Pixel 10 Pro (Jade) and Pixel 10 Pro XL (Moonstone)
Pixel 10 Pro is equipped with a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display, while Pixel 10 Pro XL gets a 6.8-inch diagonal. Pixel 10 Pro gets a 1,280 x 2,856px resolution while the 10 Pro XL comes with a 1,344 x 2,992px resolution. Both panels also offer a 1-120Hz refresh rate. The maximum local screen brightness is 3,300 nits, and you also get Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. You also get the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner embedded in the screen.

The more important new addition is the Tensor G5 chipset. It's the first Google chipset fabbed by TSMC (instead of Samsung), and it claims to bring improved efficiency that should finally see Pixels on an even playing field with the Snapdragon flagship Android phones.
Tensor G5 features an updated CPU, which is 34% faster than the Tensor G4. The new chip is also the first to run Google's newest Gemini Nano model, and it is paired with the Titan M2 security chip. The Pixel 10 Pro series comes with 16GB RAM as standard.
But Pixels are known for their cameras and the new Pixel 10 Pro series is offering some iterative updates. The 50MP main (1/1.3" sensor) and 48MP ultrawide (1/2.55" sensor) modules from last year are here again and they are joined by an all-new 48MP telephoto (1/2.55") lens. The new telephoto offers 5x optical zoom and up to 100x hybrid zoom. You can also record videos at up to 8K resolution and 30fps.
Pixel 10 Pro features a 4,870 mAh battery with 30W charging, while the 10 Pro XL boasts a 5,200 mAh cell with 45W speeds. But that's not all, the new Pixel also supports Qi 2 wireless charging with 15W speeds on the Pixel 10 Pro and 25W on the Pixel 10 Pro XL. That's all, thanks to Pixelsnap, which is Google's take on MagSafe.
On the software side, the Pixel 10 series comes with Android 16 and Google's new Material 3 Expressive UI. That's backed by 7 years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates.
Both new Pixels are IP68 rated, and come with Wi-Fi 7, Ultra-Wideband and Bluetooth 6 connectivity.
Pixel 10 Pro with 128GB storage starts at $999/€1,099/£999/₹109,999.
Pixel 10 Pro XL with 256GB will start at $1,199/€1,299/£1,199/₹124,999.
Pre-orders start today with deliveries scheduled for August 28.

Google will finally allow you to change the icon shapes on Pixel's home screen. Here's what you need to know.
Today, Google launched the Pixel 10, but that's far from everything new from the company. Along with the device premiere, we've also got the latest Android Canary update, which brings a long-awaited icon personalization ability for the home screen of Pixel devices. The August 2025 Android Canary update adds the ability to customize the shapes of the icons on the home screen. Spotted by Android Authority, the customization option allows you to choose one of five preset shapes. Once you open the Wallpaper & Style app, you will notice that the Icons menu has changed. It now allows you to enable icon theming and switch the default circle-shaped icons to something else. The other options are a square, four-sided cookie, a seven-sided cookie, and an arch. The new icon shapes on Android | Image credit — Mishaal Rahman, Android Authority Changing the icon shapes on Android isn't a radically new idea. It was an option on the Pixel Launcher with Android 12, but it was later removed. The change first surfaced in an early beta version of Android 16 last year. In March, a more robust version of it was spotted in the code of the Android 16 Beta 3 release. Then, a menu with six shapes was uncovered. Those were the same five shapes we're getting in the current Canary update, and an extra complex clover option, which is now design changes might seem innocuous at first, but they're quite significant. Icon shapes could easily clash with the contents of some icons, which might be the reason why one of the shapes we've seen earlier is now gone. That's also an easy way to change the appearance of a home screen drastically. Android has always been famous for providing great customization options. Devices like the Pixel 10 and Galaxy S25 Ultra allow much easier customization than the iOS-powered iPhone 16. That's why all finalists in our home screen contest are from Android phones. I love having the opportunity to customize my devices, but I rarely do it. Whenever I've tried changing my home screen too much, I end up with a barely usable setup and shortly return to the default. That's why such a change is not a deal breaker for me, but I appreciate it.

Sony may change the Xperia design for the first time in years. Here's why it might not matter.
Sony Xperia 10 VI | Image credit — PhoneArena Sony is famously conservative with its smartphone design, and its devices have been looking largely the same for years. That may be about to change as the company is likely to redesign its upcoming mid-range smartphone, the Xperia 10 VII. A listing by a case maker on the Japanese Amazon shows the Xperia 10 VII with a fresh new look. The changes aren't anything drastic, but Sony may rearrange the cameras on the back. So, instead of the vertical double camera, the Xperia 10 VII may feature a horizontal camera. While that might not sound radical, it could be a significant step for Sony, considering that the previous five generations of the Xperia 10 are barely distinguishable from each other. However, the original Xperia 10 was the last Sony device with horizontal cameras, so the change could be seen as Sony going back to the roots of the purists who are worried about the change can remain calm because the front of the device in the images appears unchanged. That shouldn't be a surprise, as most smartphones look the same from the front, save for the slimmer bezels. That's true for the iPhone 16, the Galaxy S25, and the Pixel 10 phones, the front sides of which look like their predecessors'. We know little else about the Sony Xperia 10 VII. The device is already late, as its predecessor was released in June last year. So far, we've only seen a database listing suggesting the premiere of the device will be in October.I am glad that Sony hasn't completely ditched its smartphones after it was forced to suspend the sales of the Xperia 1 VII. I don't know if such a minor redesign could help it overcome its issues, but I'll be excited for the company to return to at least some of its former glory. Good news everyone! Over the past year we've been working on an exciting passion project of ours and we're thrilled to announce it will be ready to release in just a few short months.
