That event could also host new vehicles. Tesla has already demonstrated the radical-looking Cybercab. And it's probably not a coincidence that Tesla is also scheduled to start production of the new unannounced affordable model in June. That upcoming model is expected to use a mixed-platform approach, combining components from Tesla's next-generation platform and existing Model 3/Y architecture. The new affordable Tesla is expected to be autonomous-capable and FSD compliant.

Tesla shareholders face staggering new hurdle after company enacts controversial policy: 'A formidable barrier'
Tesla raised the bar for shareholders to sue the company board or executives for breach of fiduciary duties. The change took effect May 15 and requires an investor or group of investors to hold 3% of the electric vehicle maker's stock "to institute or maintain a derivative proceeding," CNBC reported. Tesla's market cap is $1.123 trillion, so a plaintiff would have to own shares worth $33.7 billion. "Obviously, for a company of Tesla's size, that would be a formidable barrier to anyone bringing a lawsuit for breach of fiduciary duty," Tulane Law School's Ann Lipton told CNBC in an email. The change was enabled by a Texas law that "allows corporations to limit shareholder lawsuits against insiders for breach of fiduciary duty," the outlet added. With shareholder approval, Tesla moved its incorporation site from Delaware to the Lone Star State in June 2024. An investor who owned nine shares of Tesla stock sued the company in 2018, and CEO Elon Musk's $56 billion compensation package was revoked in January 2024. Musk is by far the richest person on the planet, and his wealth makes him nearly untouchable. He helped to pioneer the EV movement by becoming an early investor in Tesla in 2003, and the company has been known for innovative technology and industry-leading breakthroughs. Recently, however, the South African has drawn criticism for straying into American and European politics, including spending lavishly on the U.S. presidential election campaign of Donald Trump, leading government spending cuts as the head of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency, and supporting the far-right Alternative for Germany party. Activists have protested these actions, and Tesla charging stations, vehicles, and dealerships have been vandalized. Sales have plummeted, and Tesla stock spiraled downward, too, though it has regained much of its value. This upheaval and the larger perception change of Musk from groundbreaker to villain could stifle the uptake of EVs, which is one of the many things necessary to slow the rapid rise of global temperatures caused by the burning of fossil fuels for energy. It would take a massive coalition of shareholders to fight back against this move by Tesla, though companies are generally amenable to public pressure — especially when it comes to consumers' spending power. Tesla, for example, is shifting its focus from EV manufacturing to a robotaxi service and robotics to stabilize its future. Two people hurt following a three-vehicle car crash in Newburyport
Two people were hurt following a three-vehicle car crash in Newburyport. On Saturday, around 4:03 PM, Newburyport Police and Fire were dispatched to the intersection of Route 1 and Pond Street to reports of a multi-vehicle crash. Once on scene, crews found a 2022 Tesla Model 3, a Toyota 4Runner, and a Toyota Corolla involved in a crash. Fire crews used the jaws of life to remove the driver of the Tesla. While doing so, due to the Tesla being an electric vehicle, crews also used an electric vehicle emergency plug to make sure the Tesla wouldn't move or start. In addition to the plug, crews also utilized their electric vehicle app to access vehicle-specific information, which guided their strategy in executing rescue operations. Two people were taken to local hospitals with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Police and Fire crews cleared the scene within two hours of the initial call. 'This was an excellent response from all involved. The quick work of our crews in efficiently utilizing rescue tools ensured that all involved in the crash received the highest quality of care,' said Chief Bradbury. 'As always, I commend the strong teamwork between the Police and Fire Departments, and I thank our mutual aid partners for being ready to support us at any moment.'
