Our Yorkshire Farm's Reuben Owen, 21, forced to call for rescue after nightmare driving accident leaves him stranded in 'deadly' bog

Reuben Owen, 21, was forced to call for rescue after a nightmare driving accident left him stranded in a 'deadly' bog.
The second series of Reuben's show Reuben Owen: Life In The Dales, about his attempt to grow a machinery business with friends, is currently airing on Channel 5.
It is a spin-off from Our Yorkshire Farm, the beloved reality show that introduced us to the Owen family and followed their life on their farm in the Yorkshire Dales from 2018 to 2022.
And it comes hot on the heels of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, which sees parents Amanda and Clive, who split in 2022, attempt to renovate a nearby farmhouse while co-parenting their nine children.
But their second eldest child Reuben found himself in major difficulty in the latest episode of his own programme.

But elsewhere in the episode, Reuben and his gang, along with his 13-year-old brother Sid, also took his new three-tonne 4x4 cruiser out for a spin
The instalment mainly focussed on his preparations for the Christmas season, delivering a massive tree to the local town for the lights switch-on event.
But elsewhere in the episode, Reuben and his gang, along with his 13-year-old brother Sid, also took his new three-tonne 4x4 cruiser out for a spin.
He was warned it might not be a good plan to drive the large vehicle cross-country, across the family's 2,000-acre Ravenseat Farm in the Swaledale valley of Yorkshire.
Reuben, though, maintained he thought the test drive would be fine: 'What the hell is going to happen?'
The young farmer was soon proven wrong, as the vehicle sank into a bog - which the programme's voiceover added had been 'the demise of many a poor sheep'.
He said, 'I just felt us go very low, very fast!', before trying to drive the car out of the muddy ground - to no avail: 'Oh dear, that is not ideal.'
Laughing at the blunder, the team then tried to push and shove the car out of its stuck position - but that did not work either.
Reuben was eventually forced to resort to calling his younger brother Miles for 'salvation': 'We are stuck - would you come and rescue me please?'

With a collective effort, the team eventually managed to free the vehicle.
At the end of the episode, he reflected on how far he had come with his machinery business: 'This year brings us to the fourth year in business and it's been great fun.
'Miles has come up a lot and hopefully his role will be even bigger next year and Sid is doing what he can.
'I never thought I'd end up with my mates and brothers working for me.'
Reuben's own error with the vehicle comes after another of his team similarly got into trouble on the roads.
A recent instalment of his show saw the gang filling in some potholes on a private road to his parents' farm.
The 21-year-old said: 'It's quite nice to be doing jobs for your family. You tend to put your own jobs off and I have been putting this job off for ages.
'But mum has finally given me enough stick that today, we are going to tackle it.'
The crew started work using Reuben's brand-new, 26-tonne loading shovel - but trouble soon started when his farmhand pal Capper got the equipment stuck in the mud
The crew started the work using Reuben's brand-new, 26-tonne loading shovel, which his farmhand pal Capper took for a spin on some grassy ground.
But trouble soon started when Capper got the equipment stuck in the mud.
'It's just bad, isn't it?', Reuben said, as his friend explained how the error happened: 'I do apologise Reuben. So, yeah, I parked it there [on the grass], thinking [the ground] was hard.
'It looked hard. But then it sunk and got more stuck and more stuck and more stuck. I'm just going to fill in my P45 now, while I'm on it. Today is not my day.'
As Capper anxiously rubbed his face, the crew tried to come up with ideas as to how to resolve it.
Reuben said sharply: 'What did I say before you parked it there?'
His friend replied: 'Not on the grass. I'm a k***head. Employee of the month it is. I don't know whether to laugh or cry or both.'
As his crew looked on in apprehension, Reuben tried to get the machinery unstuck - but to no avail.
To make matters worse, Amanda soon arrived, with her other two sons Miles and Sid - so there was no concealing the stuck machine and churned-up ground.
'Does this alter the timeframe for me getting my road mended?', she joked.
She continued: 'Well, I've just come down to see how Reuben is coming on with mending my road but he seems to have not mended the road and he also seems to be wrecking the field.
'And even better, it's not my field, it's my next door neighbour's, so it looks like things aren't going to plan and actually looks like a bit of a disaster at the moment.
'Look at Reuben's little face - even he is completely stumped as to what to do.'
His co-worker Sonny agreed: 'I've never seen Reuben so disappointed. He's a bit upset but we'll get it out.'
Leaping into action, Reuben soon came up with a plan to resolve the issue - while Capper headed down to talk to the neighbours.
Soon able to make jokes about it, Reuben laughed: 'You know when you just feel like you shouldn't have got out of bed this morning?'
Amanda replied: 'I'll tell you something - your dad's going to kill you.'
But things started looking up when Reuben decided to use a two-tonne, 60-year-old tractor, known as the Major, to dislodge the machinery.
Though the strain on the tractor was visible, the shovel soon started to come unstuck.
Pleasantly surprised, Amanda said: 'I'm impressed. I didn't think it'd do that.
'I'm proud of them. And to be quite honest with you, Reuben does seem to enjoy a bit of a challenge.
'He likes problem solving and anything that involves him getting the old tractor out and making bad things go good.'
She finished: 'I'm not thrilled about it and it looks like I'm going to have to wait a little bit longer to get my road mended but good old Reuben.'

Love Island star sparks concern with his appearance after shock betrayal – did you spot it?

A LOVE Islander sparked concern among fans with his appearance after his shock villa betrayal. Harry rattled fans of the ITV2 dating series after his controversial antics in the Love Island villa less than three days into the series. 3 But it seemed that he could have rattled himself after fans were left convinced he'd been crying after his bed-swapping antics were exposed. In the episode, Harry could be seen cuddled up with Shakira in bed but soon attempted to sneak away as he headed to the Hideaway with Helena. They then got very cosy as they kissed and cuddled the night away - with some fans even convinced they had sex. But when Harry was forced to speak to Sharkia about his antics, many fans thought he appeared as though he had been left in tears. Whilst he kept his eyed hidden by sunglasses during the chat whilst in the garden, when he was in the beach hut, he appeared to be sporting very red eyes. It was a stark resemblance to someone who could have just been crying. Writing online, one fan said: "Harry looks like he's been crying lol. I'd be crying if I lost Shakira too." A third added: "Why's Harry crying?" As a fourth wrote: "Harry looks like he's been crying lol. I'd be crying if I lost Shakira too." Watch the moment Love Island stars strip off and jump into bed after ditching their partners for the Hideaway In shock scenes tonight blonde air hostess Helena Ford, 29, and semi-pro footballer Harry Cooksley, 30, snuck off for some alone time - leaving their partners reeling. The duo were seen planning their rendezvous earlier in the evening and Harry is seen telling Helena to tap his foot on the way out of the bedroom. A source previously told The Sun: 'This is the fastest sleepover in the Hideaway in Love Island's twelve series history - and what a gorgeous pair to do so. 'In the past, producers had to invite Islanders to use the breakout bedroom which meant the love nest was generally not used until couples became more established. 'But producers have changed the rules of the breakout bedroom so it can be used at any time, without an invite. 'It means Helena and Harry could take advantage of the 'no invite needed' and explore their connection. 'The scenes will play out later this week, but bosses are unlikely to show anything too naughty, as is the show's usual approach.' 3

Warhammer maker Games Workshop to reward staff with £20MILLION payout

Games Workshop is handing its employees £20million following another bumper year for the beloved tabletop games maker. The Warhammer creator, which has struck a deal to have its creations star in potential TV and film blockbusters for Amazon, said the cash payments would be given on 'an equal basis' to every staff member. Games Workshop's shares have soared in recent years and it joined the UK's leading FTSE 100 stock market index for the first time last December. The £20million payout represents an increase on the £18million awarded last year and £11million the year before that. It comes as Games Workshop forecast sales to soar to at least £560million for the year ending 1 June, up from £494.7million in the previous 12 months. British actor and Superman star Henry Cavill, a self-declared lifelong fan of the figures, will star in and produce a Warhammer 40,000 series with Amazon Prime and Games Workshop. Last December, Cavill posted on Instagram: 'To celebrate some Warhammer news, I decided to make a pilgrimage to the very first place I bought Warhammer models over 30 years Little Shop, on my home island of Jersey! 'My incredible team and I, alongside the brilliant minds at Games Workshop, have been working away in concept rooms, breaking down approaches to the enormity and magnificence of the Warhammer world. 'Together, we've been sifting through the plethora of incredible characters and poring over old tomes and texts. 'Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place to start our Universe, which has been agreed upon by those up on high at both Amazon and Games Workshop. That starting place shall, for now, remain a secret.' Games Workshop said today that it expects to achieve record licensing sales of about £50million, although the company does not envision repeating that figure in the next financial year. Alongside this, the business believes its core operating profits and pre-tax profits will total no less than £210million and £255million, respectively. Two months ago, Games Workshop upgraded its earnings forecast thanks to strong trading across licensing and its core operations. This followed the firm's best-ever first-half result, with sales buoyed by record retail sales in the UK, North America and Continental Europe. Revenues were further boosted by the release of video game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, which sold two million copies on the opening day of its launch and five million by the end of November. During the half-year period, Games Workshop agreed 'creative guidelines' with Amazon to adapt Warhammer 40,000 into films and television shows. In addition, the company entered the blue-chip FTSE 100 after enjoying nearly a decade of consistent growth under its chief executive, Kevin Rountree. During his tenure, Games Workshop has improved its relationship with fans and introduced games with more simplified rules, including Blood Bowl, a parody of American football. Its revenues benefited considerably from the Covid-19 pandemic, when consumers sought new indoor hobbies to occupy their time. Although lockdown curbs eventually ended, the firm's trade has continued expanding, and its market value now stands at almost £5billion. Russ Mould, investment director at AJ Bell, said: 'Games Workshop has a rock-solid core business, underpinned by an army of fans emerged in its fantasy worlds who collect miniature figures and play its board games. 'This success has enabled the company to build a rich library of intellectual property that is now the platform for additional revenue generation. 'Licencing the rights to certain brands and characters is easy money, but Games Workshop is fiercely protective of its assets and won't let anyone come along and milk them.' Despite the optimistic forecasts, Games Workshop shares were 4.5 per cent lower at 15,150p on Friday morning, making them the Footsie's biggest faller.

Love Island fans convinced pair had SEX just three days into show as they sneak to hideaway

LOVE Island fans are convinced Harry and Helena had sex just three days into the show. The Sun revealed this week that air hostess Helena, 29, and semi-pro footballer Harry, 30, spent the night together in the hidden suite on Monday. 4 4 And on tonight's show, the pair sneaked away to the Hideaway for some alone time and enjoyed multiple kisses. They struggled to keep their hands off each other and Harry then pulled the covers over their heads. The following morning, Harry and Helena told the rest of the Islanders that they just had a kiss and a cuddle. But viewers watching at home think the pair got up to a lot more than that. One wrote: "Having sex on international tv on day three???" The Sun have reached out to ITV for comment. On last night's show, Shakira, who is coupled up with Harry, visited the Hideaway with Blu, who is with Alima. Watch the awkward moment Love Island stars sneak out of the bedroom for steamy night in the Hideaway - leaving partners fuming The pair shocked fans as they shared a kiss just minutes into entering the cosy private area. Tonight Harry found out about their snog from fellow Islander Dejon, leaving him gobsmacked. Harry then suggested to Helena that they sneak off to the Hideaway in the middle of the night. But they were rumbled after their fellow Islanders spotted them running out of the bedroom together. A source said: 'This is the fastest sleepover in the Hideaway in Love Island's twelve series history - and what a gorgeous pair to do so. Helena, who is pals with Piers Morgan's son Spencer and Gary Lineker's son George on the outside, had fans in stitches on Monday night's launch when she described her type as a 'four out of ten that is funny.' Harry, who is a commodities trader, has been described as The Surrey Zidane by fans of his team, Farnham Town. He's scored with Helena after his original coupling, Sophie Lee left the villa as part of a show twist. 4
