Meet the NYC singles looking for the 'right' stuff — and to Make America Hot Again

New York Posta day ago

The hottest pickup line in singles bars today? 'Hi, I'm MAGA.'
No longer is it a liability to be an out-of-the-closet Republican — it's actually a calling card, young singles told The Post.
Comely conservatives are simply looking for a mate to MAGA with — and they're breaking through in big, blue cities, at right-wing ragers, on targeted dating apps and at Trump rallies.

'It's never been a better time to date as a conservative,' crowed CJ Pearson, co-chair of the GOP Youth Advisory Council, who punched back against a January New York magazine piece smearing his diverse DC inauguration party as all-white.
'Being conservative right now is the coolest it's ever been,' added the single DC-based political advisor, who boasted that women want to be with a guy who's a 'provider and who they feel safe around.'
Good luck finding that in a guy 'with pronouns in his bio,' he added.

Red hot and heavy
For MAGA singles looking for love, like Raquel Debono, 'hotness is a bipartisan issue.'
That's why she founded Make America Hot Again, a cheeky movement throwing parties for young conservatives around NYC at hotspots like downtown's Sincerely, Ophelia and Trump Tower.
'No more of these stuffy CPAC vibes,' the 29-year-old said. 'We actually have fun and we're normal.'

With her regular bacchanals that can swell to as many as 300 people, love is definitely in the air.
And apparently in the bathroom stalls.

'There was a couple in the bathroom who were doing something highly inappropriate at my last party,' Debono told The Post about the politically-charged passion at a May bash, which attracted 50 sharp-dressed attendees.

'It was getting hot and heavy in there,' she said. 'At least there was a happy ending somewhere.'
The 29-year-old single lawyer from the West Village is happy to watch love blossom from the sidelines.
'That's why I throw these — I'm trying to find my husband,' Debono said of the parties that have a lopsided 60-40 split in favor of guys heavily representing the 'bro and tech vote.'
'I have met a few lovely young men, but as they say, the coach doesn't play.'
Politically-right prospects
20 Vanessa Simon, a Queens Republican and former city council candidate, told The Post that being a conservative single 'raises your stock' these days.

In the golden age of conservatism, with control of the House, Senate and White House, singles are feeling fancy-free.
'It raises your stock,' Vanessa Simon, a former Queens Republican city council candidate, told The Post about dating as a female conservative in NYC. 'It's actually a conversation starter — definitely not a deal-breaker.'
The 30-something credited the 'silent majority' with the ease of meeting MAGA-adjacent men in the city, even when she drops the Republican-bomb into conversation: 'I've yet to have a guy walk away.
'It's a really good time for conservatives to date.'

20 When it comes to finding single allies, conservative Toria Brooke basically feels it 'really matters' to be in the right place at the right time.
'It really matters putting yourself in a place geographically' that's going to yield the 'highest chance of meeting like-minded people,' said 32-year-old Toria Brooke, a conservative commentator and reporter who lives outside of Nashville.

Back when she worked in NYC, the guys she met mostly leaned left 'unless they were in finance.'
Nashville, with its healthy share of 'bigger, bearded, rugged men' — a breath of fresh air from the 'yuppie, feminine' dudes proliferating in other cities — was a big draw.
20 Toria Brooke sees a huge — refreshing — difference between NYC and Nashville.
She cites 'patriotism' as being hot — prevalent at the fundraisers and movie premieres at Mar-a-Lago she attends — though she's not found lasting love, yet.

'I've made some great connections, but it's just the luck of the draw.'
'We can't give up'

But don't count out the Big Apple, said singles.
'There are plenty of options in New York — if you know where to look,' claimed Brent Morden, vice president of the New York Young Republican Club, whose wild December gala made Post headlines.
Date Right Stuff, an app for singles with shared values, has seen 'tens of thousands of downloads right after the election,' according to 40-year-old co-founder Dan Huff.
The 'big bump' adds to the app's some 400,000 total downloads as the team focuses on New York with sought-after events that have drawn 'hundreds of attendees and generated strong buzz.'
20 The Date Right Stuff party attracted loads of well-dressed singles on Election Night.

'There's a spark in New York now, a reawakening,' added Huff, a former lawyer in the Trump White House who said the app boasts at least 75 marriages.
'Our main focus is to build critical masses in these Democratic cities to make sure these people have somewhere to go,' added Micaela Bishop, the app's 29-year-old New York-based chief growth officer.

20 Gianna Prignano said the number of Republican men in NYC is in women's favor.

'It's probably easier for a woman to find a conservative guy than it is reversed,' asserted New York Young Republican Club recruitment chair Gianna Prignano.
However, the 25-year-old Westchester native admitted the climate is better now than it was four years ago.
'I feel like it's at the beginning of us turning around. We can't give up on New York.'

'In such high demand'
MAGA men insist the pendulum has already swung back in favor of 'traditionalism.'
Trad wife is in and 'girlboss is out,' asserted the 22-year-old Pearson, adding that women are 'over it' when it comes to 'beta male cucks.'
'Right now, liberal women are super into conservative men,' he said. 'It feels a little rebellious.'
Pearson said he's turned the heads of women in bars when he evangelizes about the issues he holds dear, like not splitting the bill anymore.
'Conservative men are in such high demand,' adding that women are done 'splitting the bill or Venmo-ing someone for a $5 cup of coffee.'
'Gen Z is yearning for a return to tradition,' asserted Pearson, 'and we're actively bringing that about.'
'If I can spread the good word and bring them over to our side, I've done my duty.'
For Nashville's Toria Brooke, it's self-defeating to soften values for the sake of a potential romance that's doomed to fail along political divides.
'You save yourself a lot of trouble by trying to fit a square peg in a round hole,' she lamented.
'There's nothing better than a conservative woman,' Pearson said, specifically someone who knows she doesn't 'need' a guy, but wants a man 'being a man.'
20 Toria Brooke shuns 'trying to fit a square peg in a round hole,' she told The Post.
He believes the concepts of 'emasculation' and the 'obsession over toxic masculinity' are finally being put out to pasture.
'Conservatives have the most fun,' he said. 'You can be unfiltered and not worry about getting cancelled or losing your livelihood.'
As Debono said in her video: 'Who would disagree with a hotter America? Well, liberals would. That's who.'
'The best is yet to come'
20 Isabella DeLuca slaps down stereotypes and assumptions about conservatives.
Stephen Yang
For Isabella DeLuca, the narrative that conservatives are 'close-minded, xenophobic and bigoted couldn't be further from the truth.'
The 25-year-old conservative, who spoke openly about her arrest and pardon for her two-minute entry into the Capitol on January 6, thought she would have been married 'with at least a kid or two by now,' like her mom was at her age.
'Friends my age feel behind,' said the Long Islander, who knows 'getting married and having a family' would 'fulfill' her.
'I don't want to spend the duration of my 20s partying and quote-unquote living my life to come into my 30s and realize I made a mistake.'
20 Long Island resident DeLuca says she would be 'fulfilled' starting a family.
Stephen Yang
For the single Morden, thinking of the New York Young Republican Club's upcoming 'Sail Away Summer Soiree' evokes the president's favorite mantra, 'The best is yet to come.'
'I haven't found love yet,' said the New Yorker, 'but I'm very optimistic for myself.'

What we know about reports Nancy Mace ordered staffers to create burner accounts to promote her online.

In late May 2025, a rumor spread online that U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, a Republican from South Carolina, ordered her staffers to create burner accounts on social media to promote her. (A burner account is a social media account created "for the purpose of remaining anonymous.") Claims spread on X, Facebook, Bluesky and Reddit. While some posts presented the claim as an allegation, others presented it as fact. The rumor appeared to originate with reporting from Wired, a reputable tech magazine, which ran a story on May 28 titled, "Nancy Mace's Former Staff Claim She Had Them Create Burner Accounts to Promote Her." The keyword here is claim: The Wired story does not present the statement that Mace ordered her staffers to create burner accounts as 100% factual, instead treating it as an allegation made by anonymous former staff members. Similarly, Snopes cannot put a fact-check rating on this story because there is not enough verifiable public evidence definitively proving or disproving the claim. With that said, here is what we do know about the allegations. Wired's story, written by senior politics writer Jake Lahut, relies on anonymous sources identified as former Mace staffers. These sources requested anonymity "because they fear reprisal from their former boss," per Lahut's article. Snopes could not, as of this writing, independently verify the legitimacy of Lahut's sources; Lahut said via a polite email that he could not make any promises about helping Snopes with its verification process in the immediate future due to his own workload. Here are the claims as presented in the Wired story: A principal—and unusual—use to which Mace put her skills, according to former staffers, was setting up burner accounts on a variety of social media platforms to monitor what people were saying about her and bolster her image. They also claim she requested that staffers make their own burner accounts to defend her online. "We had to make multiple accounts, burner accounts, and go and reply to comments, saying things that weren't true—even Reddit forums," a former staffer says. "We were congressional staff, and there were actual things we could be doing to help the constituents." Mace's communications director, Sydney Long, disputed the allegations. "Nancy Mace's Communications Director here, can confidently say I've never been asked to make a burner account," Long wrote in a May 28 X post. "This isn't the hit y'all think it is." In an email to Snopes, Long wrote, "I would give you an additional comment but we're too busy creating burner accounts, according to former staff. (sarcasm)." "As Congresswoman Mace's Communications Director, I can say with complete confidence: I've never been asked to create a burner account, and the suggestion is laughable," Long's email continued. Long did not provide Mace's reaction to the story, but Mace appeared to acknowledge the Wired story in a May 29 X post, in which she said: "Comment your burner account below." One popular post on Facebook claimed that Mace's former staff "said under oath" they had to create burner accounts to promote Mace. That's a misunderstanding of Wired's reporting, which instead described an April 28 deposition of a former consultant for Mace, Wesley Donehue, who reportedly said under oath that Mace sets up her own burner accounts and bots on social media. The deposition makes no mention of Mace ordering staff to set up burner accounts or bots. As for the legitimacy of the deposition in question: While it does not seem to appear in Charleston's court case search system, a document available in the system mentions the deposition on Page 7, suggesting it is legitimate. Lawyers named in the deposition did not immediately return a request to verify its authenticity. Here is the relevant portion of Donehue's statement on Page 10 — or Page 40, if you're using the page numbers of the original document instead of the PDF — first published by conservative South Carolina news outlet FITSNews on May 21 (emphasis ours): Nancy Mace is quite the -- when I use the word "nerd" or "geek," it's always favorable, but a computer nerd or a computer geek. She programs her own bots, she sets up Twitter burner accounts. This is kind of a thing she does. She sits all night on the couch and programs bots, because she's very, very computer savvy. She controls her own voter database, she programs a lot of her own website, she programs Facebook bots and Instagram bots and Twitter bots. It's what she does for fun. Lawyers representing Mace's former fiance, Patrick Bryant, deposed Donehue after South Carolina law enforcement reportedly interviewed him in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation into sexual assault allegations made by Mace against Bryant. (Bryant has repeatedly denied these allegations.) While Donehue publicly disparaged Mace and said that he fired her as a client, FITSNews reported that Donehue initially refused to give a statement. Snopes previously examined Mace's claim she was physically accosted by a man who shook her hand and a rumor that she vandalized her own home. Bryant, Patrick. Community members, politicians react to approval of Central Park renovation designs

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ)– If you've been to any recent Johnstown City Council meetings or spoken with community members it's clear that there is a divide on where people stand regarding the Central Park renovation project. 'If they're going to listen to the people directly, then I'm for it, but if it's just wham bam thank you ma'am just out the air, then no,' Johnstown resident Tereah Henderson said. Several people took advantage of the good weather on Friday morning to check out the farmer's market around Central Park. Some say that they hope a revitalized park will help create new events like it in the future. Johnstown companies awarded $256 million in military defense contracts 'I mean there's businesses down here and if they're still going to do a lot of these events close by, I don't see why it would hurt,' Johnstown Resident Vicky Cobaugh said. The City Council voted on Wednesday to approve the final plans for the project. The project uses funds from the American Rescue Plan Act to cover the cost of the $6 to $8 million renovation. More than one and a half million has already been spent in the design phase, and as for the rest of the money designated for the project, the city either has to use it or lose it. Using funds from the American rescue Plan Act has come under scrutiny throughout the discussions of the project, even from State Representative Frank Burns. 'We have a police station that is falling apart, and it needs attention quickly,' Burns said. Now whether that's a new police station, or building, building a new one, renovating the one that's already there, all that matters is that we have a suitable place for our police officers to work out of and protect the public. They could have used that money to hire more police officers. I've been touting that for 3 years now. That they should use this money to hire more officers but they chose the park as their top priority. ' 'Truthfully, I told them on Wednesday night to give the money back,' Republican Candidate for Mayor John Debartola said. Debartola said that he believes the project will devastate downtown businesses and is upset that it will remove some landmarks like the Pasquerilla Fountain. The plans also call for a new and expanded gazebo and a new Walk of Honor. Instead, Debartola said he would rather see repairs to the current design. 'Take a look at this park when you do a video pan, it needs improvements, it doesn't need eight million dollars,' Debartola said. 'It doesn't need two million spent on plans to friends and family.' Sen. Joni Ernst sparks crowd's anger with ‘we all are going to die' response to Medicaid cut questions

Republican Sen. Joni Ernst was met with shouts and groans when she said 'we all are going to die' as she addressed potential changes to Medicaid eligibility at a town hall in north-central Iowa on Friday. She had been consistent in her message throughout the contentious forum at a high school in Parkersburg, Iowa, as she defended the tax and immigration package that has passed the House and is now under consideration in the Senate. Facing several constituents concerned about cuts to Medicaid, she defended the $700 billion in reduced spending, saying it would keep immigrants in the U.S. illegally and those who have access to insurance through their employers off the rolls. Advertisement Sen. Joni Ernst was met with shouts and groans when she said 'we all are going to die' when citing the potential changes that could be made to Medicaid eligibility at an Iowa town hall Friday. IB Photography – Then someone in the crowd yelled that people will die without coverage. 'People are not … well, we all are going to die,' Ernst said, drawing groans. Advertisement 'So, for heaven's sakes. For heaven's sakes, folks.' 'What you don't want to do is listen to me when I say that we are going to focus on those that are most vulnerable,' Ernst went on. 'Those that meet the eligibility requirements for Medicaid we will protect.' House Republicans last week muscled through the massive spending and tax cut package, dubbed 'the big, beautiful bill' at the urging of President Donald Trump, by a single vote. Advertisement Ernst had the forum held at a high school in Parkersburg, Iowa, while she also defended the tax and immigration bill that had passed the House and is now under consideration in the Senate. WAAY 31 News It now moves to the Senate. Ernst made clear Friday that any measure that emerges from the Senate will look different from the House version. Republicans have defended the new work requirements for able-bodied adults without dependents and stepped up eligibility verification, saying the generated savings will sustain the program for vulnerable populations. Advertisement Democrats warn that millions of Americans will lose coverage. A preliminary estimate from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said the proposals would reduce the number of people with health care by 8.6 million over the decade. Video of Ernst's comment started making the rounds among Democrat elected officials and candidates. Ernst is up for reelection in 2026. 'This morning, Joni Ernst said the quiet part out loud:' Republicans do not care 'about whether their own constituents live or die as long as the richest few get richer,' said Ken Martin, chair of the Democratic National Committee, in a statement.
