Special reminder: Why Bulls have retired No 14 jersey
After returning to rugby after being diagnosed with a serious heart condition, Hendricks largely revived his career at the Bulls over the last few years, and the Pretoria-based franchise has led a number of special tributes to Hendricks since his death.
One of these includes no longer fielding the No 14 jersey, having chosen to 'retire' the number in honour to Hendricks until the end of the season.
Each jersey worn will also carry photos of Hendricks within the number on the back of the jerseys, with the Bulls hoping to go all the way in the URC in honour of the former winger.
'Many people were shocked and sad when his career was cut short in 2015,' Bulls boss Jake White recently commented as he shared memories of coaching Hendricks.
'When we had the opportunity to get him back on the park, he took that with open arms and made a remarkable use of his second lease in professional rugby. We all witnessed him leave no stone unturned as he inspired his teammates and the South African community through his story of hope and courage.
'It was a privilege and honour to have been his coach, a fantastic role model for the next generation and his appetite for life was infectious. Rugby has lost one of the good ones today.'

My family helps me remember where I've come from and to keep my core values intact, my teammates help me stay disciplined and focused on the bigger picture, and my coaches and friends keep me tethered to real life and put things into perspective. 'The fire in me is fading' – Sundowns forgotten star on career struggles
Mamelodi Sundowns winger Thapelo Maseko has posted about his recent struggles at his club. The 21-year-old star has found it difficult to break into the Downs team since joining from SuperSport United two years ago. He only played a total of 14 league matches in three years for Masandawana and scored just once. His future at the club remains in doubt after he was left out of Mamelodi Sundowns' squad, which played in the FIFA Club World Cup. 'I don't know when it started, but lately it's like the fire in me is fading. I still train like my life depends on it, still push through every tired muscle, mental battle, but inside it feels empty,' Maseko posted on his Instagram page. 'The game that once lit up my soul is now different, heavier, and colder. It's a strange kind of pain, giving everything you have but feeling unseen. You tell yourself to keep going, but each day chips away at you. Your confidence starts to crumble, your joy fades, and the person you used to be feels like a memory you can't reach anymore. 'The hunger, the excitement, and the love for the grind have been slipping away piece by piece, now hope feels like something far off in the distance. 'I'm left wondering if I've ever get to that place again, this is what it's like to lose your spark and the hardest part is still showing up every single day, hoping you'll find it again,' the Sundowns winger said. Despite still needing time to build a well-oiled team, Seema also called for consistency from his side, especially in home matches where they enjoy some of the strongest support in the country.
