US strikes on Yemen's Hodeida province kill four, leave 13 wounded
Yemen's Huthi rebels on Tuesday said US strikes on the western province of Hodeida killed four people and wounded 13 others, a day after the group said it targeted Israel and US warships.
"Four killed and 13 wounded in a preliminary toll of the victims of the flagrant American aggression," the rebels' health ministry spokesman Anis al-Asbahi said in a post on X.
The Huthis' Al-Masirah TV channel had reported earlier on Tuesday "deaths and wounded in the US enemy's targeting" of the Al-Hawak district in Hodeida.
It added that civil defence teams had rushed to the site and were working on putting out the fires and rescuing any survivors.
An AFP journalist near the site of the strike heard the sound of three violent blasts in succession.
Al-Masirah also reported a US strike on the communications network in the Amran province north of Sanaa, without providing further details.
Rebel-held areas of Yemen have seen near-daily strikes blamed on the United States since Washington launched an air campaign against the Huthis on March 15 to force them to stop threatening vessels in key maritime routes.
Since then, the Huthis have also launched attacks targeting US military ships and Israel, claiming to be acting in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
The rebels began targeting ships transiting the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, as well as Israeli territory, after the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023, pausing the attacks during a January ceasefire.
Israel cut off all supplies to Gaza at the start of March, and resumed its offensive on the Palestinian territory on March 18, ending the short-lived truce.
The new US campaign followed Huthi threats to resume attacks on vessels over Israel's blockade on Gaza.
The Huthi attacks had crippled the vital Red Sea route, which normally carries about 12 percent of world shipping traffic, forcing many companies to make a much longer detour around the tip of southern Africa.

Intel Organization: "Israel" continues to commit brutal genocide, starvation in Gaza with US support
Gaza – Saba: The International Organization for Supporting the Rights of the Palestinian People (Hashed) confirmed on Sunday that while Muslims are celebrating Eid al-Adha, the Israeli enemy forces continue their aggression and commit the most heinous crimes of genocide and brutal massacres against civilians in the Gaza Strip for more than 610 consecutive days, with American support and partnership. The organization said in a statement that American support and partnership in the crimes of genocide against civilians in Gaza was manifested by its use of the veto against a draft resolution in the UN Security Council calling for an end to the genocide and ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid. The organization considered the American veto a green light that gives the Israeli entity the green light to continue committing crimes and grave violations against Palestinian civilians, in addition to continuing American arms exports to Israel and supporting the "American-Israeli" plan to distribute aid as an alternative to the work of international humanitarian organizations. Hashd called on the international community and the signatories to the Genocide Convention and the Geneva Convention to take immediate and urgent measures to halt the crime of genocide, ensure the unconditional flow of urgent humanitarian and medical aid under UN supervision, and abolish the illegal and immoral "American-Israeli" mechanism for distributing aid. It called on the countries of the world to boycott the Israeli entity and impose sanctions on it, including an arms embargo, hold its political and military leaders accountable before international courts, and support the work of the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice. It also called for immediate international protection for the residents of the Gaza Strip through the mechanisms of Chapter VII of the UN Charter and through the "United for Peace" formula to ensure the formation of an international humanitarian coalition and peacekeeping force within the framework of a vision to end the Israeli aggression, ensure the protection of civilians and civilian facilities, and provide humanitarian areas and corridors for the delivery of humanitarian and relief aid. With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has been committing genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 54,880 Palestinian citizens, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 126,227 others. European parliamentarians call for safe passage for Freedom Flotilla to Gaza
Brussels – Saba: A number of European parliamentarians called on Sunday for safe passage for the Freedom Flotilla Coalition ship, which aims to break the blockade on the Gaza Strip and provide humanitarian aid to starving Palestinians under the genocidal crimes committed by the Israeli enemy army. French member of the European Parliament, Rima Hassan, who is on board the ship, posted an open letter on her social media account, signed by more than 200 members of the European Parliament, according to the Palestinian Press Agency (Safa). In the letter, the MPs demanded ensuring the safety of the passengers of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition ship, the Madeleine, which is on its way to deliver aid to Gaza. They demanded ensuring the ship's safe and unhindered passage to Gaza, and allowing humanitarian aid to enter the area immediately. Last Wednesday, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Israeli forces had decided to prevent the Madeleine, a ship that had set sail from Italy in an attempt to break the blockade on the Gaza Strip, from approaching or docking off the coast of the Strip.
