B&M shoppers filling baskets with new flavour of Lindt chocolate bars scanning for just 50p

The Sun28-04-2025

CHOCOLATE fans are buzzing after spotting Lindt chocolate bars in B&M – and they're scanning for just 50p each.
The new flavour causing all the excitement is Cookies & Cream — and shoppers can't get enough.
The sweet deal was shared on Facebook, where one user posted: 'Cookies & Cream Lindt Chocolate Bars spotted at B&M Stores 50p each!'
The post quickly racked up comments, with excited shoppers tagging friends to spread the news.
One fan said: 'I love cookies and cream,' while another added: 'Ooo I like Lindt xxx.'
Many vowed to head straight to their nearest B&M to stock up while they could.
At just 50p a bar, it's no surprise shoppers are filling their baskets fast.
Lindt's reputation for smooth, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate has long made it a fan favourite and this new flavour is no exception.
It's not the first time Lindt lovers have scored a bargain.
Amazon recently slashed the price of Lindt's Lindor Assorted Easter Egg Gift Set from £13 to just £7.68 – more than £5 cheaper than Sainsbury's.
Savvy shoppers didn't waste any time snapping up the deal, with one happy customer saying: 'These were excellent, and two of us ate and enjoyed them until we finished the box.
"Highly recommended.'
In another treat for choc fans, Amazon has also cut the price of giant 1kg bags of Lindt truffles.
The bags, packed with around 80 individually wrapped truffles, have dropped from £30 to £21.38, just in time for Easter.
Perfect for parties, egg hunts, or a cheeky treat for yourself, the bargain bags have been flying off the shelves.
One shopper said: 'Love these. Such smooth and delicious chocolate at a great price.'
Meanwhile, Lindt has made an even bigger splash with the opening of a huge new flagship store in London.
Located opposite Piccadilly Circus tube station, the store boasts the UK's biggest pick 'n' mix station and is packed with luxury chocolate treats.
Shoppers can even try Dubai -style chocolate bars for £10 and grab a Lindt-flavoured coffee or ice cream from the café counter.
How to save money on chocolate
We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs...
Go own brand - if you're not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you'll save by going for the supermarket's own brand bars.
Shop around - if you've spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it's cheaper elsewhere.
Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you're getting the best deal.
Look out for yellow stickers - supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they've been reduced.
They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.
Buy bigger bars - most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.
So if you've got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.

This sparkly ceiling light is flying off the virtual shelves, dubbed 'selling fast' and accumulating a stellar 4.5 out of 5 rating from enthusiastic reviewers who love its opulent look. The description on Dunelm's site for the in-demand Kleio semi-flush dimmable light fitting doesn't skimp on elegance: "The Kleio semi-flush dimmable light fitting boasts a very classy design. "Featuring three curved sculpted arms with a beautiful glass jewel beads design." The dimensions detailed are H 14cm x Dia 28.5cm. Alternatively, shoppers who are fans of the distinct shiny decor, Amazon is offering a 6-Lights Gold Ceiling Light Chandelier for £18.68 (prices correct at the time of writing). Debenhams sells a similar light to Amazon's gold version, the Geoco modern chandelier is reduced to £35.46. Those who've bought the Dunelm one for their home are showering it with compliments for its glitzy appeal. A thrilled customer said: "Absolutely love this light. Throws out so much light. Wanted a small light fitting and this fit the bill perfectly." Another shopper said: "Arrived very well packed and once up looks stunning. Bulbs are ordered separately and are nice and bright. Really pleased with this pretty item." One customer did say it wasn't the size they thought it would be: "Modern twist on a classic style. A very dainty, pretty light fitting. Smaller than I thought, but I've kept it as I love it so much.", reports the Liverpool Echo. "Absolutely stunning they look more expensive than they are, nice and bright I brought two of these for hallway." However, a common point of contention among reviews is the unexpected compact size of the light, hence buyers should pay heed to the given dimensions.

Sainsbury's announces huge change to shelves that customers may notice soon

Co-op are also due to implement the change by next year. Sainsbury's supermarkets have announced a major change that shoppers may soon notice on store shelves. The classic British supermarket has become the latest grocer to trial electronic shelf-edge labels (ESLs) in an aim to modernise its stores and improve operational efficiency. ESLs offer retailers the opportunity to update their prices in real time, which aims to reduce pricing errors and better manage promotional offers. For those who work in supermarkets, it will also save time, as paper labels will no longer need to be manually changed by staff. ‌ Speaking to the Grocer, a Sainsbury's spokesperson said that the store was trialling electronic shelf-edge labels in a small number of stores. However, they refused to share any further details on the pilot, which is being monitored for both customer experience and back-end efficiency gains. ‌ It has not yet been confirmed exactly which or how many stores will be taking place in the ESL trial, but Sainsbury's customers may soon notice the new digital labels while browsing the supermarket. The retailer began trialling the new electronic labels across three of its larger-format stores last year, including in its 'Future Store' in Witney, Oxfordshire, which was refitted in November 2023, the Express reports. The change comes as part of Sainsbury's 'Future Store' programme, which aims to modernise the supermarket's store operations and improve customer experience using digital tools. Sainsbury's is testing ESLs across a variety of its product categories, including beers, wines & spirits, health products and general merchandise, according to industry sources. ‌ The trials are said to be testing both the hardware used to display prices as well as evaluating the potential labour savings that could come from automated pricing updates. The retailer follows a number of other major UK supermarkets that have made the move towards using electronic labels in stores. Co-op recently also announced plans to add electronic labels to all of its 2,400 stores by next year. ‌ Co-op head of operations Steven Logue said: "With convenience at the heart of everything we do, Co-op is committed to continually exploring innovative technology that can improve how we operate. "The electronic labels have the potential to enhance product information and transparency, avoid paper waste, and make everyday tasks like picking online orders easier." Co-op recently fell victim to cyber attacks, along with M&S, which left store shelves empty. ‌ The chain was forced to shut down IT systems and slow deliveries after hackers attacked their servers. During the attack, the cyber criminals breached IT networks and stole customer and employee data. They claimed to have the private details of 20 million customers in Co-op's membership scheme. Although shelves were widely empty, the store has since recovered from the incident. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! BaByliss hair straightener that works 'just as well as ghd' drops from £90 to £30

'My wife was absolutely delighted with the BaByliss Rose Gold Styler—a true game changer in her daily beauty routine.' One applicance that everyone should have in their home is a quality set of hair straighteners. This versatile hair tool can both straighten and curl your hair, letting you have complete control of how you will look that day. However, one of the problems with hair straighteners is products from high quality brands usually come with a pretty hefty price tag. And while you want to buy a set that will last you a good few years, it can be difficult to part with your hard earned money. Thankfully, in a limited time deal, Amazon has slashed the price of well known branded hair straightener, saving shoppers £60. Originally priced at £90, shoppers can now snatch up the BaByliss Rose Gold Hair Straighteners for only £29.99. Bought by over 1,000 shoppers in the last 30 days, these BaByliss hair straighteners are said to deliver users effortless styling. With floating ceramic plates, the device will glide smoothly through your hair to get rid of any kinks without snagging, leaving users with silky, straight hair "every time". Featuring three temperature settings, ranging from 180 to 235 degrees, shoppers will have more control over the amount of heat they are putting onto their hair. Additionally, for those in a rush, this hair straightener is said to be ready to use in just 15 seconds due to its advanced ceramic heating system. Along with a heat-proof mat for added safety, this device will also automatically turn off after an hour to give users added peace of mind. And for those who want sleek, smooth hair anywhere, this device will become your perfect travel companion as it is equipped with a built-in multi-voltage functionality. Another set of straighteners that have been reduced by Amazon are the ghd Gold Hair Straightener & Styler. Normally retailing for £189, shoppers can now snatch the styler for £150.30 in a limited time deal. This styler promises to give users a 'salon smooth finish' as it uses dual-zone technology for a premium performance. Alternatively, Argos is selling the Remington Sapphire Luxe Hair Straightener for £35. Along with a three year warranty, these hair straighteners are said to make your hair two times smoother than standard stylers. As well as a ultra-fast 15 second heat up time, this device comes with five temperatures to choose from. Back to the BaByliss hair straightener, Amazon shoppers have awarded the device a 4.6 star rating. With many shoppers praising its sleek design, one shopper noted that they became a 'game changer' for their wife's beauty routine. One happy shopper said: "BaByliss products never disappointed me. Great hair straightener, does exactly what it supposed to do despite me being too lazy of sectioning in small portions the hair, I do divide my hair in two parts literally (right half and left half). "The hair straightener gets hot quickly, has a long cable which gives you enough mobility, only minus I personally do not love the rose pink colour." Another reviewer added: "My wife was absolutely delighted with the BaByliss Rose Gold Styler—a true game changer in her daily beauty routine. From the moment she unboxed it, she was captivated by its sleek, rose gold design. "The elegant finish not only adds a luxurious touch to her vanity but also makes a striking visual statement. Holding it, she immediately noticed its premium quality and the way it felt balanced and substantial, yet surprisingly lightweight in her hand." However, not everyone was overly impressed by the hair tool, as one shopper noted: "Works fine but quite a basic model. The cord attached to the straightener doesn't swivel so gets caught up quite easily. I'd recommend a more expensive one that has more features." With another three-star reviewer adding: "This straightener works well and has a usefully long lead. The location of the control between the arms is a real pain. Much better on the side." Despite this, a happy shopper added: "Bought these for my partner after her last set finally died after 10 years of use. She has used them everyday since and has loved them, very sleek and easy to store, take very little tome to heat up and leaves her extremely thick curly hair looking extremely straight. She says she would definitely buy these over more expensive brands." While five-star reviewer went on to say: "Bought these to replace a set of GHD straighteners and to be honest they work just as well. Only downside is that the pink heat mat/cover is just a little bit small. However, that's forgivable because the product is good." To buy the BaByliss Rose Gold Hair Straighteners, click HERE.
