Amitabh Bachchan is in 'deep grief and pain' as he mourns a national tragedy as well as a personal loss. The veteran actor took to his blog in the wee hours of the morning and expressed his grief over the loss of lives in the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. He also revealed that a close friend of the Bachchan family lost her son in a separate incident. While Amitabh Bachchan didn't take any names, many believe he was talking about Sunjay Kapur.
Amitabh Bachchan wrote, 'Most pained and filled with immense remorse on the Air India crash .. empathy and support for the lives lost of our people, and across all nations and communities .. May grief transform into solidarity in honouring lost lives .. Through transparent investigation, let there be sustained remembrance .. and resilience .. for meaningful action and prompt lessons .. and for the healing of all .."
He also wrote, 'And the morning today has been filled with another grief for me and the family .. a most dear friend lost her Son .. young energetic .. and so sudden .. the pain and the grief for our friend and us is unimaginable .. and so difficult to have the belief that it has occurred .. All that one can do is PRAYER and to stand to give strength to the near and dear to bear the loss.
Amitabh Bachchan also shared an image of Lord Hanuman that read, 'Jai Shree Ram." He also shared the image on Twitter, now known as X. Previously, he posted on the site, 'Oh God! Oh God! Oh God! Stunned! Numb! God's grace! Prayers from the heart!"

For the unversed, on June 12, London-bound Air India Flight 171 crashed during take-off from Ahmedabad, killing 241 people on board, including passengers and crew members. There was only one survivor. A few people also died in the doctors' hostel where the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft crashed near the Ahmedabad airport.
As for the demise of Amitabh Bachchan's family friend, while the actor didn't take any names, he was likely talking about Sunjay Kapur. However, there is no official confirmation on this yet. Sunjay Kapur, a prominent Indian industrialist and ex-husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, passed away on Thursday in the UK. He was 53. He reportedly suffered a heart attack while playing polo.
